Was switched off for most of the game, genuinely looked like he wasn’t arsed at all, has the complacency set back in already? Don’t understand why we didn’t just take the money and run from West Ham
Because we kept him to score the winner against West Ham :)

People finally waking up I see, been saying this for years. He's never been good enough for this team, not even as a squad player, this is his normal level, unfortunately a lot on here are wowed by a small purple patch and start calling him "Messi Lingod" and such, so it's no wonder he's been getting new contracts because this is the sort of level we've accepted, complete dropping of standards that's allowed players like him to steal a wage from the club for years. Should have got rid in the summer when he was actually worth something, hell he should have been gone years beforehand.

He's scored the odd important goal through multiple seasons but his most important contribution to the club was probably the Beans Beans Beans video

That was probably the worst and laziest performance I've seen from Lingard which is saying something considering his form over the last few years.

Clearly no interest in playing for United and that should probably be his last last game in a United shirt. Just in the way of youngsters development at this stage.

Thought his work rate alone could see him feature for Ralf but he was fairly poor tonight and whilst it’s harsh to judge off one game if he can’t stand out tonight he never will

If he’s leaving I struggle to see we persist on giving him game time tbh.

If we can get £10M for him in January we should take it, offered nothing tonight and we are stacked in his position.

I can’t see him even being worth that much, to be honest.
Maybe we should offer him on a BOGOF.
Buy Lingard and we throw in Jones or Pereira for free.

I think he can be quite good when he applies himself. But it doesn't seem like he cares anymore, shades of his form before his loan move to West Ham.

Could have been a useful squad player.

He is a goner and I am glad. Ole was an idiot to not sell him this summer. Hopefully we ship him off this January.

Think it's now 99% certain he'll sit on his contract and hope for a big signing on fee somewhere in the summer.

Ole was the reason why he is still here. He cant be too keen of Ralf appointment.

Looked heavily disinterested. Not a single thing worked out for him. His mind is already off Old trafford and hopefully he leaves. We were fools not to get 10-15m last season for him.

He didn’t want to leave. Why does nobody factor that it.

He’s happy taking big wages here.

Last night was a typical Lingard performance for United, anonymous for the vast majority, even when being one of the senior players on the pitch.

Most of the players in the team did the same imo. Apart from Bailly from the starters we were pretty dreadful.
I’m not arguing that most were awful last night but a couple of things did come off for him, lay-offs in good positions (which were subsequently wasted by others)

Yes, you are right actually, it was expected though (him being bad) like most of the team, they barely played together. But he wasted a good chance to impress and maybe get more chances. I think his head is gone and he should find himself a new start.

Just shouldnt still be here. West ham would have paid similar to what they paid for vlasic for him. Id try and flog him to newcastle for a few bob in January (if someone from abroad doesnt pre contract him).

tbh, another piece of deadwood thats finally heading towards the door. Last night typified his career with us - runs around and looks busy but when you look at what he actually does on the ball just painfully short of much quality or football iq

I fully agree, was just being pedantic that everything he touched turned to shit

If Newcastle are desperate to want him in January, we should take every penny we can for him asap.

He's likely not a good enough passer to play this high-risk style of constantly trying to move the ball vertically up the pitch. Newcastle in January for like 8M is my guess.

What? Are you actually saying that you are the only who has been negative towards Lingard on here during the last years?

Time to go, I can tolerate bad games, but I can't excuse lack of effort. Hope we never see him again in a United shirt and give that time to someone else.

He's already on a sky high wage which hurts our chances of asking more transfer money. It will be a win-win if he signs for them because it means you can hire another top wage player for the squad.

He played yesterday?

The sooner he's gone the better. Funny how he was pushed at some point even though he's always been average at best

Really disappointed with Jesse's performance last night. You associate Jesse with high energy and high intensity.. where was he? He seemed lazy and disinterested.. bizarre really for a guy who constantly says he loves Manchester United. Some of the teenagers who came on showed more energy, passion and fight..

He's out of contract in the summer.. There was your chance son..

West Ham are flying, he should've joined them in the summer playing every-game and becoming a superstar for them getting the love and fan adulation plus United would've got £20M towards a midfielder now we will get nothing in January... He was never going to become a first-team regular at Manchester United.. time for a reality check Jesse.. you are not good enough to be a starter for Manchester United.

BUT Starting every game and being the star of the team at West Ham a Premier League side with great history/tradition is nothing to turn up your nose at. Becoming a West Ham United legend was something he could've achieved.

He could've become a superstar at West Ham earning loads of money, having women throw themselves at him (Dani Dyer instead of Bowen!) and potentially having a great career with England too.

I maintain that he hasn't cared about his United career long before his West Ham loan. People were too quick to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I was hoping Rangnick would nail him and make an example out of him by hauling him off. Reminds me of the nice approach Ole had.

I think it's convenient for Lingard. His family are closer in Manchester. We are still paying his wages for the next 5-months no matter how badly he plays.. I think he's mentally checked out already and just stealing a living at this point. It's his own fault for not leaving in the summer.

Well in the summer we won't have that problem anymore. And Lingard will be almost 30 years old having to prove himself at a new club. And if he can't be bothered he will be found out quickly and could quickly trickle down the leagues if he doesn't improve his attitude.

J-Lingz that.

There were some disappointing performances last night. I genuinely believe Ralph was not impressed at all and maybe the coaches, (inc Ole and Carrick) talking up some players to him, won't have impressed him after that game.

I feel Ralph has higher standards than we have been tolerating at the club in the last few years
