Mourinho was right all along about both Martial and Marcus. High time we get rid of them both.

Martial + 50M for De Jong sounds good
Barca needs a striker to partner Depay

Just like Adnan did

Seriously, if a player leaves United, why would you possibly want them to be ace elsewhere?
Adnan has had a decent career. Not as good as he should have been but a career most players couldn't dream of.

I like Martial as a person and as a player and I think he's always gotten undue stick here over the years. Why wouldn't I want to see him fulfil his potential? Unless he moves to a rival then I'd always wish a player well, seems very petty not too.

Some harsh comments in here. It's mutually beneficial for Martial to head to another club this January. I'll always appreciate that goal vs Liverpool, and I'll always remember that my first Old Trafford matchday experience (Early Oct 2016 vs Stoke) had him scoring. The result is what I'd like to forget though.

He came in with world class potential, but like many, suffered under Mourinho's and Ole's inept abilities to impose a genuine footballing strategy. His supposed mentality didn't help him either. Best of luck to wherever he ends up — hopefully not in England and never any luck against us.

I recall him saying something along the lines of "if everyone had the worked as hard as Rashford, we'd be champions" or something like that. What did he say about Rashford otherwise?

I haven't seen anything about Rangnick having concerns about him, this transfer news is all coming from Martial's agent. I do agree that when you think relegation dogfight, Martial doesn't instantly spring to mind.
Ah, yeah there’s a bunch of people inferring that this sudden agent talk is the result of Martial and Rangnick not exactly hitting it off regarding pressing training and it sounded plausible.

I am certain there are many Barcelona fans on their website right now fuming that they've got the likes of Depay up front these days.

Nothing, he loved Rashford, played him consistently and only laid into him when he didn’t score enough goals to dig Mourinho out of the toxic hole he’d dug himself.

Martial however, he wanted him and Pogba gone but Joel vetoed it. Something about “Pele”…

Great news as Elanga looks better anyway and we can use the money to put towards a Matic replacement.

Mourinho said about Rashford being a very good winger when everyone was shouting to make him our CF.

Mou was right for many things though, Rashford for winger, sale Martial, Pogba virus etc. I think he was very honest in his time here.

He was trying to save his own arse and blame everyone else but he absolutely had a few players numbers by the third season.

They can have another Utd reject then :)
Maybe them and Newcastle are the only clubs that would continue to pay him £200k a week, so his options definitely are limited unless he'll take a pay cut to get more playing time.

I'd agree with that but will argue that Rashford is still effective out wide. I think he stagnated, or at most, developed only a little, under Mourinho and Ole. He has shown multiple times in the past that he has the energy and pace to thrive in a high pressing system. This will take some time to get him back into that style. His decision making hasn't made great qualitative leaps since the LVG days either. If Rashford can pick up well on Ralf's "training the brain", then I predict he will excel to the potential we saw from the beginning. This is the beauty of having a real tactician at the helms.

I honestly thought he was one of the most lethal finishers I ever saw in his first two-three months here and I thought we had a genuine world class talent in the making. I think Jose was very bad for him and it's a shame it hasn't worked out.

Don’t understand all the harsh sentiments. He’s fallen off track in the last two seasons but he was hardly a bust/dud here. Good luck to him

Huh? Rashford with all his faults is twice the player Martial is, it's not even a contest.

Sounds more like a "I want to play" type of article coming from his camp.

He has been mismanaged imo. during the toxic one's time and then just as he got on track got in to injury problems. I hope he stays.

I know he gets a lot of hate but I am a bit gutted about this. Him and Rashford competing for more goals than each other was awesome.

It's for the best, maybe a change of scenery will motivate him again (unlikely but you never know). A move back to france could do him good but doubt anyone other than psg can pay his wages, other than that i feel a team like inter or dortmund could benefit him.

This is disappointing in my opinion. I honestly think he could be a great fit in Rangnick's system. We've recently seen Dalot stake his claim in the starting 11 - a player written off by 95% fans. I feel Martial could do the same given the opportunity.

If it doesn't work out by the end of the season, then it's best for all parties to part ways, but it would be a shame to see him leave now when we finally have a tactically competent manager with a modern attacking philosophy.

One that has never lived up to his potential or actual ability. Wish him well, but Tara pet. Weirdly expect him to do well elsewhere now.

We might get £30 mill from Newcastle, but the fact its public he wants to leave, may make it nearer the £20 mill mark. Started brilliantly, but didnt like to put the hard work in. Newcastle aside, who else would want him? Inter Juve maybe. A top side wont want him.

Just turned 26 years old, 16th all time top scorer for United with 79 goals. Not too shabby. Massively under-respected player.

Newcastle are cash rich and are odds on to go down - they need goals and Martial has shown he has the quality to score 10/12 goals to keep them up....

Newcastle are desperate....

I think we could do really well out of this deal you know

this was a guy in the French squad not too long ago

Unlike Rashford, his poor form has not come with goals or assists. People can hate Rashford all they want, but he at least contributes something. Martial is a passenger. One of the best debuts, but like Lingard/Mata/Matic, he should have left in the summer.

Anelka mk II, except not as good at the end of the day.

Time to go. Lingard, Mata, Jones, Pogba, Matic to follow.

Let's get this squad sorted.
