Agree with the entire post except for the bolded part. If you have e.g. Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes, Allen and Kyler, that's a (subjective) top 5. No one will convince me that Wilson or Lamar are not a elite QBs (and I guess Herbert and Burrow within this and 2 years as well but maybe then Brady and Rodgers are already gone). Dak is on the verge of that list right now, but I doubt he can ever truly make that next step.

Disagree twice. Results are a team's stat so only a part of a QB's evaluation. And previous years of course count when evaluating a player, you can't say a player is elite if he has 10 awful years and one good season. Nick Foles was never elite because he had 5 great games and won a Super Bowl MVP.

Everything needs to be taken into consideration when assessing a QB. Record, accuracy, pocket presence, awareness, decision making, leadership, clutchness, deep balls, ... Everything. You can't say "oh look he threw for 5k yards he's great" because guys like Carr can do that and they are just not great QBs at all.
I think how you define elite is itself subjective and therefore whether it’s 3, 5 or 7, that’s up to each person I think.

I would agree on Wilson by the way. And probably Lamar. Herbert and Burrow are still away from elite in my books. But both appear on a promising trajectory. Dak too, I suppose.

Edit: I would have Wilson above Murray and Allen though.

Got the Lions next, can beat them with a one-legged Murray. But then got Colts, at Dallas, and Seahawks.
So really it’s the Colts and Dallas games. Neither are easy. Especially if Colts grab a win against us, they’ll be buoyed. Seahawks you’d expect them to win but a game vs a divisional opponent isn’t always a given.

Except they weren't 10 awful years for Stafford, other than the fact that was playing on one of the worst run franchises in football during that period, and yet managed to leave as the 12th most prolific passer in NFL history, and along the way joined both the 500 yard club as well as 5000 yard season club, and still has many years left to go. There's no doubt that he would have been even more prolific if he played on well coached teams during that period, or was surrounded with more talent as he is now with the Rams. The trouble with these debates is people get brainwashed by a player's historical reputation which leads them to ignore what they are doing in the present.

Man Kamara is just so special. That first touchdown run… burst, trickery, power … unbelievable player.
I'm not saying this due any bias at all, but he's honestly my all-time favourite RB to watch. He's just so good. I've watched that TD back like a thousand times this week.

Same, without a doubt.

Imagine thinking this guy was the right person to lead a group of people and paying him loads of money to do it.

Bad owners hire bad coaches.

Who will they go after in the draft with their likely top 3 or top 5 pick? Seems like someone like Evan Neal should be a priority to protect Lawrence but almost the entire top 5 is D in most mocks (Hutchinson, Thibodeaux, Hamilton, Stingley, ...).

well that went well

The owner is terrible. The second they extended Bortles to effectively put an end to that tiny championship window they had carved open and split up that top 5 defence, I knew everybody in that building from the coach all the way up to the owner was no good. Most of the FO from that time are no longer there. But the owner is still there making terrible decision after terrible decision.

This Ekwonu guy is fast becoming a mock draft darling, as is Cross. Evan Neal from Bama has long been seen as a top 5 type guy.

But if I’m them I’m just going BPA, maybe even it is the safety Hamilton. The guy is a fascinating prospect.

Such a shame that Chiefs vs. Chargers is a Thursday game, so it's in the middle of the night here. Would have loved to see Herbert go toe-to-toe with Mahomeboy. Hopefully the Chargers can give them a good beating and make the AFC West division interesting.

I’ll be rather disappointed if someone doesn’t use ‘kicking the kicker was the real kicker‘ in their reporting of this news.

Wonder if Khan is monitoring the Carroll/Seattle situation and could make a move for Carroll. Would be another mistake but can totally see it happen. Best move is to perhaps go for Leftwich (beware the nepotism/romanticism hire), Pederson, Moore, few others perhaps.

He played for the Jags and had his only starting success there. Not nepotism in the familial sense but as in player+club ties, like Garret+Dallas, or in England shit hire like Ole+United and Lampard+Chelsea.
Christ, I’m an idiot. Thanks!

Leftwich being carried by his teamates to the huddle is one of the most iconic sporting moments from my youth

The Jake Lambo story is bizarre - but the whole tenure was to be fair.

Although out of the bullet points I don’t see an issue with an open battle for starting QB. The job is there to be won.

Think I posted a short YT clip on the story behind this a few pages back. It’s worth a watch / search.

Browns now with over 20 positive cases, yet no word from the NFL about potentially moving the game. Nick Mullens in line to start aftre Keenum tested positive today.

Think Chubb is exempt from testing for 90 days since he got it a few weeks ago. They should just hand it to him 62 times and let him run all over that awful Vegas run D.
