By clueless fans, yes.

There’s a big gap between not good enough for United and a championship player. Lingard as proven last season is a good mid level premier league player.
Agreed I'm not saying that's a fair opinion but he's clearly not good enough and hasn't been for years.

Dalot wasn’t good enough, Telles wasn’t Man Utd standard, Lingard is rubbish, Martial is rubbish, Fred is useless, Sancho is a waste of £70m, Ronaldo won’t be able to play in a RR team, Rashford isn’t as good as everyone thought he was, Pogba is rubbish, trying to think of any other players that have been deemed not good enough by the footballing super brains on here!

New manager in ALL players get a clean slate, lets see how they actually do over the next few months before we go over react about this player not being of UTD standard.

Hiadara or Kamara surely? Don’t want De Jong at United. Seems to have soft personality.

A new midfielder in January lets Donny go at the same time. Probably at least one of Pogba/Matic in the summer too.

Never heard of these two, who do you prefer?
I only just learned about them through the caf - I have no knowledge from watching them. I’ve seen couple of tactical videos and I’d say that Haidara would suits Rangnick’s style of play. That other player Kamara seems to have good potential.

I mean, I’m sure @Adnan could tell you everything there is to know about them, if he wants, eh Adnan?;)

Haidara isn't a holding midfielder , Kamara should be available and could be decent punt .
Haidara is in the mould of a midfielder that Rangnick would go for apparently though. But who knows what exact type of player that we will go for…

Thank you, I’ll camp here for more details.

I would think we would be buying players based on who we will get next as Rangnick is overseeing use just for the short term.

I'm surprised we haven't been linked with Mohamed Camara yet given Rangnicks connection to RB Salzburg. Quality talent from what I've seen.

I'd liken Kamara to a budget Fabinho, probably would be a sensible signing.
Yeah, we quite simply don't have a player like him. We need our Rodri/Fabinho. I'd much rather that profile of player partner Fred, than a Haidara. Although perhaps Rangnick sees it differently.

I think Rangnick will look to appoint someone similar to what his ethos is and he hasn’t ruled out staying further than 6 months so we will see. But it’s good to see Glazers backing him.

We're not looking for squad depth here though, is he good enough to be a clear starting XI player at United? Not sure about that.
We're not gonna get a first team standard midfielder at this point in time. Also, we are guaranteed to be losing quite a few midfielders soon, so we need first teamers and quality backups.

He's young, so the idea would be he has the potential to turn into that. He'd probably be a clear starting 11 player pretty quickly given the lack of quality we have there right now.

Traditionally in the past we've done just that in January.

Saha, Vidic, Evra, Mata, Bruno.

If the scouting is good and the economics are good, then there's every chance of a prudent first-team standard player, and, as Ralf has already said, he's only looking to bring in quality that improves what we already have.

if a new DM is brought in, then Matic has to be let go.

we have players who don't even serve a squad role like Mata & Jones, they should be let go, the sooner the better.

Pogba might be leaving in the summer, as well as Lingard, so for the remainder of this season, they can serve as cover for Bruno & Sancho in the #10 role in RR's 4222.

This leaves VdB, not sure how RR sees him, but it might be good for him to go on loan to get game time.

Should be looking at the Bellingham, Tchouameni and Ndidi bracket of midfielders, all 3 would better our midfield significantly.
Yeah but they'd all be summer signings and they'd cost a fortune. It's about time we moved away from targeting star players at English clubs too, they just cost too much for the quality they give in return.

I'm in the mindset now that if it means we get the right player in summer but leaves us short until the end of the season, then so be it. It's a gamble for the short term not buying anyone, but buying a player like Haidara isn't the correct signing, not only is he going off to AFCON but he's also not good enough.

The only way I see us signing Haidara is because he's a short term solution as he's a player that knows Rangnick system and will execute the game plan properly, it's a player he knows will perform.

Not many negatives with this guy, quite raw though. Decent shot on him but does tend to lose focus and he’s always trying flashy stuff. Can be a bit of a loose canon at times. Hopefully it all clicks with him soon but it would be great to see him develop somewhere else before he comes here.

Watched Boubakar at Marseille a few times, he never stood out. If on a free then worth a punt but id rather we use the money to buy a player that can be a mainstay in the team, Declan Rice is the player we need, he is improving each year and is one of the major driving forces behind West Ham's improvement under Moyes.

Question is, who is available in winter, and who are we going to buy?

We really don't have enough midfielders to think about letting someone go.
Matic/new CDM
Fred/van de Beek
+ McTominay to fill the gap here and there
Pogba is gone.

I expect that anyone is available for the right price.

In terms of who are we actually going to buy - either someone nearing the end of the contract or with a reasonable release clause.

The best signing we can make which will improve the team instantly is Kalvin Philips
