I think De Jong is very low morally.
If the young midfielders continue at this level + Pedri, there are many options for him to be sold in the summer.

A team always tries to play well, with Sevilla it will be very difficult. The important thing is to play better and better.
Even if i'm dreaming of De Jong at PSG, I think it would be a huge mistake for Barcelona. Gavi/Pedri/Nico do show a lot of potential but you can't go all in and consider the 3 of them will be top players, it's statistically very unlikely and it's too big of a risk to take for a club that is supposed to be in the CL every year.

Both but mostly the latter

They're playing a lot more like they used to compared to koeman who set them very negatively towards the end but they still have a long way to go

Their defense is abysmal ter stegan is shot and devoid of confidence they have a ton of young inexperienced players and their marquee signings aren't performing (cuthinio de Jong dembele) and in attack they have to do with luke fecking de jong leading the attack (whom xavi has Rightfully benched) they also have bit of injury crisis going on

Its a steep mountain for anyone to climb i doubt xavi can make it
Ya ter Stegen looked awful, Alba also.
But Gavi looked like the 2010 midfield reincarnated., and they were all doing 1-2s and those sharp passes behind the defence... all that nice Barca stuff!

Was watching some classic Champions League and look at the fecking class of this reverse blindside pass by Kiko for Atletico Madrid in '96. Timestamped vid at 3:35.

And then in the same game plays this gorgeous looking throughball. Time stamped at 5:43.

Barcelona is 3 points behind 4th spot with a game in hand. I reckon betis falls too and atletico and Barca make top 4 with Sevilla and Madrid.

Gavi has been a revelation this season playing with such intensity and desire almost beyond his years

A bright spot in such a horrid season for them

Tomorrow Betis has a very difficult game, let's see what they can do.
Barcelona in January should improve, Fati, Pedri, Depay, Braithwathe will reappear and maybe some signing like Cavani or F. Torres
If Betis hold the pace it can be a problem for Barcelona and Atletico.

To me De Jong seems a very complete player in all facets. A top player.
Barcelona right now need to cover several positions, if you sell De Jong for example for 120M and bring Olmo (50) who can play in midfield or left winger , Kounde (70) or Vlahovic (70), it would not be a bad deal.

Watching Getafe vs Osasuna and just noticed Djene is still at Getafe who could get relegated this season. He was linked with a few bigger teams not long ago, does anyone know what happened to him and why he didn't get a move?

The upcoming Sevilla v Barcelona is going to be the best match of December, of any league.

Have you watched Sevilla play? The game against Atletico was one of the worst and most boring display i've seen in a while, Liga is truely terrible this season.

Atletico lost again yesterday, I know they won the league last season but they’ve been in poor form all year. If it wasn’t for their huge lead at coming into the year, they wouldn’t be champions. They limped over the line.

Has Diego taken them as far as he can?

He doesn't have the players that suit his style. He had a brief period when he allowed them to actually play football but he's back to his old ways and you just can't do that with Lemar, Trippier, Llorente, Felix etc.

If he doesn't change, he'll be gone pretty soon.

Gutting that I can't find a full match replay of Celta-Espanyol anywhere! Even though Espanyol lost, Darder seemed to have another brilliant game.

With it being the only Spanish game on last night, I was sure there would be something. Only thing I can find is one link on rojadirecta, which takes aaaaages.
If you live in UK it was actually live on Freesports Yaga (on Freeview).

They normally repeat it sometime this week so look at the listings.

Brilliant consolation goal from Espanyol near the end.

Trippier and Llorente were largely excellent last season in the title win. It's obvious Trippier wants to go back to UK now and is running down his deal so he'll be sold in Jan.

Lemar only ever really been a bit part player for them and he's never really got Felix into his team structure consistantly tbh.

I think Aleti's biggest problem has been decline of Suarez as he popped up so often with late winners for most of last season. Greizzy returning hasn't worked out at all either.

I'd still fancy them v Man. United though as things can change in two months and they've consistently shown v english teams in knock out rounds their style is very hard to defeat over two legs. Ronaldo could of course be decisive like he has been in previous match ups.

They were, but mostly in the first half of the season, when they were actually playing football. When it started to get rough Simeone when back to his more conservative style and it was all about praying for a last minute goal from Suarez.

Lemar was very important last year before he got covid.

On top of that, they bought De Paul who's also a ball player, but Simeone can't seem to use him properly.

Can Madrid drop more? Or can Sevilla put up a real challenge for the title! IMO I think it will be an easy ride for Madrid.

Depends on the injuries for Real because they run with a very tight roster. I also think Vinicius is in overdrive mode and that it might not last but it's hard to predict. They seem by FAR the best team in liga at the moment and it's not even close. The level is very low and they're the only one who actually start each game thinking they need to win it.

*facepalm*

Yeah, I'm in Manchester, mate. Thanks for the heads up but it's probably too late now. I'll still have a check to make sure because the stuff I found on rojadirecta was already dead so it's that or nothing.

Did you watch the game?

Personally if I were Simeone, Lemar and Felix would be starters. Both are excellent on the ball, maybe not as defensively good but with the talent like that they should really be aiming dominate and outscore their opponents. Both have largely been good when played so it surprises me they're bit regulars.

Another I'd start is Angel Correa. He hasn't been given as much game time since Griezmann came in, but he was also huge for them last season with some very crucial goals and assists.

With Trippier back from injury I'd honestly consider a switch to 4-3-3 for them. A team of the following would blow past most teams in the league, even Real in a heads up:

Felix - Griezmann/Suarez - Correa
Lemar - Koke - Llorente
Defense - Trippier

It’s been a brutal time since Messi left but very very excited for this match. We do play more attractive football under Xavi, and I think with more time it should only improve.

I'm starting to think Xavi is actually Louis van Gaal. His Barca is the ultimate example of pointless possession.

It was said he wanted to play a bit like the spanish national team, they do, the '18 spanish NT.

Great goal from Araujo. Cracking match
Come on mate, we also have TV, the game is technically very poor, the only good thing was Barcelona's high press, the rest was garbage and Seville spent 20mn giving away the ball for free. Your standards are very low.

Lots of shots, and yes it was sloppy at times but this is a fun tempo. Play in the third could be better from us, but I love the pressure we poured on. Should be winning.

Heavily disagree. They have a garbage team and are dominating away on a tough trip. I am pretty impressed by what they're showing.
