Taking the hit now and clearing the decks of the dross would send out the right message to players and agents. Come to United to work hard, express yourself and be adored by fervent fans, whatever your age.
I'd take us having to blood some younger players as interim measures over continuing to have mediocrity sitting around the club being rewarded for half arsed running around in training.

Players just need to look around at almost useless, unmotivated teammates getting bumper new deals and the stadium falling apart around them. It doesn’t foster an environment where people take pride in what they are doing or have any fear of being cut out if they don’t perform for a year or two. You can tell by the way the team always falls apart at the slightest sign of trouble and how the owners don’t do anything about it until it’s too late. We are a club in a purgatory of boom and bust cycles.The leeching of money out of the club by these parasitic owners has trickled down to a lot of our players who are set for life on these ridiculous contracts.

And they have usually moved players/coaches on quickly if things dont work (fail fast approach)To be fair to the owners in one respect, UTD have spent a hell of a lot of money on transfers since Fergie retired & also give our players huge wages. Sadly, City, Liverpool & Chelsea have mostly bought better players & coached them better.

Lingard and Pogba will run their contracts down and no club is going to buy Martial or pay even half of his wages on a loan deal so the ones that will probably go permanently or loan will be Mata, Deano or VDB and they don’t play anyway. I could get on board with that if it means finally addressing the CDM and CM strong on the ball long term issuesI think the new direction of the club will involve signing younger players again on much smaller contracts.
