Fiorentina's director recently confirmed that Piatek is coming in to back up Vlahovic, not replace him. Given Fiorentina's ambitions, they can do better than Piatek to replace Vlahovic, and I think that's their plan, too.

I don't believe that for a second. Barca and the affiliated journos are lying through their teeth, routinely desinforming their fans, with the general theme of Barca never paying any wages for anyone, and everyone playing almost for free for them because they are so awesome.
And then the club collapses because the wage budget is out of control, go figure.
Them paying none of his salary also means it reduces their wage bill so they can register more, or more expensive players.....how convenient.

I don't know if the information is real or not, Barcelona this year is working hard to lower the wage bill. The wage bill right now is not out of control, there is simply a financial fair play exceeded due to previous years.
And for example a news story right now, a journalist on a program said the salaries of some players, exorbitant figures.
And Pique posted a twitter with 50% of his salary collected on December 30: €2.3M
If Barcelona does not lower the wage bill can not register new players, so lie obviously is not.

His passing is a bit too safe to be a proper playmaking influence at the moment. His strength lies in maintaining possession under pressure and maintaining the build-up tempo with accurate passes. Don't expect him to play too many incisive passes like Pogba does.
