Miles better performance even without the goal. Controlling matches and for me Fred and McTominay look a lot better under a better coach. We still need midfielders and I’d argue a full back but at least we’re able to enjoy watching United again.

Credit where it’s due..

been critical of some the shapes and selections so far.

but that was much more like it.

they defended very well, but we kept up the intensity, and deserved that break through

felt like a Fergie win that

Can finally see his message getting through to the players, much more control in that game, we just lacked the technical ability to really do much upfront. Gambled on the attacking subs that got us the last minute winner so can't fault that. Subs are looking way better than they did at the start

We are improving. We are still short of quality but our pressing is getting better.

Time to start giving him credit now. We were very dominant and controlled and i never felt like we'd concede as we have all season.

We need to improve obviously and were average attacking.

But he put 4 strikers on to finish, had Dalot and Telles way up supporting mf. It was a tactical win.

Has managed egos well, stopped the absolute leak of goals and nobody can argue that we were completely composed for 90 minutes today. The only downside is lack of creation.

He absolutely nailed how to maintain the control and tip the balance there

Throwing on all the forwards at the end was like Ferguson. Overwhelmed them in that last attack and won the game. Positive subs.

Improvement. 2 decent halves there.

Glad to see that he's got the balls to throw on all our forwards. Our substitutes won us the game.

I wanted him to take the team around for a lap of honour. Could be the start of something tonight

Impressed! Played like a team, pressed well and overall controlled the game. We are still short of quality in some areas but that will come.

Much much better today against the best level of opposition we have faced in ages. Solid overall as a team but now working out how to consistently create chances from that solidity is key,

I expect nothing but honesty towards players from him.

I hope he'll squeeze even more from this group.

We looked solid all game bar that header at the end. Not firing up front but we know we got the quality

Got the subs spot on at the end.............massive win for him was delighted for him and the players.

Needed a big win like that at the right time.

Yeah but he'd have been crucified for it if we had conceded. I guess that's the point of high risk high reward decisions though.

The most impressive thing he's done so far is stopped us conceding at will. Now we're controlling matches with THAT midfield, if we can just find some cohesion upfront we'll finish 3rd this season. In the time he's been here he's done very well considering his methods revolve around hard work, and we have players that are totally averse to it.

Setting some foundations here.

It's what we need.

You can't build a mansion on poor foundations.

Then, someone can take over and build an empire again.

Nice fixtures but all in all a good start from where we were. Especially tightening up

Credit where it’s due, his subs won us the game. Especially Martial and Cavani. Finally some good in-game management at United.

That's football though... he was willing to throw the dice and it worked. In league football, a win is 3 points, draw is 1 point, so it's well worth throwing the kitchen sink at it.

Can the board please back him and let him bring a player in. Could be just the boost we need to push us on.

Yep. This aspect can't be understated. Our midfield isn't anywhere near good enough, but he's got them controlling games, has to be applauded.

Much better. First time we’ve put together a full 90 minutes under him.

Fully expecting his comments after the game to be about the physicality and winning the 50/50s. It was clear from the start that the intensity was much better, we’ve got to find a way to bring that consistently.

Managed to limit West Ham to set piece chances when he brought on Cavani, Martial, Rashford alongside Ronaldo

He's got the control in, the press triggers are really easy to see, Fred and McT actually look complimentary now next to each other and I like Bruno in the 8 as he can run in from deep.

He now needs to get that chemistry in attack going, I would hope to see him coach more in our attacking third play. Everything else looks miles better already.

He's improving us slowly. Defense has improved, pressing has improved. We need to start creating better chances and keep possession of the ball better. We lose the ball too cheaply

I was worried about this game, very worried, WHU are in good form and difficult to beat. But finishing aside, we played some decent football. Surely people can see what RR trying to achieve, imagine a full pre season with a squad of his choice. He must start getting some credit now for me.

It's refreshing to see subs made that are not like-for-like, finally.

Finally reaping the fruits of his disciplined labour. This will be a massive boost to everyone associated with the club, and hopefully reinforces players' belief in Rangnick.

Delighted for the players and Ralf.

The CR7 dry spell is quite worrying. Also, our miscommunication in the final third is frustrating.

I hope that we start to get our confidence back in our attacking play because we’ll need that as the fixtures get tougher.

Its starting to look like Ralf's getting his ideas into our players. It was half an hour or so at Villa. It was a half at Brentford. Today we pretty much dominated from start to finish.

People need to remember West Ham have been riding high this season. We beat the side that's been 4th, on merit, not 14th. Not only that we limited their ability to play and DeGea had one of the quietest games he's had all year. The pressing across the park was coordinated and properly executed. These were players, playing to a plan and understanding what they need to do and where they need to be in every phase of play.

When you've got that, when you're able to minimise the threat the opposition poses there's always a chance with our attacking threat.

All of a sudden the penny seems to be dropping.

Good signs of something building here. Just got to stick with it and make steady progress. Club need to stick with the high intensity, counter-pressing gameplan as the project for the foreseeable future. It's fun, it's effective and the fans like it. With some more fluid attacking patterns we will do well. Give Rangnick the signings he needs.

I think this win is a big win for Ralf and his methods. He can point to this result as proof of the fruits of their labour if they just work hard, keep fighting and just trust in his methods.

The fact that he has no problem benching people is a breath of fresh air. Maguire actually looked competent today and that's down to the manager showing that I'd you aren't at the races you are on the bench.
