I get that referees can makes mistakes, but I knew after the red card that there was no way the referee would take it back.

Accepting that it wasn't a penalty it's one thing, but accepting it wasn't and that you feck it up also giving a red card it's too much. They're too proud to do it.

Always said that unless referees are forced to do after match interview nothing will change. Or atleast having a mic for tv-watchers during games. Until then we will never know why and how some referees make decisions.

They should have same rules as managers. To answer questions.
This would be a pointless exercise that just sets them up as a target for everybody to take aim at. Which they already are to a large extent, anyway. There would be nothing to talk about unless the interviewer is going to lead a discussion about supposedly poor decisions, which just means they'll be on the defensive and in a position that's no good to anybody.

If we're going to do something like this then micing them up is far, far more productive as you hear the decisions in real time rather than an emotive response after a match. It may also make players take responsibility for the way they behave.

What they need is accountability within the refereeing body. That's what seems to be missing. They seem to have to go to ridiculous lengths to receive any kind of demotion.

How on earth is that not handball.

He control the ball with his hand and then passed it

That is absolutely the worst decision I have seen since the famous goal that saved Villa

He’s an actual piece of shit.
If I saw him in the street I’d call him a cnut to his face. By some distance the worse referee in the league. Yet he will strut around like he’s the bee knees.

If we were given that, there’d be riots. He controls the ball with his hand. Very clearly. That’s it. That’s the end of the conversation. Any rule that says that goal can stand is bollocks.

There is no way he'd be able to justify this decision in front of TV cameras without coming across as indolent twat.

Probably thought VAR would confirm it. Problem with refs they now rely on VAR too much and dont make basic decisions

let’s be fair to watmore, if he doesn’t slap it down it probably runs out for a goal kick.

I had a feeling we were in for it when, in the first half, he gave them a free kick when one of their players were backing into Maguire, and then let play roll on when the exact same thing happened to Ronaldo a minute later.

No consistency or reason. They just do what they please these refs.

Happens in every cup tie between a Premier League team and a lower league team. Refs try to balance the inequality in the teams.

They’ve just made up rules for that. His hand couldn’t have been further from his body unless he detached it and threw it at the ball.

Thing is, he’s looking clearly at it. Why doesn’t he just blow up when he sees the handball?
Pure incompetence.
Because he's a cnut.

But seriously, the easier decision was to disallow it. The officials have created the controversy themselves.

At this point, I feel ref’s are encouraged to give chances to the underdog to make games more exciting. There’s so much money in broadcasting

Any reason Liverpool are consistently given the rub of the green?

Haha maybe it’s Klopp mind games. He’s quite like Fergie in that way, he’s always trying to influence decisions in his interviews always complaining and calling out refs. We should try it, cmon Ralf!

Anyone who has played at a decent level says handball, no question. Pickup game in the park and the goal is chalked off. Unbelievable. Twat.
