A lot of these actually would be ICBMs and SCBMs that can throw tens if not hundreds of missiles. For example, UK has subs that carry 4 trident rockets, each of which 'disintegrates' into 12 independent rockets. So one ship can hit 60 different targets.
Which is why he is now waving the nuke wang. Because having committed so many resources, it's not exactly going well is it. It's hardly the shock and awe of Iraq for instance.
What this doesn't mention is that the Russian troops are increasingly demoralized, while the Ukrainians are increasingly energized. This will massively factor into the equation going forward.

Nukes on Ukraine would be unthinkable. He wants to take over the country, not destroy it, and without knowing the details I'm guessing the fallout could easily reach both Russia and Belarus.

IMO he has calculated that NATO won’t fight directly in Ukraine and he is happy to swap sanctions for UKraine. He either ends up with Ukraine with Russian puppet government or if as I suspect, Ukraine offer too much resistance and he doesn’t fancy ten years of guerrilla war, he will gonto the negotiating table and get what he can, promises from NATO and Ukraine split into two opposing states.
