Rio Ferdinand rates him. Mentioned him on his podcast as a potential signing.

I don't know the player but we should go for these kind of players, a bit under the radar, potential, not expensive

I've only seen us linked to him by Gerard Romero, whom I don't consider the least bit trustworthy or reliable. Seems like billion-in-debt Barca are hoping to use our name to start a bidding war. The links with Akanji, on the other hand, seem more credible.

He's on a free mate.

Can't see this guy leaving the Barca project for the Man United project.

They have Xavi changing their world and just spanked Real at the Bernabeu.

Araujo and Pedri are players that we should've thrown silly money at when Barca were trying to get funds to keep Messi.

That was a once in a decade chance to raid a big club. The previous chance was when we sold Ronaldo but didn't include any exchange to land Robben or Sneijder at the time I believe.

We always miss a trick. Need big changes at the board level this summer.

Selling Bailly and Jones, and getting Araujo would be fantastic. Ideally, I’d have Maguire gone but we all know that’s not going to happen.

Jones only has a year left on his contract now though. As ridiculous as it has been him being here so long, Id personally just keep him as back up until his contract runs down. We will get little in a transfer if at all and he seems to have turned down moves and loans so we would only end up payin gof his contract anyway

Yeah we wont have to pay off his full salary in one go that way as well.

Good player, deceptively fast and athletic considering he is built like Smalling, apparently has more than his share of muscle injuries, but recovers quickly.

Probably because some english club gave him a really high offer.

I dont know him well at all. I would really like to see us pursue Pau Torres again if we are going to hire ETH. I think Man Utd needs a player who is ace in the build up. The build up of Ajax, whenever I see them, rely heavily on Blind. Pau Torres would be that option for us. Probably the best passer of the ball in the world at CB right now.
Why not get Blind again :wenger:. He'd be a DM and a CB

Barca aren’t going to sell this guy
Has 1 year left on his deal, if it’s evident he’s not going to sign they’ll sell him. Would love him at united, doubt it’ll happen, but never thought I’d see Varane at United and it happened. Money talks and Barca (despite their constant bs about being loaded) are low balling new contracts.

He will sign a new contract when they pay up

Maybe, maybe not. I’m not privy to his negotiations and it’s ‘if’ they pay up.
What is clear is that all reports is that he wants to stay. They will find a compromise in my opinion.
Very different from Varane who always wanted to leave

Just saw this morning in a tweet that Barca have informed his entourage that they do not intend to improve the offer.

Smalling was fast and athletic.....he just could not pass a ball to save his life.
