Brilliant player, when we were linked to Maddison previously I was so gutted because wanted this guy. He isn’t the answer to our DM issue but would be a fantastic addition to the squad, great passer who could replace Pogba.
Even if Pogba were to stay he would be a good addition to the squad

If he's not signing a contract at Leicester we have to be in for him.

Sick of us missing out on the most obvious transfers to Liverpool and City again and again. No doubt the board are all too busy trying to throw £100m at West Ham for another Englishman. We know that dealing with more than one possible transfer at a time is too mentally taxing for them.

I’m beginning to think I’d prefer Neves alongside a tackler. I think he’s developing consistency better.
I think if we signed Neves to play as a #6 we’d probably just start with McTominay or Fred every game as one of the #8s.

I’m on his case for a long time. I’m absolutely convinced if pogba leaves then him and Declan rice is the way to go. Bring them both for around 120m. The midfield of Bruno, Tielemens, Rice is as complete as it can be. Add Raphinha to the wings for around 40m too and we are mint.

Im with you. Except Antony instead of Raphinha. He’s looking a bit stale lately.

For me he is much more of the Controller Thiago style midfielder than a direct replacement for Pogba

he plays more a Deep Playmaker than Pogba who prefers to play much higher

With a Proper DM he would certainly increase our speed of transition in breaking through the first line of defence, with also a killer pass at the end of it

His defensive work is suspect at times but again it isn't what we would sign him for its more of a bonus

Played really well yesterday when i watched the game wasn't as poor defensively as everyone is making out

Never seen him have a bad game. Have to be in for him.
How often have you been watching him ? He has had many bad games this year and last year. Actually, I would argue to the point that he isn't really yet. You will know it once he is signed.

Tbf only when they're playing a big team.

I wouldn't read too much into this season almost every Leicester player has been crap.

Him and Rice. Midfield partnership sorted!! Bruno and Donny can fight for the 10 with Hannibal.

It does say he wants champions league football, and there'll be plenty of teams interested who can offer that. Yeah not sure we're in pole position here.

Despite of having bad season, it's still not a bad signing if we can get him for 25m to improve the squad depth quality in our midfield. I do concern with our midfield if Bruno gets injured since next season Bruno will be the only creative midfielder we got in the squad, but we need a DM first.

I personally think he’s very lax defensively and he’s really quite slow, but his other qualities for £25m represents good value for money. Should be a decent pick for whoever gets him.

Glasgow resident these days.
Looks like an Arsenal type player to me. Not sure why, but just see him in their jersey.
Everything I’ve seen him play, he’s either really good or very average - but like Pogba in that way.

I'll be shocked if we aren't really all over this, considering his agent has been rumoured to have had talks with us already.

Would slot in on the left hand side of the 3 man midfield as a more attacking alternative to Xhaka.

Bellingham would be the ideal first choice but he'd be our of our range both for price & our current standing, so Tielemans as a cut price, last year of contract, Premiership proven 23-25 year old alternative just seems to tick a lot of the Arteta / Edu boxes.

I do believe we are interested, just not sure if he is interesed in Arteta's project. At his age he probably wants to join a club that can challenge title.

I highly doubt Arteta can handle his ego. It is a disaster waiting to happen. He is a perfect fit for Man Utd.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time
I like him, but from what I've seen and from what others have said, I worry we'd have most of the same issues with him that we've had with Pogba over the years. His defensive ability (or lack thereof) will get taken advantage of in a two man midfield, and the more attacking your team is the more that will probably happen. He also seems to have been quite inconsistent.

If there is a defensive cushion with him then that is protected. You have to look at what it will over us with the ball. We don't have a central midfielder who has a good short and long pass game who also positionally know's his role in a midfield two. I think Pogba offers this but he's uncomfortable with his position in the team. He plays that role for France but it's a lot slower and they retain the ball far greater than we do.

If we can have him next to an Ndidi (Rice) whilst adopting a different approach (Ten Hag). I think it works perfectly.

Plus we also have VDB and Fred who can add defensive balance to a 3 midfield.

25mil would be a good deal to improve our squad depth, I’d say he’s better then mctominay and Fred. We paid 40 for VDB and he wasn’t even a squad player.

I do not believe the quoted 25m. For that price Leicester may as well let him run down the contract. Tielemans may also want to leave for free and pocket the big sign on fee.
