My guess is Ferenc Puskas as he arrived at Real Madrid in his mid-30s. If Modric plays for 3 more years, he might become their oldest player ever.
1 Ferenc Puskás Centre-Forward 38 years 07 months 19 days
2 Paco Buyo Goalkeeper 38 years 02 months 03 days
3 Jerzy Dudek Goalkeeper 38 years 01 month 28 days
4 Alfredo di Stéfano Second Striker 37 years 10 months 23 days

Luka got a chance.
Thanks.
I thought Manuel Sanchis would've been their oldest performing player. Seemed to be the player that instantly sprung to mind.

We probably could have sold Henderson for around £40 million a couple of what’s ago, but I doubt we will have many takers around that price now. £25-30 million at a push IMO.

Aaron Ramsdale went for what £25m after looking very poor. Yes, he’s now looking like a bargain but I don’t think £30m+ is unreasonable. Maybe someone like West Ham who are on the up would be looking for a younger keeper.

Thing is £25-30m wouldn’t be a terrible fee for someone who hasn’t staked a claim to be a top GK yet. It would release high wages and give us more funds to fix higher priority positions.

Summer 22’
DM
CM
RW
ST

Winter 22’
(Early summer if possible)

Summer 23’
GK
CB
RB

Yeah that would be my positions for this summer as well, however Erik and the club may think differently.

Alexander Nübel on BILD TV about an early return to Bayern: "At the moment it's not an issue for me." And further: "If Manuel Neuer is there, he will play. And I don't think I'll come back to Bayern again in that time."

He needs to bring in his own coaching staff. Non of this ex United player nonsense please
Does it really matter if they’re ex United? Pretty sure he’ll be working with numerous ex United players at Old Trafford as there’s already loads of them there.

Yes its matter since the level of coaching at United has not been up to scratch and one of the reasons we have brought him in is to improve the coaching level. For that he needs to be able to bring who he feels is best not who knows United better. Glad he is bringing his current assistant instead of McClaren

Why can't we for once be proactive and sign and sell players early so the are ready for July 1st and preseason. Everybody knows the problems, why can't they be fixed quickly. We are always compiling a list or preparing a bid. We won't have a new centre back before the season starts and Jones, Bailly and Tuanzebe will probably be with us next season or at best be a late loan out in the window. Please United prove me wrong this year.

It seems like he is bringing his own team. Mitchell van deer Gaag is his current assistant at Ajax, there was an article about a week ago about him wanting to bring with him the fitness coach Alessandro Schoenmaker aswell. In general I don't have a problem with him bringing an ex-united players with him to help him get to know the club, especially when it seem like it's his own decision to do this. That said maybe it's better to keep a current coach like when Pep kept Brian Kidd as his assistant because he wanted help getting to know the players. As long as Mike Phelan is out the door I dont really care if it's RVP or Schteve.

Probably need to actually have a manager first right.

Matters not what you ‘think’ matters not whom the coaches ‘used’ to play for. You’re just parroting the usual anything United must be bad. Best people for the job is the key, discounting anyone who used to play for United is just silly.
RvP would be a good pick for him, fellow countryman, knows the club and is doing good work at PSV. But obviously you’d be against that as he used to play for us….

No I would be against RVP being his assistant manager. You don’t need to put words in my mouth.

Id be against McClaren and Rene being his assistant too. Jap Stam too. None of them should be his assistant they have never worked with him before.

If RVP comes in as part of the coaching team and that is what Ten Hag asked for then thats fine.

Its well know he wanted to bring his assistant from Ajax. Yet we have had all these stories of ex United players being his assistant. Same happened with LVG, Jose etc.

We need to bring in top coaches and previously having played for United should not be a deciding criteria. We need the best full stop

This clubs obsession with ex players over the best for the job needs to stop

Are you suggesting we need EtH to say that Jones, Bailly and Tuanzebe aren't good enough? These are not a difficult decisions. They are the basics. We won't make a mistake getting rid of any of them. Everybody knows this. Rangnick knows this. Lets just get on with it.

I suppose as long as he chooses his own assistant it doesn't really matter if their ex-United or not.

Wouldn't a good manager want to make all of those decisions for himself once he's gotten the job and can properly assess the squad?

Yes. Have you not been following. He wants to be included in all ins, exits and contract renewals.

He already chose and they are not ex-United. We know why the ex United lot were linked

It's just jorno's making up stories. United need assistants, let's link a former United player or coach. Being a football journo is the easiest job in the world. I'll make up 100 words, give me my money. It's why the Athletic was supposedly formed, to try to improve the quality of articles written.

I doubt it since its happened with all previous managers since Moyes. And we know for a fact Giggs was being groomed to succeed LVG

Why would EtH want crap coaches to work with when he can bring in people like van de Gaag who he knows and trusts? When Poch was linked we had to buy all if his back room team. All 7 of them including his son from PSG for £20m but EtH has to accept former United players. Smells like bull to me. It has hurt Rangnick that he couldn't get who he wanted to help him.

Isn't this exactly the same position we've been in since the 'verbal' agreement was announced?

I think they needed to tie up some details of his contract before they were going to approach Ajax about a release payment.

That's want the DOF is for. EtH will be a head coach not DOF. Overmars built the squad for EtH to coach.

Your words not mine! You’re just parroting things you know nothing about.

Guy hasn’t even taken over and fans are demanding who he gets to coach the team. Half the fans have no feckin idea who coaches who. We have some excellent coaches, we’ve gotten rid of numerous coaches this season. ETH will work with his team of qualified coaching staff and direct them to what he wants, they don’t work independently, they follow instructions. Who they used to play for has zero to do with how good they are.

If Ralf goes off his experience of playing Jones, then 1 match and probably MotM is his report. Can’t quite fathom how he’s not gotten more appearances, he’s fit and those ahead of him are all over the place passing attackers onto to zones no one is in.

Not sure why you are asking me when I have never suggested that is what he wants.
