Easy to be reactive after a performance but if we’re being honest here, this has been 2 years of appalling football from him.

We need to get rid now, he’s taking a space at this point that otherwise could go to a youngster or a player we could bring in and who would at least try. I’ve never thought Rashford was the most gifted of players so never had the highest expectations for him. What I cant forgive though is the sheer lack of effort. There’s just nothing from him at this point, if I wasn’t so angry with him I’d actually feel a little sorry for him.

It’s time to part ways and give both sides an opportunity to get better.

Should leave as doesn't seem he has his heart at the club in the last 18 months. Can't have players just not trying when things are down. Speaks a lot about their character

As bad as he's become it would be wiser to see if the new manager can sort him out and get him performing again. Something obviously radically wrong with the lad.

It's getting harder and harder to defend him. I'd still like to see him under Ten Hag because we've already got several players who won't be here next season and there are players in this squad who we have never seen be good (although of our full backs barring Shaw have never looked competent and Shaw has had plenty of bad spells himself) so I'd be wary of giving up on one who has been really good for us in the past. That being said it wouldn't be be outrageous given how long it's been since he showed anything and his demeanour on the pitch is really concerning.

When Telles was dragged out of position, time after time and Reece James was clear in no man’s land, where was Rashford who should have been tracking back?
Nowhere, walking around in midfield or on the half way line.
He showed a bit of effort for about 15 minutes in the first half and then gave up.
Bye Bye. Marcus.

He’s clearly stopped trying for the club he claims to support, and who pays him £200k every single week. He only doesn’t get the Maguire/Pogba treatment for one reason: he’s homegrown (I know Pogba came through the academy too, but he left before he rose to prominence). For me, the fact that he’s homegrown makes this sheer lack of effort, despite him not even carrying an injury any more after his surgery, even worse.

I mean, Ronaldo, for me the greatest footballer to ever live, and who is 37 and has absolutely nothing to prove, tries much, much harder than him.

Sell in the summer. We’ll be lucky to get close to £50m.

The problem is that we've given outrageously expensive contracts to players like Rashford who don't deserve or earn it, making them impossible to move on without taking a complete loss.

Maguire very well may be the absolute worst signing in terms of fee and wages in the history of English football. How are we suppose to move him on or get out from underneath his contract?

We've spent Ferrari money on a Reliant Robin.

Reckon him to Newcastle would be a decent result for both. Can't imagine he'd accept it though.

I'm the exact opposite. I almost fear he'll get chance after chance albeit being complete crap even under ETH. Just bin him.

This will be a good test if United are real about actually improving. If Rashford gets a contract after serving up shite for nearly 2 years to protect an “asset” then we know this club isn’t serious about winning.

When does his current contract end.
2024.

To those that want him to be given another season, I’m sure you’ll all be complaining why the club didn’t extend his contract when he leaves on a free transfer.

Absolutely want to see if ETH can help him rediscover his form. Should be allowed next season and hope for the best

He has absolutely no concept of how lucky he is. Spoilt beyond belief if he thinks he’s worth a tenth of his current wage.

He needs to go, along with Maguire if the club really want to make a statement that they are changing.

This is a crucial moment . The Glazers are going to have to change their policies if they really want to turn the club around (and actually make sustainable changes which will give them more money eventually!)

Rashfords attitude is absolutely shocking.

I’m sorry but any currency he thinks he has earned from his charity work is completely outweighed and obliterated by his frankly offensive behaviour in the last year or so on the pitch. We are in a huge crisis in this country with families literally choosing between heating or eating and this joker is creaming 200k a week to visibly not give a toss on the pitch.

We then have Maguire’s behaviour on the pitch (to be fair he is less blatant in terms of I think he tries but just doesn’t play well), and off the pitch with his comments about the fact he is being picked every week absolving any accountability.

The culture needs to be changed. I would make an example of Rashford and sell him at a loss to send a message to everyone else.

But the question is- how far are our board and owners willing to go to implement the changes that are needed and put the club first?

We’d be lucky to get more than £30m.
Buying out his contract would cost Utd around £21m, so selling him for anything more than £25m and we’re quids in.

.
You’re probably right. I can’t even see the likes of Barcelona, PSG or Newcastle doing it anymore.

It's the attitude which worries me the most, kid clearly thinks hes above the rest including his managers hence why he doesnt feel the need to heed their advice and we are about to bring a new batch of young talented players into our first team, do you want Marcus to lead them? to show them example?

He claims to love the club and is said to idolize Ronaldo. Well that's probably just PR because he's playing for the club he supposedly loves, and his (38 year old who's won it more) idol is out there doing more running than him.

It's kind of a shame how he has turned out.

Would be even more of a shame if we extended his contract with improved terms.

I would love nothing more than have the old version of Rashford back, the one Version I felt in love and was my favorite football player for quite some time....but my dear.

It's unbeliveable how bad he is at the moment. Absolutely useless. Does near to nothing defensively and is not involved offensively. It reached the stage that I'm actually surprised when he gets the ball and doesn't feck it up. I noticed, while last year the likes of Bruno, Matic etc. looked to pass it to him a lot, they ignore him more and more these days. Quite telling.

Nevertheless, as i wrote a few weeks ago, I would still give him one more chance under ETH. If he still isn't up for the task or the new managers expectations then it will be time to sell next summer. My heart still hopes for a miracolous turnaround next season.

His performance pissed me off immensely today. I can understand the complete lack of confidence, but it should not be an excuse for the lack of defending on Reece James. Allowed him to playmake like he is Alexander-Arnold today.

I certainly wouldn't want him to get a new contract but there's so many players that are complete crap or will be gone that I'd be wary of getting rid of 1 who actually could be good. We've got to be a bit realistic too, we're probably only buying 3 or 4 players in total this summer and we're already going to be 2 attackers down on where we were when Solskjaer left even with Martial coming back and Ronaldo now being 37.

That was disgraceful imo. Telles - who is hardly a physical player to start with - was left entirely alone for the first half. Rashford could not be bothered to get back. Which pulled Matic over to essentially do Rashford's job, which then left McT one against three in the centre.

I would have hauled him off after 10 minutes.

If someone were to offer 40m pounds, we should would bite their hand off. Clear as day he should be sold given his attitude. His value is only going to decline from here.

Sell where? To who? I don't see acceptable sums coming in, we can't keep stating that Newcastle are going to buy everyone. I can imagine people sneering at that and replying that 5 million would be acceptable, but realistically he's on ludicrous amounts of money which dictates where he can go and the club will not view him as somebody to boot out the backdoor for a couple of mill.

Reminds me of Martial. We had heaps saying sell and we'll get X amount that was totally out of kilter with his form and desirability in terms of investment for a buying side. What happened...we pretty much had to beg a side to take him on loan and all sensible observers were telling people about this and to put the computer game away. Just because Marcus has handed out some school dinners doesn't mean someone is coming in heavy for him.

Nope, our only hope is ETH gets a hold of Marcus and whips him into something approaching shape. Then sell when his stock is at least climbing.
