Oh yeah, just trying to jinx it early.

Funny that you would do anything for the league and City would do anything for the CL and yet both teams find the other much easier.
That’s the paradox - it’s “futbol eritege”. City don’t sweat the league as they’ve done it so many times they feel it’s their right. Same for scousers in the CL. Same for RM in the CL.

I was so sure City would win it this year... let's just hope BT don't have the drowned rat tosser in the studio on final night (fowler). I can't see Madrid outscoring Liverpool

Glad that Fernandinho won’t get his hands on the trophy. Also £100m Gucci Grealish. What a flop he’s turned out to be.

On the champions league final, Real Madrid need all the help. Can that fat ass Hazard turn up for one game for Madrid, just one ? And the forgotten man who won them the CL before, Gareth Bale , just for the last time in your last game. Come on Gareth just give us one of your legendary performances one last time.

Hala Madrid.

Just seen the goals... Diaz turned into Maguire for a three-minute spell! Seriously, I can't see Madrid beating Liverpool although it could be 5-3!

Liverpool will lead 2-0 and Madrid will make a crazy comeback. Their players absolutely relish the occasion.

Ancelotti has some big calls to make.

Does he start Rodrygo and Camavinga?

What about Valverde? Does he move him into MF, or drop him entirely from the starting the line up?

I personally think for all his qualities, Kroos shouldn’t start. He’s too pedestrian and isn’t offering enough in open play at the moment.

Even though Liverpool are favourites, I don't think you can write off Madrid, strange things happen in finals.
Also, Madrid could easily dominate the midfield, and hopefully Alaba is available to play, he brings a lot of composure in possession, which could free Modric a little more to damage Liverpool.

Willing to bet Benzema has a horror... Liverpool's luck at times has been beyond normal

You make your own luck. We can talk about luck in one, 2 games at the most. But to make the final over those kind of opponents is not just luck.
Sure Liverpool is a better team but you can make a claim City was a better team, so was PSG or Chelsea or at least on par.

People were saying Chelsea will pass Madrid easily.
They were saying PSG are favourites.
City were favourites too supposedly.

You just cant deny their strong mentality and something they have about CL in general and its not mostly luck imo although luck plays a part of course.
There's no magical force in football that stops luck being luck after just two games.

They were maybe slightly lucky across both legs against PSG, they were definitely lucky across both legs against Chelsea and they were definitely lucky across both legs against City. As reflected in the chances they repeatedly handed their opponents versus the chances they made themselves.

Maybe they'll be lucky against Liverpool too, maybe they'll play better, but I'd generally back the better performing team.

Haha, I don't think anyone can- it is entertaining. Your CL- run this year kind of reminds one about your league ending in 2007.
Let's hope for the same ending

For our final trick, we'll spot them a 3 goal lead, then Camavinga and Rodrygo come on and we score 4 goals in 6 minutes to win it

Aggregate xG suggests otherwise. Depending on the model, we were only lucky against either PSG or Chelsea. The other 2 ties were very close

xG isn't the be all end all, but the truth is we haven't been outplayed as badly as people think. It's the fact that we produce a lot in bursts while being "outplayed" for large stretches that might fool people into thinking that

It definitelty depends on the model:

Were we favourites against Barcelona in 2009? I can't remember the last time an English club was the favourites going into the CL final against a non English club.

Liverpool go in as solid favorites, but if Camavinga plays instead of Kroos from the start I think they've got a shot.

Let’s hope there’s still some fuel in the tank for Real, come the final.

And Benz will go down with the best individual CL season from a player, like, ever

Most Liverpool Fans and pundits think they have won the CL already. A bit similar to the last time they met in the final.

Vini Jr will cause Trent a lot of problems and Real have good options in midfield too. Real can start preparing for the final now and have 3 weeks to get all their players fit and ready, while Liverpool have 5 important games to squeeze in. This can lead to fatigue and injuries.

It will be closer than people think.

As a football fan I am looking forward to the final. Should be a good watch. CL finals are always 50:50 no matter what, although I also believe Liverpool will be favorites.

no-one in particular
Why is the poll not 90% + for a Real win?
Behause we're not all Manchester United fans I guess. Also, just because RM appears to be a wee bit more modest in the last couple of years (super league aside) I'll never forget that they always represented the "biggest money club" for as long as I can think of.

Hope for a humiliating 4:0 beating of 'em personally :D

Liverpool has had the easiest CL run in history, with Real running the absolute gaunlet.

At this point I’m almost convinced Real do this on purpose, winning normally is boring. So they let the opponent have some fun and give them hope before taking it all away.

Or we just shithouse our way through somehow.

There's only one United!
Don't you think that it's a pity that Sergio Ramos is not around?

At least this gives us someone to cheer for in the final. City-Liverpool was like which eye do you want a fork stuck into.

We were considering their injuries and the fact we made mincemeat of Arsenal in the CL semis + made a 2nd straight final.

That final was way closer than the media has portrayed it since.

We could have played better, but Ronaldo wanted to win playing solo and I thought SAF should have started Ronaldo out wide to go at Puyol. But you can't win them all.

Still, they didn't dominate us anywhere near the extent they did 2 years later.

Marcelo is fit, bit Mendy has kept him out of the lineup and rightly so, he's been one of Madrid's most consistent players this season.

I wish I will get it wrong but Liverpool are a different animal to PSG, Chelsea and City and they are big favourites for this final.

They have a mix of all the strongest points those other teams had: clinical strikers (PSG), intensity (Chelsea) and technical and tactical brilliance (City).

On top of that they also have the right mentality in adverse situations as a club. Remember 2005 vs Milan or this last semifinal vs Villarreal, overcoming 3-0 and 2-0 results respectively. Not to mention they will want revenge for what happened in 2018 and 2021.

And what to say about Klopp. He's at least as good as Guardiola but he makes his teams more adaptable to different scenarios.

A really scary prospect.

It's scary for them too.

They aren't invincible.
