I think people need to check out for the season. We’ve got one game left, yes there is pride to play for but I think the team are just done with the season too.

Despite the hyperbole we’ve seen these type of late season results many times with other teams.

I think a lot of people will be surprised at how much can change over a summer. 10-15 players leaving and 3-5 coming in. A new coach. They bond over pre-season and a new dressing room dynamic is formed.
Agreed.

We need some good signings and a solid pre season. Start the season strong and things will look very different.

I just hope ETH can mesh this team together quickly as they look so lost out there right now. The way Brighton carved through us with ease is just ridiculous for a club like ours.

Heck of an achievement from Bruno to already make me resent him more as captain than Antonio Valencia. Completely hapless as a leader for any team.
The feck do you want him to say when he is outright asked the question?

"Pfft they can feck off, I am great and earn loads of money and have nice cars."

Pride to play for? You need to have a proper look at the table. Chances are West Ham will get another 2 wins which will put them ahead of us on goal difference. We’ve lost 5 away games in a row, if we lose another we’re likely heading to the Conference League.

"What I did today was not enough to be in the Manchester United shirt."

Bruno Fernandes' reaction to Man United fans singing "You're not fit to wear the shirt" during their defeat to Brighton

Weekly platitudes and a fat check at the end of it. Must be nice

It's interesting that he also said that whilst it's been really bad, he signed his new contract after getting assurances on how the future is going to be at the club.

Not all great, I reckon being the only one of our players who is in the top ten in the league for distance covered is probably a bit annoying when you see the effort levels of some of his teammates.

I really don't want to defend anyone in the squad today but I honestly think Bruno does care and really tries which I could not say for all of them.

Sell every single one of them, they're either gash (Mctominay/Lindelof/Dalot) or past it (Matic/Varane) or just don't care (Rashford, Pogba, Cavani)

Take Ronaldo away, hate the lot of them.

Maguire deflects blame in post match interview - "Coward"

Bruno takes blame and admits he was shit - "Pathetic"

I'm not saying his performance wasn't pathetic but I have more respect for someone that owns up than someone who refuses to acknowledge their faults.

*Not bashing Maguire here (I actually think he was your best player when he came on) just pointing out that at this moment in time there are no Right answers at United.

At least Bruno admits his failures as you say. But it's embarrassing.

I've been a United fan for 30 years, grew up only knowing SAF and his standards. It's been totally embarrassing this season what we have seen.

It's not surprising to me the two candidates for PotS are the two that spent time under SAF.

Culture, system, play style, philosophy, PR, reset, cliques, dynamic etc etc pure and utter shit the whole lot of it. One of the most expensively assembled teams in football history need their hands held to get up for games against teams earning 1/10 of what they are? They are a disgrace to the game, to the millions of fans around the world and to all the people who would kill to be in their position in life. These are grown men going to work acting like babies in front of the whole world. Weak

Standards, from top to bottom are in the pits. Players have gotten away with it since Jose left.

Fun fact, in the 2008/09 season, we finished with a +58 goal difference. We have 57 goals alone this season with a game to go.

Depressing stuff!

A bum who scored nearly 30 goals last season and created more chances than any other player in the best league in the world and is also in the top 10 for workrate (distance covered). Sure thing.

Bruno was a bit more direct in his answer but we've had the "just not good enough" standard answers all season.

They said they'd "regroup, work hard, go again" etc each time but what they 'do about it' changes nothing.

They clearly can't fix it, I'd appreciate the insight into why it can't be fixed.

As unqualified for the job as RR is, I honestly believe a League 2 manager should be able to get a respectable display out of these players against teams like Brighton. So what's the truth?

Man United 0-5 Liverpool
Liverpool 4-0 Man United
Brighton 4-0 Man United
Watford 4-1 Man United
Man City 4-1 Man United
Leicester 4-2 Man United.
This is crazy to see in black and white. What a year

Forget it, these players already tune out. They are staring into blank space when RR is talking. They seriously don't care about RR or Utd with a big fat paycheck every week. There is so much negativity that they don't even care if they are there next season. Hiring RR as coach was a bad call, he maybe a good coach but if you can't get the team to listen then it is pointless. RR is too candid, these players wants to be coax to play well. They want another Ole style manager who they are step all over. If I am ETH, any sense that the player is no longer connected, I will sell him immediately. Only players who wants to be here will stay. There should be a conversation with each player sitting with their agent along side so they get the picture of how serious we are taking this.

That said what else is he supposed to say ?
They were all fecking wank and don’t dress it up

Don't really care either way. Put out some good performances, it's all that matters.

People praising Bruno for being honest, no he is not, you can see fake all over him, PR move thats about it, also using word "today" as well. One thing is for sure, pricks really trying hard with whole statement PR bullshit. Good that we gave him a new contract, funny how shit works for us, results/performances going down while their weekly wages going up.

I was hoping our poor decision days were behind us but I can't really understand how you can reward his poor performances with a new contract. As in what is even the login behind such a call?

My biggest issue with his contract extension is that they extended it a year to soon, not only in simple time scale term but also like you said now it looks he got a pay rise for performing piss poor, they are really bunch of morons.

Christ this place is toxic as feck.
Just think how we all used to laugh at RAWK and their next season is our season mentality. Retaining some healthy optimism myself without getting carried away, fail to see why a lot of our fans support the club as it seems to be unbearable for them and they should feckoff and go find something better for their mental health.

Not as toxic as the dressing room for sure and definitely, toxic positivity fans have a role to play in this club’s spiral into mediocrity.
I'm sure there was a rumour that Juventus' dressing room was toxic last season. Wonder what the common denominator may be !!!

Yes you wait till the player shows his quality and proves he's worth the pay surely? We're effectively paying for his form last season or the season before which is weird.

I honestly only liked ronaldo in this squad.

The rest ... Not even indifference, can't stand them and their attitude. And ole, how in earth can he as an ex legend under saf tutelage tolerate this?

Giving varane and sancho a pass this season.

The players have been harangued all season by the press, opposition fans and their own. They've gone beyond the point of caring and become deeply cynical as a byproduct. At the end of the day they are human beings. You get enough criticism from enough people you eventually just think 'feck it.' This becomes locked in. Regardless of what I do I'll be criticised anyway so why should I care? Will be the attitudes.

Hopefully a reset next year will improve this culture. Regardless of how these players have performed they are all human beings and will want to feel valued and appreciated. Some of those poor performers with the right attitudes will improve next year I'm sure. Those with shitty attitudes to begin with like Pogba and Lingard should be gone anyway.
Thank feck there is only one more game to go.
A reasonable post but missing key points - no need to use the ol `they are human beings` argument. It doesn`t fit this situation. These are multi millionaires, some of whom warm the bench more than play yet still get rewarded for not playing much in one season by money that the great majority of human beings in the UK and elsewhere will never come close to even if they are actually keeping society going whether it`s taking away the trash, cleaning restrooms, serving people in supermarkets or eating places, policing to make it safe, educating the young or being providers of medical services etc etc.

These United players and many others are the epitome of privilege. Nobody is saying they shouldn`t take advantage of the wealth on offer for being a professional sportsperson - but most of us are saying they need to do their job professionally and it is notable that somebody like Christiano Ronaldo who has won it all, is fabulously wealthy and famous is still hungry to be the best on the pitch and gives utmost value to the club and to the fans every time he plays.

All we are asking is that all the United players do the same. The stories being put around that somehow Ronaldo was causing problems in the dressing room are the product of the envious, the toxic, and the unmotivated players United now has - whoever they really are behind closed doors.

Arsene Wenger said it years ago in an interview in a British football mag - something along the lines of `We now have players who are in the squad, don`t play much and are happy to be on the bench but receive millions of pounds for it - what does this do to their motivation?` He was speaking on how professional football had changed, not about any particular club but this fits United`s situation.

And of course much of this is to do with recruiting - for too long United has lacked the senior players with winning attitudes who can pull the others in line when they`re stepping out of it or not giving enough. Although player power is evident in the Premier League, it is up to clubs to decide just what kind of culture they are going to have. Sir Alex had no problem getting rid of talented players who undermined his authority or the club`s in whatever way.

This was the year we were supposed to challenge. Ffs.
The charade ended, the fluking stopped and the luck ran out early on. It had to and anyone not actually blind could see it coming. This season does not hurt as much as the fact that the previous two years were wasted on a useless cause. This season was the outcome of that.

We have been shite for 10 years though.

It’s just been exposed this season thanks for ralf coming in. Probably needed to happen in all honesty.
