Do the gnomes in the VAR hut just drift off to sleep sometimes? Or are they busy on their phones or something to miss those calls?

It certainly would be. And for Bruno or Ronaldo, too.

As a fan though I'd rather not every collision with minimal contact was given as a pen. Especially when a player goes looking for it instead of just playing on
Oh absolutely, penalties are a ridiculously imbalanced punishment imo, and should get some major changes. But still shouldn't vary this much match to match!

I don't think it's a penalty at all. It appears the forum is split 50/50 even when looking at it multiple times. VAR has done its job here as it's not a clear and obvious error.
I dunno. He clearly caught the attacker with a dangling leg as he was running full pelt. Alright, he made the fall look dramatic but he was clearly tripped.

Did VAR even check the second one? What's going on? Huddersfield are being royally fecked here.

When a defender puts his leg/foot out in the path of a running opposition forward and gets nowhere near the ball, the forward has two options: 1) run straight into the defenders leg/foot and risk injuring himself, or 2) try pulling his legs away from or jump over the defender's leg/foot to avoid hard contact and possible injury.

Should the ref really give different decisions depending on the forwards decision in the above scenario?

Not as clear as the first one, but should probably have had their second penalty there.

Moss obviously dosen't want to give a pen in final match.

Didn't think much of earlier appeal that had VAR check, this recent one more obvious with more contact.

VAR really should also include something like "a significant infringement unseen by the referee". Bit mental that we can all see that was a penalty and nothing happens

Actually thought that was much clearer than first where there looked a tiny clip if that.

Very clumsy from Lowe, not sure on his fitness but surprised Huddersfield didn't start Duane Holmes. Given them more power since he came on.

Was hardly a dangerous tackle he had to avoid for his own safety. More likely to injury himself from the ridiculous starfish.

Tiny clip? Did you see the replays? He is running at the defender who sticks his leg out, getting none of the ball but hitting the the attackers leg.

2 doesn't preclude landing in a normal way. I imagine that's what went against him in this case

I'm rooting for Forest and our own Jimmy, but that was a Grand Theft Penalty... Shame that England can't address the lack of fairness in refereeing even though they have all the tools needed...
