According to Marca, Nadal will skip Wimbledon and then decide how to proceed with the rest of his season.

This edition of Roland Garros might have 1028 days left if we don't get on with it.

Makes sense. The Roland Garros is a big push for him right now, with the huge physical toll in recent days. No point in adding more punishment to his body for a court he's not best suited for anyway.

Is that Bethe Correira ?
Where?

Seeing a lot of empty seats. How can a French Open men's semi be so poorly attended ?
I think it might have something to do the with the ticket system. I think you could buy tickets that allow you to stay for both games, but a lot of those buyers are hipsters with money just there to see Rafa, so they went home after that match?

“Hipsters” has lost all meaning.

I wonder what Cilic thinks might happen if he bounced the ball 741 instead of 743 times before serving?

The best clay player of all time vs the best clay player since 2020. Should be a good final and hopefully Rafa wins it.
What!? How is Ruud best clay player since 2020? There are like 10 players better than him on clay since 2020.

Can't remember the exact number, but he has won over 70 games (clay) in the last 2 years.
This is his first final on a clay tournament that is Masters or better event. Sure, he has played decent in this tournament and is a solid clay player, but second best to players that actually won clay masters in past 2 years, nope. Not even close to second best.

If Nadal is okay physically I’m not convinced Ruud can hurt him enough to win but it’s entirely possible Nadal could wake up on Sunday sufficiently hampered to stop him being competitive. He might be one of the rare players who doesn’t have to play out of his skin to beat Nadal in a Slam final (though, in reality, I suspect he’s going to take a bit of a beat down).

Fantastic storyline. Ruud meeting his hero for the first time ever in a competitive match at the finals of RG.

Missed all of todays and yesterday's tennis but I think Ruud may struggle with the pressure of playing his first grandslam final but also playing his idol. Tend to see fan boys of Nadal and Federer wilt in awe of their idols. Sure he will settle eventually but would expect him to struggle early doors.

Agree. I don’t think he will have much of chance tbh. Still, he will be thrilled just to be there.

Yeah they've not played before but from a match up perspective it doesn't seem like a good one for him on paper either.

Rafa's also one of the most unique players on the tour. I doubt many players have ever got the best of him on their first match up

That's true. Only thing that may work in his favour is that they've practiced together a lot at Nadal's academy but that is probably more beneficial to Nadal than him.

First match ups can also go against top players who initially struggle a bit to adjust to a players game. But these two have trained a lot together so should not be a huge issue.

Damn...Get well soon Zverev.

Neverthless, not Human what Rafa is showing day by day. If his injuries were that bad he wouldn't be able to play on that intensity. He is either a bit of a showman or Dr. Fuentes is his best friend.
Fuentes was Federer’s best friend as well when he came back from 6 months out at age 37 to win the AO beating Nadal in a 5-setter.

Hope Gauff can win today but not sure she has much of a chance. Almost feel she has to win in straight sets today.

Predictions?

I'm thinking Swiatek in two sets with the first set being a tight one, either 7-5 or 7-6 and then a more routine second set.

6-2 6-1 Swiatek.
