I’m talking about the likes of Milner, Matip, to lesser extent Jota and Firmino, I can name few more too.. Even if we had Mane (which many people were against when we were in for him) and Salah, I don’t think they would be the same players as they are now under Klopp.. I agree with what you said to a certain extent though, obviously I much rather us have better players than Pereira, but unfortunately this is where we are currently.. Also I personally wasn’t fan of Ole’s coaching, so it’s hard to really judge some of these players based on the coaching the received in the past few seasons and the recurring theme of players being decent when bought but decline when they come here and that ranges from supposedly world class/good players to prospects.. Players who are lazy and don’t put the effort in is a different story though (some of that blame falls on the coaching too).
I am talking about Pereira specifically. He had been playing under many different coaches now, so we can safely say that there is not much potential in him to be unlocked by even greatest coaching in the world. Else, then we would be expecting ETH to be miracle worker.

The Milner, Matip, or Jota, Firmino made their career at top flight level clubs. It's more comparable to DvB which we hope ETH can extract the talent from. Also, I am praying the potential gametime, coaching should be focused on someone like Garner, or even young guy like Hannibal.

He’s a midfielder, so may be needed cause we are short on midfielders.

I agree, I’m mainly talking about players like Sancho (some fans writing him off already), Bruno, Shaw, Rashford, DVB, even Fred and Dalot (maybe), also hoping one of the current deadwood surprise us, but not holding my breath.. And I’m hoping the for same regarding your second point.

ETH gets the chance to be proven wrong. i'm not expecting a productive transfer window. In fact if we don't get our priorities (De Jong / Darwin / Timber) then i fully expect a few "Dan James" type buys. So we are going to have to take a chance on the squad, even when they don't deserve it, simply because they are known products.

Makes me want to vomit watching these same losers get another chance, and hopefully we can get our targets, but we are going to have to suffer for our sins for a few more windows.

Is he gonna bring his own fitness coach? Current ones at United should all be fired/get rid.

Is it actually quite likely that ETH will be sacked sooner rather than later? What are the odds of us having yet another new manager next summer?

Seems insanely negative to even entertain such thinking. He's barely been in the job a few weeks.

The latest big Athletic article on Man Utd being shit for years came out today

Within it there was an interesting line that Ten Hag is leading recruitment this Summer

He can't bin the entire team. They'll all be replaced in time
They’re two players who go against everything his system stands for. Playing out from the back and pressing from the front, not really happy seeing him compromise from the off. He’s never going to be more powerful than he is now.

I'm not the biggest fan of De Gea or Ronaldo, and I believe there are far better players out there more suited to Ten Hag's style. But being realistic, replacing them isn't a priority in our first transfer window. There are a lot of glaring weaknesses in the team and a lot of shit players ; practically every position needs improving. Even City and PSG wouldn't be able to rebuild an entire team in one summer and replace platers like De Gea and Ronaldo

Besides, no bastard would buy them anyway as their wages are obscene. Ronaldo will be gone in a year and De Gea probably the year after.

They're on the best part of a million pounds a week and no club with that sort of money is going to want them so he might as well get some use out of them. It's not possible to clear out a huge chunk of the squad and buy the majority of a new starting 11 in one summer, it's about putting a couple of key pieces together and seeing the first hints of a good team like Klopp did in his first year or so.

Not binning De Gea and Ronaldo is something of a red flag as far as I’m concerned.
I still don't doubt that Ronaldo will be off if a CL club comes in later in the window, he's not stupid and knows he'll be retired by the time we're challenging again, but isn't asking to go as he doesn't know himself if anyone will want him yet, DDG is less of an issue, and I reckon ETH will make it work for a couple of seasons.

Hope he's taking English lessons every day. Some of the worst English I've heard from an educated Dutchman.

I mean, if we don't sign the right players then it's a strong possibility yes. Luckily Luis Enrique will be available in January.

Erik ten Hag is definitely not getting sacked whatever happens, but I agree that a season as bad as this one is very likely. I'd definitely put us out of contention for Top 4. The squad will still have a handful of shitters in it. And we have yet to sign even one of Ten Hag's designated targets. And the World Cup in the middle of the season definitely doesn't help when just starting a rebuild.

Still, the article is a meme one.

It's a fair point. Ideally he would get rid of both, it shouldn't be that hard to find a more suitable striker for his system who can also score 20 league goals a season. As for DDG, he is nowhere near good enough.

Unlike City however and their unlimited funds, Pep could bin whoever he wanted when he took over. I dont think we can and so I think we are stuck with both for now. Both have only 12 months left however.

It’s almost as if we’ve just had the worst Premier League season in our history.
I’m as pessimistic about the club as anyone but we’ve just hired one of the most exciting up and coming managers in the world and we haven’t even seen pre-season under him yet!

I’ve seen other clubs in far worse states than us make a miraculous recovery with good coaching, so I’m hopeful we can do well under Ten Hag.

Not this old chestnut again. Poch couldn’t even speak English when he first went to spurs. As long as he gets his ideas across the rest will follow

I'm not sure I could think of a more suitable striker for Ten Hag's system than Ronaldo tbh. Maybe Haaland? Or Son? If he can get any kind of tune out of the rest of the team I think Ronaldo will be scoring for fun next year.

And the idea that 20 goals a season strikers are easy to find these days is pretty funny, maybe you should have a look at the Prem top scorer chart for the season gone.
