So Frenkie's the big will he won't he for the summer is he?

If there aren't other massive signings made the club will struggle to match last season's finish.
Baring in mind we now have a very good manager who breathes life into football. He’ll surely get a better tune out of this current squad then any previous manager has. We’ll get at least 3 new signings. We’ll easily come top 4 next season.

3 new first team signings and I'd be hopeful. But there isn't a Man Utd team from this squad that can all play the same style of football together. And the lack of quality in the team is glaring.

I have 0 faith in us coming top 4, let alone easily. I would be happy with a proper go at top 4. (with some additional wishes like style of play, youngsters etc)

I'm a bit worried that he's got so many lawyers and agents. If the number of missing household pets start to drop in Barcelona after he moves then someone should look into that before we have another scandal.

Has anyone even checked that he isn’t related to cat bin lady? That’s the kind of obvious thing this club wouldn’t look into.

Weird how they are pushing this when Nurse says we haven't bid yet

fecking hell, now that you mention it I've noticed the club being VERY quiet on that subject. I knew this deal would be terrible somehow, just like Di Maria.

This signing would work; not the first time a Top (perhaps not TopTop) player has "failed" with Barca, only to reach (or recapture) his Top status when they signed for another club: Riquelme, Zambrotta, Alexis Sánchez, Cesc Fábregas, Coutinho, now F.de Jong, etc.

BBC only listen to the official line of the club. We obviously won't confirm a bid until it's accepted.

Negotiations have been going on for 10 days apparently, 'talks' are essentially the 'bid' that we think of, but only once contracts/papers are sent officially is a bid in so to speak.

Liverpool negotiate a fee - great structure, efficient transfer work.

Utd negotiate fee - just pay the fecking money followed by after player arrives, we are shit at negotiation.
Either we have some of the dumbest fans or the most ignorant.

We need to pay up. There isn't an alternative of comparable quality to De Jong. This pre-historic charade that United insist on playing isn't fooling anyone. It's all just PR.
I remember two years ago people said the same thing about Donnie.
Frenkie needs the right parts around him to make it work. Him alone without them will be another Donnie

Anyone know why Barca/Xavi don't want De Jong to replace Busquets as the holding midfielder?

I get that they might want Pedri and Kessie to play as number 8's over De Jong, but it's strange that they don't want him to play deeper when it was the position he did well in at Ajax.

I'm ashamed of you all.
Page me when there's a clear sight of Frenkie's Le Dong.

I genuinely don’t remember anyone saying that. In fact many of us were saying he doesn’t quite fit at all…

He's a saleable asset on a high salary. They are pushing him out for financial reasons.

Reports I've seen, says FDJ still wants to stay and has no preference about other clubs.

So again, we are pursuing a player that has no genuine interest of playing for us, but may sign if he has no other choice.

Wonderful.

Probably means “official bid” I think we often will bud for a player unofficially until we know it will be accepted then we make the official one.
Yeah too many people/journalists consider negotiating equal to a bid. To me a bid is an official statement/document to a team. Negotiating is more of a conversation between the teams involved to determine what the official bid should be.

Yeh I believe that too. Rumoured to be on over 300k euros a week.

I guess they just want a cheaper alternative and they'll have to accept they paid him too high a salary when they signed him.

Maybe they had to pay to get him over another club at the time. Football wise he seems he could definitely succeed Busquets.

So you chose to only believe the negative reports then.
