In what ways are we a stacked team? We've just lost a ton of experience and haven't replaced any of it yet
Sancho, Rashford, Elanga, Amad, Pellestri, Garnacho all for attacking positions. looking to add Antony also.

I just don't think an attacker would look at our squad and think yeah i'll be getting first team football there soon.

Good move for him, in my opinion. If he has the potential we think he has, he will have the chance to improve and register a lot of game time next year at Palace. I am sure we will keep tabs on him moving forward.

Liverpool just signed an 18 year old RB.
Liverpool had Neco Williams and not a lot else backing up Trent and have managed his development well enough that they are selling him for around 15M this window and so they are replacing him with a cheaper back up who may well follow the same route. Not exactly the same scenario as adding another wide attacker to our squad who would be probably only a rotational option for our U23s at this stage.

Sees what happened to Amad, Pellestri and Dan James and thinks...I fancy taking a smaller step?

It's sensible.

He has a far better chance of consistent minutes at Palace. It's a good decision on his part.

If he takes the next step his time will come. If I was him I'd be making a similar decision.
Chelsea have a small army of players on loan season after season who never see first team action. They don’t seem to have any issues convincing players to sign anyways.

Not sure why anyone is saying it makes sense for him. His path to the first team at Palace is probably harder than it is here

He looked bang average to me so happy we're not adding another wildcard at RW. We need someone more established.

Up and coming players just don't want to go to stacked teams anymore, and I can't really blame them.

He will get way more chances at Palace than he would here. We will probably buy him for 70m in 2 years anyway.
It’s hardly because we’re stacked. We’re actually crying out for someone with his profile albeit one with a bit more experience.

The problem for us is that we now have an unfortunate reputation of being where talented players careers go to die with victims including Rashford, Martial, Dan James, Amad , Memphis, VdB who have massively regressed or stagnated under our coaching.

Combination of both really. We have young players who haven't progressed well apart from Greenwood.

We've got young attackers who can't even get into the side, and more waiting to come into it.

Palace have done really well recently blending youth under Vieira. I can't say I blame him.

Amad and pellistri both on loan and strong rumours we’re looking for a starting right winger anyway. Why would a young player looking for gametime come here?

Sometimes (probably very often), updates are just that. Unconfirmed, and subject to change. Not every update has to get pulses racing and be a huge scoop.
This is more my issue with him, it's of his own making as well. He has turned transfer news into this necessity to have an update on every transfer at beck and call of his followers.

I guess I don't blame him, it's made him a lot of money, but it's a bit tiresome.

Seems bizarre to choose Palace when they have a great young RW in Olise. Teams like Leicester and Everton have nothing there, though that might change this summer anyways. Maybe a slight signal that Zaha is leaving on a free next summer and one will play LW?

That's my point. I was arguing that its not because we're stacked with talent that someone like him would choose not to join us but because we're just a really bad place to come if you want to improve your game. Hopefully EtH can change that going forward.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out why Ebiowei might consider Palace the sensible move at this stage in his career. Unfortunately, this hasn't stopped some from declaring that "the club is in the mud", as we catastrophically miss out on signing a player I guarantee the majority of people here (including myself) have never even seen play.

Whilst I agree with your point re him being a non-entity to a lot of posters, the truth is not too long ago (albeit longer than we’d like) players would have crawled through broken glass to sign for United, whereas now we’re losing out to other clubs for the majority of our rumoured targets.

Eriksen staying at Brentford would just be another example. Getting beaten by Palace and Brentford for targets we were seriously interested in just tells you everything you need to know. And it is not about the money.

Chelsea actually find good loans for their players and will sell if a good offer comes along. If it was a choice between being loaned out by us or Chelsea nowadays I’d also pick them. They are far more aggressive with their youth development and using it as viable revenue stream

Sensible move for him, we've alot of competition out wide if you include our current batch of promising youngsters.

Crystal Palace trying to implement the Dortmund model in England.
Ayye, and whatever they're doing is working wonders considering where they were at only last year. Quite impressive really.

People are just wetting themselves over some kid they had no idea existed until last week. It's just that fear of missing out caused by the likes of Bale, Bellingham etc etc.

My bet is he goes there and ends up back in the Championship or League 1 in a year or two and we never hear of him again until Utd get drawn against QPR or Mk Dons in one of the cups.
