Not about ‘indulging’ him. It’s about giving him the tools he needs to do the job we expect him to do, otherwise what’s the point?
I think it suggests ETH told the scouting team he only wants players he's already worked with in this window.
I can understand that in a way. He will want his system up and running as smoothly and quickly as possible. Then he can start adding more pieces from different leagues and teams to improve it further when necessary.

Regarding the United link, what Sport Witness has highlighted is all that Joaquim Piera covers in the article. Other bits that were not previously reported:

Just sell him. At this point I would consider it a minor victory to recoup 5M on a youth product whose value peaked a couple years ago and has looked average on loan, getting his wages off the books, and clearing up a squad place for an academy player.

Hard to find the words to sum up my dispair at our current predicament.
Because Ronaldo loves CL. He treasures his goal scoring record and will want to preserve it. Giving Messi a season to close the gap would be risky. Ronaldo is the probably the most selfish player in history in that sense, it has drove him to incredible heights. Can't picture Ronaldo playing Europa League.
Would be sad to see him leave but if its for a club with CL next season I wouldn't begrudge him that. Rare shining light in a season of shit

There's nothing indicating that we haven't already. All of the reporting on Andreas Pereira has been one-sided i.e. from Flamengo's perspective. We've got no reports on the European interest, but that doesn't necessarily mean there's nothing to it, merely that the clubs want to keep things quiet (see Gedson Fernandes' Besiktas transfer as an example).
On Andreas' preference, yes, he does want to stay at Flamengo, but he felt the exact same way about Lazio before this. I think he just wants a club where he can play regularly, and whichever club that is, he'll play his heart out for them.
No but why didn't we take them? We're not getting much for him. We haven't been able to sell him for years now.
Berger is reliable with German news so this is likely to be true. Can anyone really blame him? We have no ambition.
