Lovely. This was one of the most exciting links of the summer for me.

Is this necessary? I’d of thought a rb was more of a priority then lb. Not complaining though let’s sign him up!! Sounds like a promising young player who’ll provide competition for Shaw and who will definitely be able to sell on for a big profit in the coming years. 13m is quite cheap aswell. Telles must be getting sold then.

Does this club have a fetish for left sided players? We seem to stockpile left backs and left wingers. Sign some players for the right, for fecks sake.

Good value if he decides to join us.

But we ll have to offload Telles as soon as possible, and don't really know if there are many clubs on him after seeing his level last season.

Nevertheless, a new face challenging Shaw can only benefit our defense and also, happy that we are in for this kind of promising players.

Funnily enough, it was Simon Mullock who first broke the Malacia to United story.

Wasn't there a report that said Ten Hag wasn't impressed at all with Telles against Palace in last game of season. He was seen nodding his head alot from Telles actions on the pitch watching the game.

Telles out the door then.

Why is he so cheap?
He’ll be Feyenoord’s second most expensive departure if the rumoured figures are correct. They don’t have the Ajax tax when selling. This figure is about right to pay for a talented player in the Dutch league not playing for Ajax/PSV. All the more so when it’s a fullback.

Murtough Masterclass! Who do we steal next :keano:
I think the 13m figure is just lazy journalism (taking the Lyon fee). We must've offered more than the French.

Telles is comfortably our worst player and Shaw is injury prone with big swings in form. This guy never misses a game and is cheap.

He's young, but not inexperienced since he's been in Feyenoord's first team since he was 17. He does still have a ways to go to mature his game.

I imagine he's being bought as a back up for Shaw though, since Telles is, well, crap.
no argument that Telles is crap for sure and someone needs to push Shaw to perform at the level we know he can. It wouldn't shock me though to see ETH look at Shaw the for the LCB position similar to what he's done with Blind

Nono, he's far better than Buttner. Especially his mentality, which is absolutely top class. I think your crowd will also love him, since he's extremely tenacious and an agressive tackler.

He's just unrefined and prone to become overenthusiastic in his plays at times.
I remember a Sporting fan saying the exact same things about Rojo. :nervous:

Love these types of signings. Hungry players. Cheap deals. Freshness.

Is he an attacking full back? Likes to get forward? What’s he like for pace and tackling? Can say I’ve heard of him but can’t say I’ve ever seen him play.

I don't get the Telles hatred, he is the only player we have in the current squad who is capable of crossing the ball and taking a corner that beats the first man, would rather play him in an overlap and get rid of Shaw, who lets face it may be a great player when he feels like it but his attitude sucks

I'm sure the Dutch posters here are sick to death of answering this question but what kind of player is he and is he any good?
He has talent, but whether he's got what it takes remains to be seen to be honest. He's an agressive fullback who doesn't give the attacker lots of space and he has pace. I'm not sure he can hold up against a top quality winger, but in all fairness there are few fullbacks that can. In possession he needs to improve. He does have the spead and stamina to overlap, but his timing to make the run and decision making can be better. The same goes for his crossing. Of course you'll find examples of him doing the right thing, like his assist on Weghorst for the NT a few weeks ago, but in general those aspects can definitely improve/be more consistent.

I am not convinced he'll cut it, but also not convinced that he'll fail. He has potential and it's definitely a positive that he'll have a Dutch manager that understands his qualities. He could be a success, but expectations shouldn't be too high. You are not signing Marcelo in his prime.
