Why is it that optimism is praised and pessimism is blasted on here? Two sides of the same coin...

Realism is where it's at.
Because the forum is too often filled with toxic negativity. It's not as though negative news isn't posted, but constant negativity or pessimism is so tiring.

By not stumping up the £80m immediately for a landmark signing like FDJ, the club are defacto not backing the manager. This was the opportunity to make a big statement and as usual they are diddering around like the fools that they are.
See it as they are trying to get the best deal so have money for another couple as well, however agree it's frustrating not to be sorted a week before we fly out on tour

I don't mind realism but some people are pessimistic to a point that is far beyond realism.

Applying a reasonable level of caution is fine but some people on here moan about literally anything the club does. "Why are we spending so much on players? The club is inept!" "Why are we taking so long negotiating deals? Just pay up!"

Ah, OK... But what about people who are far too optimistic?

I think for once maybe not jipping loads of unnecessary extra cash is the statement we should be making. We've made the big signing statement enough to no avail.
Thats true, but for the sake of £10m or so, its a tiny amount when we consider that FDJ should ensure champions league qualification.

I may as well be a negative Nancy, but this saga gives me AdM vibes - star player "forced" to Old Trafford. Hope he will prove me (and any potential other doubters) wrong!

Payment structures are a big deal on such a large transfers to be fair. The issue is how long it takes us to complete the negotiations not that we are bothering to negotiate.

Wasn't it the athletic that mentioned between each proposal for Sancho we had to go back to the glazers first. Other clubs seem to have the freedom to close out negotiations quickly in the room whilst we have to do it over days and weeks.

Sadly those leeches have the final say on the financial element of any transfers, this means we don’t get deals done quick as we should

I bet she is loving the attention of keen United fans viewing her stories on repeat
To be fair it's nice to see a footballer and his partner going to normal Holiday type attractions (even if they are very high end). It makes a pleasant change from Instagram being wall to wall product endorsements and promotion of friends dodgy restaurants / Wine bars / Money laundering cash sinks.

That’s one way to look at it.

Not being fleeced, and still getting in the players the manager wants is in my own opinion, a much better way to run a football club.

Tweets over the past few days said the fee was agreed and it was down to the player's T&Cs so what's with the new negotiations?
I think what was said is that the minimum fee upfront is agreed, but there will be addons that need negotiating.

We sacked Judge :-/

Think he's getting some additional outside legal help to negotiate soon as well.
Makes sense, it's quite weird. Someone else should be doing the bulk of that. I guess this is an anomaly.
