Seems very coordinated to me, we look set to announce three deals, just then the news comes out that Ronaldo wants to leave.
Has Lewa > De Jong > Ronaldo written all over it.

Seems everyone has been waiting for the De Jong deal to get everything rolling.

What's with the G Nev hate. He's giving pushback to a scouser laughing at us?
It just comes across as seriously cringey.

I mean look at the vast majority of comments here, most are saying were fine with him leaving and the damage it done to the team having Ronaldo here. Carra was right, but its just tribalism and heart over head stuff from Nev.

It's not sad that he's leaving, it's fantastic. We may actually function like a proper team next season and we won't have to witness his petulant tantrums when a manager dares to drop him or sub him

We also won't have to put up with his fan club talking as if we're Ronaldo FC and the club is beneath him

Overall very happy with this news.
Yes great mate.
Who scores the goals?

He is a club legend what are you laughing about? Has won every competition for the club being our main player. And came back last season and showed far more determination and passion than most of the squad. Virtually the only player along with de gea that showed what it means to be a united player.
He's such a club legend he cried about being a slave when we didn't let him go to Madrid in 2008 and Fergie literally had to go on his knees so he'd stay for another season. Club legends don't do that.

He’s been a legendary performer for the club across two spells but this is like the third or fourth summer he’s wanted out of like six summers he’s been at Utd
Really? I mean, I grant you that he was great the first time here. Not so much the second time. He wasn't catastrophically bad last season or anything, but not sure I would categorize it as "legendary".

But yeah, I agree, he's never been shy about talking about leaving this club.

I have no idea either, yet.
He wants to leave because he was patiently waiting for our incoming transfers and nobody came in except 'close' interested' etc etc etc!!
Our club shows no ambition to be better and he doesn't want to go on the tour for nothing.
Nothing? He's getting well paid at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

When a player has given as much as he has to the club you show a bit of respect. Last season he didn't down tools like the rest he stood up and tried to make something happen. Show the guy the respect for that.
Any player who takes the field for United has my respect.

Yeah brilliant mate. Replace the one thing that gave us even the slightest joy last season.

Maybe we can put a 60m offer in for Callum Wilson or King or someone?
So we can have a much bigger joy this season.

I'd take Wilson or King or anyone who can run for 90', work really hard for the team and do not fall off anytime the wind touches him over that wanker.

There's only one United!
One thing you don’t want in your squad: a unhappy ronaldo. Love him but he will stink up the place.

If it’s true and he wants to leave, they have to let him.
If you get good players in the squad, those that are capable of feeding him good passes, then he has shown that he can still stick the ball in the net unlike Rashford, Sancho etc etc

Because the caf is never wrong, and is the absolute representation of the fan base.

Who cares? He’s not the type of striker we need anyway, he was only going to be here for another season anyway.

Guess we don’t actually mean anything to him, though.
Then what type do we need? He scored 25+ goals including a few deciders, he IS the only type of striker we need. I say force him to stay, his dedication is strong enough to keep going. Who should step in and score the number of goals he does anyway? 3/10 Rashford probably not.

As much as I enjoyed his goals last season we really shouldn't have brought him back in the first place. Thank feck Woodward is gone so we hopefully won't see more of these types of stunt signings again in the future.
Well, it’s a bit sad if he leaves, and more sad that he wants to leave. It’s not so strange as he would be a candidate for playing less for us, or make Ten Hag build our play to his strengths or weaknesses. It will probably best for us if he goes.

We don't need a forward, apparently. Turns out all the players the Cafe insist are shite and who shouldn't be getting played at the moment are actually mint and will score goals galore once Ole Ronaldo stops holding them back.
If it comes out that we've agreed to bring Lewandowski in, I will relax a bit.

But I just don't see us being that clever and having it arranged.

I can see our guys in a blind panic in a room now re-searching championship manager, and then panic buying King or Toney for 50m

Lewandowski is the one name that could rescue this.
I’d wager De Jong to United has triggered the Lewa > Barca deal which in turn has triggered the Ronaldo > Bayern deal.
Bayern makes sense as it’ll be more like for like with Lewa and Ronaldo will win another title in a fouth European league and go some way in the CL.

Reckon all three clubs have been fully aware of this for a while & that ETH green lighted it a while back.

Stop getting your knickers in a twist. Being ok with a non running 38? year old striker with huge influence and ho desire for the task in hand to go, is not the same as saying we don't need a striker.

You're clearly upset and getting a bit hysterical. Have a cup of tea.
Upset? I'm just bemused at the insanity of looking at the pile of shite that was Manchester United last season and being delighted at the prospect of losing the only bloke in the squad who looked like scoring.

I can't wait to see who the list of world beaters we can get hold of, ready to play almost every game we play all season with Martial to compete with, for the £40m we'll have left to spend this summer.

If he wants to leave then he should go for a team in Europe. No way we are letting him leave to any English team.

There aren't many options out there.

I'd probably opt for Tammy Abraham.

I don't get this thinking, i would not be blowing the bank on a player who isn't close to good enough for where we want to go, just to fill a season and just bloat the squad.

I don’t hate him in the slightest, I don’t know about anyone else. He has on numerous occasions this season made a bit of a joke of himself arguing against what Carragher said about Ronaldo which was; and has been shown again to be, correct.

All pundits make a fool of themselves on some subject or another though, Neville somehow just can’t let this one go despite all the evidence.

So all we need to do is find the greatest footballer of all time and one of the best forwards of his generation for the £40-45m we'll have remaining in this season's transfer budget. No biggy.
United don't need to replace him all at once. There's always going to be growing pains. Goalkeeping and forward line will be examined this year and next year.

Develop the team as best as possible and replace the players and positions as it comes.

Midfield and defense is being identified this season. Along with a wide forward, hence being linking with Antony.

Martial and Ronaldo will be replaced individually and collectively within the next couple months or 18 months. This is the surgery that Rangnick and many others foresaw. But it's not all going to be done within 2 months. Ronaldo leaving is just a major piece, but a piece that was bound to happen soon. Soon just so happens to be now, once/if a suitable offer and club submit.

We've spent two weeks trying to whittle the price down so we can keep within our piss poor transfer budget.

What forward, ready to play the bulk of our games next season, are you getting for the £40-45m we'll have left in a few weeks time?

Damn, come back to reality, if you think that's piss poor you are detached from reality

Oh the old 'not matching his ambitions' line as if he wasn't part of the collective failure. He won't suit the football Ten Hag wants to play and he won't be quiet about it either. We shouldn't try to keep him if we get an acceptable offer.

It removes a bit of pressure from Ten Hag, but it puts a hell of a lot of pressure on the club who are struggling to bring anyone in, to suddenly have to bring a top striker in too.

Unless they surprise everyone by having something totally off the radar done already, but I think I'm :houllier: hoping for that.

We'll be starting with Rashy up front and trying to formulate a weird style of keep ball, and playing on the break.

Really?
So where's the rest of the team promised to all supporters last year or do we go on tours just to rake in money showing off Ronaldo and a few youngsters around him?

It's the halfwits who claimed he was the problem all long, despite the fact he was single handedly getting us wins that I don't get.
Really going to miss this phrase on here. Single handedly shite from August to February.

I also really feel that any team that is set up to get the best out of players like Rashford Martial or an ageing declining Ronadlo are on a hiding to nothing. If you’re aiming to win stuff and you’re emphasising supplying one player in particular you should at least insist they are amongst the best players in the game. It’s just expensive place holding until the next thing comes along otherwise.

We might hijack Leeds' deal for that De Ketelaere fellow? That would be within that budget. No idea if he's good enough.

If he leaves then we would need to find a 20+ goals a season striker which is a rarity now. Most of the available targets have already moved on . Victor Osimhen could be an option from the ones that remain or if we can lure Lewandowski somehow away from Barca.

You favour running about a bit over top quality finishing?
We replace Ronaldo with King we're finishing 7th or 8th

He scored 3 more PL goals last season than Vardy, 4 more than Zaha. He's replaceable.
