Says you who was one of the people reacting to the negative news yesterday. Wind your neck in.
What are you talking about? Are you saying I meltdown because Ronaldo wants to leave or something?
I think It’s good for ETH and the team if Ronaldo leaves. Why should I meltdown? I am happy for that happen. It’s the positive news! It’s ridiculous someone even want him as the captain. Are you one of those?

If he doesn't want to come, don't want him. We have enough overpaid prima donas who feel hard done by the club. We need players here who can make their own destiny.

PTSD, very serious. We should understand the damage from the trauma last season. For many, it’s hard at the moment.
This you?

SO just to make sure. If we do sign FDJ, we need to match his supposedly increased wage at Barca, which is 40m / year (~950k/wk). Is it correct?

Otherwise, why would he move AND take a paycut also, while he can just stay at his beloved Barca (either take paycut, or just keep the full increased wage)?

No because the €40m is the deferred pay i believe. Barca owe him that, we wouldn't have to pay it.

I read he's on something like 350k a week now, and i imagine he'd have to take a substancial pay cut if he wants to stay, and from what people were saying, they can't do any more than a 50% cut, which according to some is still not enough. They need him gone ideally

Barca really are a tedious bunch, penny pinching over some add ons for weeks now by the looks of it.
We gave them back one of their most decorated ever players for practically free, at least return a small part of the favor and just get it done already.

Frenkie, do you remember me Frenkie?

I know who you are. I know what you want. You are looking for ransom and I can tell you I have the money and i have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you sign for Man United that'll be the end of it. I will not harass you, I will not pursue you, but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will make you lose 50% in wages"

Yes. What’s wrong with it? Many people meltdown and throw all the shit to the people working for the clubs. I think they are having serious PTSD. That should be understandable somehow. What are you taking from it to think I have already melt down?

I feel sorry for FDJ as he is being forced out of the club and he doesn’t appear to have much say in it - turning it on him saying that they want him to stay but only if he takes a massive pay cut - which would make him look like a complete muppet anyway.

Poor guy was trying to have a nice holiday and get engaged to his girlie while all this shit has been going on…..

You have to believe though that his agent has been negotiating on his behalf and Utd have some form of agreement with him otherwise we wouldn’t have got this far along.

The way Barca behave these days is atrocious.

You were critical of people for reacting to the news. When some negative news came in you were gloating with a few other clowns. You're a hypocrite.

He's definitely not a prima donna. He's very down to earth and modest.

Why does he have that much deferred pay? He's only been with Barca for 3 years. That doesn't make sense.

And no, he doesn't have to take the cut, if the contract has the wage he will have.

Really not sure, just repeating whats been said on here, but my guess would be he's agreed a contract over 5 years or however long he signed for and defferred a bit of his pay for 4 years, with a big increase in his final, or final 2 years.
Again, others will explain it much better. @Berbaclass seems to know his stuff on this one to be fair

Unbelievable! First and foremost, I don’t criticize them overreacting. I just feel sorry for them because there are a lot more in one’s life.you are hysterical, aren’t you?

"Barca or money"

Nice character assassination ...
Option 3: Stay at Barca and he keeps his current salary because that's what you fecking wankers agreed to. The arrogance of that club is unbelievable.

The meltdown here is insane. Can you guys just relax and wait for the conclusion rather than reacting frantically to every “story” or “info” emerging?
Again. this you?

PTSD from finishing 6th. I wonder if we can sue the club for negligence or something?

Also how did our fan base cope with relegation in the 70s?
There are no mass communication infrastructure (internet and live broadcasting globally) at that time. They probably could get over it more easily?

The €40 million is the total figure for the upcoming season. his base wage + deferred pay.
When you say upcoming season, that's just for 1 season, or the rest of his contract seasons?
Even with 350k/wk = ~18m/yr. So there are still 22m deferred pay from where?

Sorry, mate. I'm not being aggressive to you or others. I'm just trying to figure out, why FDJ see United as attractive choice, wage wise.

He took a deferral in 2020 with a number of other players I believe.

https://www.espn.co.uk/football/bar...ee-to-wage-deferral-that-could-save-club-172m

The agreement is player-specific and sources have told ESPN most players will be remunerated in the coming seasons -- how many seasons will depend on each players' contract length -- and will receive interest of around 3% on the amount they have agreed to defer.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong, Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet had already agreed to wage deferrals this season as part of the new contracts they signed in October.
