Except Eriksen has just been playing in the PL for the past several months and bossing it?

So not really anything like either deal.

He’s just turned 30 not 35 ffs.
Bossing it at Brentford. It's a totally different level here and 100 times more pressure.

While being far from exciting, it's a sensible deal. Replaces Mata and Lingard, gives us options at 8 and 10, experienced international level player who will buy into and reinforce the new culture change. All for free (plus wages).

Still, it's not sitting well with me that our first two signings are at left back and attacking midfield which are well down the list of priorities for upgrade. Nothing is quite making sense to me at the moment.
it’s very exciting. He’s class.

Great signing all coming along nicely, not that you would get that by reading any of the posts of the bed wetters on here.

Happy with this signing. He’s obviously a very good player who is vastly superior to our other midfield options with the exception of Bruno.

If ETH thinks they can both play in his system then great but if they can’t this is the kind of competition Bruno needs. We can either drop him when his form goes or this will be the kick up the arse he needs to find more consistency.

Have zero excitement for this transfer whatsoever. There's way too much pressure at this club for a player who actually died on a pitch not long ago.

Christ, we never learn. This will be Schweinsteiger/ Sanchez all over again.
Not bought to be a star like the other two.

This transfer reads like a movie script that would get canned because it was unrealistic. Great player suffers massive Cardiac arrest on the pitch, extremely high likelihood that he will never run again let alone play top level football, makes it back and helps keep a recently promoted team in the Premier league, before joining one of the biggest teams in the world, having obviously made a full recovery with no signs that he cannot perform at a high level. Its borderline miraculous, and if you can't get excited about this then I have to question the lack of a soul in you.

Maybe in the past, but he certainly didn't show it this season. Thats if he even was available to play.
He got four assists in one game. Say what you want about him but his long range passing is ELITE and can compete with Scholes, Veron whoever. Can’t believe people would debate this just because they may not like him.

He's a brilliant, intelligent footballer who has never relied on pace/strength (the main declining attributes of age), who has a new lease of life - exhibited by excellent performances in the premier league last season. Oh, he's also FREE. It's definitely an exciting transfer.
He's not free. There will likely be a hefty signing on fee plus wages around £200k a week. I hope I'm wrong but I reckon we've done it again and signed another has-been who we'll never get shifted with the wages he'll likely be on. After the shit I've watched the past 9 years, I've no more time for sentiment.

Bossing it in the PL. Bossing it against our rivals? Destroyed Chelsea. Bossing it for Denmark against the best in the world?

Assume that you’ve seen nothing of him

He'll be a really good option to have and provide some much needed quality, a definite step forward although it is a slightly underwhelming start.

We all love United
Eriksen
Sancho
Bruno
Rashford

That’s a very fluid and creative front four. Bin Ronaldo to whoever can pay his wages, adios

Wouldn't be overjoyed about this but certainly cannot begrudge him coming and hopefully he makes a good contribution

Amazed at some of the negativity on here towards this signing. A really sensible piece of business surely.
It might start to look bad when we're paying a 33 year old Christian Eriksen £150k a week but for the foreseeable future at least I agree that it's a really good pick up. I'm not sure what the composition of our best midfield will be but we need more good players and he definitely is one.

This will be the third player (I consider de Jong and Malacia formalities at this point) who is excellent on the ball and very comfortable with the ball at his feet. Love it.

I think he would still be a pretty decent player at 33. His style of play isn't reliant on athleticism, rather technical ability and passing range.

He's come here as a squad player anyways. He will be rotated and give us an excellent option to rest Bruno and/or plug him next to FDJ ;)

You know what I mean FFS.
Genuinely don't. The other two were past it whilst eirksen still has a lot to give. What does his accident have to do with anything? He's fit to play and bossed the league last season so why even bring it up?

He apparently covered 11.7km against Totenham earlier this season. He used to regularly top the most distance run figures over a season while at Totenham.

He's a great athlete

If there's one thing I trust ten Hag in is to have a clear idea of how he wants to use his signings and in what set ups. Doesn't strike me as a magpie manager at all.
