Also interesting that Tuchel would go for him - another sign to me that ETH saw the value in having him as well.
We don't know that yet. So far, only the Chelsea owners have gotten involved in this. We will see how this develops over the next few weeks/couple of months, but as of now, Tuchel is focused on other targets, like Sterling and new centre backs.

We talked about this already, but this was also done last summer and was received well.
I didn’t feel it was resolved. What are they meant to do, read the tweet then go off to the womens forum to discuss? Genuine question because we want the distinction between both sides of the house in the forums

Why is woman's football being posted here, no-one wants to see that. I'd rather see Fridge Chutney tweets.

If he goes to Chelsea and is successful it's pretty much the exact confirmation that Ronaldo wasn't the problem.

Well I mean, not necessarily. It's clear to see I think why he's a problem for our team currently, in the same ways as he was a problem in that Juventus side. He's among the worst pressing forwards in the top leagues these days and is basically an out and out poacher. That could work for some teams, but we don't have the players to suit that style of play currently, in my opinion. There have also been persistent rumours surrounding personality clashes / dressing room rifts. That might be different under a different manager, in a different squad atmosphere, but it appears to have been a problem for us.

If he does go to Chelsea I think he'll do alright. I don't think it'd necessarily prove much though, as so many variables have changed alongside.

  • Boehly will only fully pursue Ronaldo if Tuchel wants him to.
    • Until then, Chelsea won't know what United want for Ronaldo.
  • The "one more" will likely be a new centre back for Chelsea.
    • Reminder: talks with de Ligt, Aké, Koundé, Kimpembe, and Koulibaly
  • Chelsea haven't backed out of the Raphinha race yet.
    • If Barcelona can't get him this summer, then they'll encourage Leeds to keep the player until January 2023.
  • Chelsea decided against pursuing Christian Eriksen.
  • Eriksen's demands: £200k/week + £10m signing-on fee
    • Not clear on whether United matched those demands

Huh?? WTF. If his only other option was Brentford how does he think he can demand that much? And if those were his demands why did it take him so long for him to make a decision. No way in hell would Brentford offer anywhere close to that.

I'm not sure if Brentford even got close to that amount, but the article did state that Brentford were willing to break their wage structure to keep Eriksen.

  • Renewal [process] stopped.
  • [Player] Wants a new challenge.
  • Juve ask for 80-100 million €.
  • Juve-Chelsea negotiations.
  • Italians have asked for Pulisic, Chelsea say NO.
  • Constant contacts between Blues and player environment.
  • Bayern, City and United: attentive.
The issue is above all economic: Juve want to get the most out of his sale and whoever offers the most will take him.
EDIT: The relevant part (thanks to @Dazzmondo)

Don’t think the Eriksen bit makes any sense in the same article that they want Ronaldo who will command double

Why? Ronaldo is considered one of the greatest players of all time. Eriksen has had a good career but nobody would put him in the same sort of conversations. Ronaldo also has massive commercial market value that Eriksen doesn't and would attract a lot more "fans" to Chelsea. Despite what might be said and debated, Ronaldo also came out of a season where he just scored 18 league goals, only behind Salah and Son. He also plays in a position where they need someone, whereas Eriksen would probably be more of a backup for Mount. I can definitely see why Boehli would be interested in Ronaldo and not Eriksen. Tuchel is a different story.

They're different roles, to be fair. Eriksen would have most likely taken up the spot that Ziyech/Pulisic occupies, so maybe they don't see much value in bringing him in. Ronaldo, however, would fill up a big gap in the team now that Lukaku's left them (not like Lukaku did a good-enough job of filling that gap, anyways).

Added to the fact Chelsea were never linked it just seems like after the event nonsense. To say Chelsea could have got him but they weren’t interested.

The funny thing here is despite the Caf melting down United are having a far more productive window than Chelsea who are yet to replace Rudiger, Christensen and their 100m flop Lukaku

I mostly agree with that. I suppose I consider that Juve side to have been far from perfect as well. Not as dire as United. But you definitely are right that Chelsea are further along in their Tuchel revamp so slotting in a luxury player would be easier than with us. Don't even know if I am fair to say luxury when a "prime" Lukaku isn't fit to lace the boots of Ronaldo even in just the category of effort.

Only thing for me is dressing room issues. I'm with Ronaldo's camp on this over any legacy United player. The former has earned every prima donna request- not saying it's a good thing. But the United players have no right in my opinion having downed tools for every manager. Just sick of the whining ones that keep leaking.

Sure, agreed. That Juve team had bigger problems than a static CR7.

The dressing room stuff is a weird one. Who knows who the root of the problems lie with? Shaw? Rashford? Maguire? God knows. But I'd trust Eth to have the authority to put any of those lot in their place, with Ronaldo I'm not so sure. The guy does appear to be a bit of a man-management nightmare.

He's got a point. Some of us don't care about women's football. Anyone who does can read about it in a seperate forum.

Are we linked to any non-dutch or players that havent played for Ten Hag?

Or is it just a case of saying united are interested in <insert dutch player here> for most twatter accounts?

Let him go to Chelsea & take Pulisic in return cracking player in there.

Think we would be better off without Ronaldo as he's not likely to press

Pulisic’s injury record isn’t that great. I wanted him before moving to Chelsea but he’s not really impressed me much in the PL.
