I think you’re right with this week cut off
I think its the week after, the 3rd week of July. Barca has to give La Liga their financial plans for next season on the 30th of July.

This week is the week they fly off to the States for their summer tour only.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
Yeah right, if Romano tweeted “FDJ to MUFC Here we go” you’d be getting your appendage out quick smart.
If he did that he’d have nicked it from Ornstein so absolutely. This is the guy who for months told us Ronaldo wanted to stay and then once someone else breaks the story of Mendes meeting Chelsea then tweets like an expert about Ronaldo’s inner thoughts. That’s his entire MO - someone else breaks story - he then uses his huge agent driven contacts to confirm if true - then acts as expert on it.

How you feeling about this 10 days on?

Also:

This is looking more and more like the Fabregas pursuit.
Its NOTHING like the Fabregas pursuit. In that saga, Barca had no intention of selling, they never did and rejected every offer that was put to them.
Fabregas was open to joining i believe, but Barca flat out said not a chance

Romano knows absolutely feck all. That becomes clearer each passing day.
Effectively. Nothing about Barcelona and it was already seen in the signing of Raphinha.
Fabrizio said €72M fixed and Gerardo Romero that he had other information and it would be about €65M including variables.

In the end €58M+7M.

Banter how Romano's reliability goes up when it's negative news

He's just copying what was reported in Spain yesterday. He's basically an aggregator
Doubt it, I think he's getting his information from agents.

Frenkie's agents will naturally as a negotiating tactic insist that Frenkie has no intentions of leaving. They couldn't really push any other narrative, if they say Frenkie is open to leaving then it invites Barca to try and negotiate his deferred wages.

I've said it for feckin weeks and tagged as negative and a wum and non supporter.

Time to move on now, sadly we don't seem to have a single alternate lined up and we've fecked out all scouting targets lined up over the last year.

So, FdJ talks constantly to EtH. Ali was in Manchester recently. Arnold and Murtough have visited Barca twice recently. Andbthe fact that Frenkie doesn't want to come to United hasn't been made clear to them?

Genuine question.

Could this be a tactic deployed by player & agent to force Barca into paying the deferred wages?

The tweet does state that De Jong does not want to accept any salary reduction.
But Romano said he will not accept a pay reduction.

which part of the tweet do you believe and which part do not believe?
We might not get him in the end, but this clearly is a negotiation tactic. I mean the agent, Ali Dursun, has established contact with United a long time ago due to him representing Lindelöf. He even did deals with United this summer in the form of Malacia. Even if he officially has informed United of FDJ's stance, I bet he at the same time has told the club what's really going on. I mean, the club would never have sent Arnold and Murtough on a public trip to Barcelona if they knew they were chasing a player that doesn't want to be chased.

What "worker" wants a pay cut? None.

Not wanting to accept it is irrelevant. Do you think the players wanted to take one last year? They did. Dembele is accepting the pay cut also this week.

God sake folks, take the blinkers off. Players are still lining up to play for Barca like Raphina and Lewa pushing for a move, probably on a reduced salary also to play for the club.

I mean, Ronaldo wants out and FDJ doesn't want to join and the rest of the names have all but stalled. That's me putting my neck out there and saying I don't think he'll have the personality / charisma to attract top players.

You're literally picking the negative news from United's perspective and believing that. The update says he doesn't want to take a pay cut, so how could you possibly read that update and think thats the outcome, other than pessimism?
I'm literally taking the statement of him not wanting to leave as the truth, why? Because he's said it from day one, quite fervently ad naseum.

Nothing new here. FDJ will continue to say to the press that he doesn't want to leave to maximise the chances of him getting all of his backpay.

But the fact that Romano is saying that de Jong and his agents have reiterated to United that he doesn't want to leave Barca and doesn't want to come to United... come on now. Surely even he knows thats bullshit but he's reporting it because he KNOWS United fans will gobble that shit up and be desperate for more.

its weird because surely if anyone ETH could pick up the phone to FDJ and he would just say one way or another, if it was a no we would have moved on but the fact we're still pursuing it surely indicates that the door is ajar? Is it just media noise to get Barca to pay the backpay?

What's that got to do with it?

Of course he'd hold talks, doesn't mean he'd jump at the chance.

Raphina has held talks with multiple clubs, yet he's a Barca player now pretty much.

100 % this.

This is what Romano does and profits off of. I don't have any hate towards him it's his own side hustle but his fans that think he's some revolutionary ITK is cringe.

TBF, I and a small minority called it.

Every statement from his camp stated he didn't want to leave Barca. He'll take the pay cut I reckon and stay put.

Speaks volumes of the "drawing power" of ETH.
No way he takes a pay cut after deferring 2 years wages. It’s insane that Barca even ask him, if he accepted then he’s brain dead. Might as well play for free.

100% agree with you here.

Lets be totally rational here... if de Jong or his agent got on the phone to United or EtH, and said "look, Frenkie doesn't want to come to United, he loves Barca and we're working towards a solution on him staying". Do you honestly think United would keep working on this? Do you think they'd waste their time on pursuing a target that has no intentions of coming, regardless of if Barca are forcing him out?

I know people think United are stupid, but fecking hell man, have a bit of common sense on this one.

Plus this is why Romano posts these updates... look at how much of a meltdown he's caused here. Imagine that on twitter with god knows how many United fans swarming his page. He's loving this

At this point, I start to prefer us to drag this on as long as possible, and when Barca finally convince and/or agree to pay De Jong what they owe him, we pull out.
Meanwhile we would have lined up another target which we quickly get over the line, leaving Barca fecked big time.

I wonder how many clubs and players they hold for ransom in this window. Screw them.

Let me ask, you're so certain of this... how much money have you got on him to stay at Barca.

Well wasn't Messi quoted as saying he'd of played for free but even that wasn't enough to keep him.

Just depends on his personal circumstances and how much he truly wants to stay in Spain and play for Barca.

Absolutely! I don’t dislike him. 99% of what he’ll post is true. Heck this is even true - I’m sure his agents have told Barcelona he doesn’t want to leave and he won’t accept a pay cut. Barcelona want him gone - so now the onus is on them to make that happen - until Barcelona do something to incentivise his leaving the deal is stalled. It’s playing out exactly how you’d think it would.

Not a single cent.

I know my opinion isn't popular, so be it.

I've just had a bad feeling about it from day one so I'm sharing it. We've been to the circus every summer, we never seem to learn. We are trying to hijack a player from them solely on the basis of their financial strife. We wouldn't even contemplate it otherwise.

The line from the players camp from day one is he's happy, he loves Barca and wants to stay. I honestly believe that is the case. That's it.

Because transfers are as simple as agents telling the club the absolute truth

But if you're certain, and you seem absolutely certain that it's not happening and all these reports are lies... you need to put your money on it.
The fact you're not suggests that you're not totally confident with your opinion. I won't back him coming to United as even though i'm fairly sure it'll happen, that doubt does remain in a small part. If i was as certain of him coming as you are of him staying, i'd back that all the way to the bank

Yeah it'll do him great to mess us about on a player we really want when he has other players in the club already, and likely players that he'll want to bring to United in the future.

This is starting to look like the handiwork of Woodward all over again. If he signs for us before the start of the season then great, but if he doesn't it will be a worrying indication that this so-called new regime is pretty much exactly the same as the previous one.

At what point should a club walk away from a deal, knowing that other players exist and that the longer they leave it in a window the harder these players are to get?

It’s funny how desperate you are for this to break down. So much so with every snippet of semi-negative information you burst in here with the “I told you so”

Seriously mate
