Even if he knew the deal was dead, he’d keep saying that drivel. He wants to string us along for clicks.Tweet

And by Christ we’ll keep giving it to him.

It's true though, somethings coming and we don't know what it is.I just watched all of thatmost excitingly wasteful 2 minutes of my day.
Of course he doesn't want to reduce his salary (actually, the amount owed). And I don't think he will need to, given the leverage he has, that's just not something he needs to concede. But there are ways to pay that salary in instalments that gives Barca less of sum to find all in one go. It's the obvious way to make the transfer work so everyone wins.Tweet

There's no "hope" at allHe can't force anything, he is but a tiny, tiny cog in a far greater machine!
The best he can do is stay put and hope they find the money in the years ahead, at that point it could go to a court I'm sure if they broke the terms of the contract.
His current contract runs until 2026!
Romero said we had a full agreement with Barca, just not with Frenkie. That’s a lot different than Romano insisting he doesn’t want to leave and is making it stall. It was Romero who broke the latest update it seems.
I did...

Eventually, Yes.There's no "hope" at all
They have to pay him the money or declare bankruptcy
Never seen my name and the word "amazing" before unless it ends with "ly disappointing".See this amazing post by Pigeon:
What does that say about his mentality for you?A club that screws you out of money because they're "poor" yet will spend massive money on various other players.
I wouldn't class it as a full agreement, the add ons were still being discussed (20M).Romero said we had a full agreement with Barca, just not with Frenkie. That’s a lot different than Romano insisting he doesn’t want to leave and is making it stall.
Willing to be treated poorly, shows a lack of self esteem. I have no idea tbh but it's fun to considerWhat does that say about his mentality for you?
What did @esmufc07 do to deserve such vitriol?!?! Sure, he's a cnut and we all wish he would just curl up and die in the corner like the useless piece of shit that he is, and the only friend he's got is his right hand and even that hates him. But why call him out for it?! Seems a bit unfair tbh. He's already pissing me off that guy.
Disappointment for whom? Could be you were so drunk that what seemed like an age was hardly 2 minutes, disappointing both you and whomever/whatever lay beneath you.Today this epic disappointment of a saga reminds me of that time when I was too drunk to reach an orgasm, yet toiled on and on and on, only to eventually throw in the towel.
I got tears for days mate. Cos it's off.Which tier are you?
I don't believe ETH has that great a pull for players if I'm honest, even a former one at that. I think FDJ talents out grew him (ETH) and Ajax and he'd prefer to be at Barca which is what I've said all along.Keefy, you seem to have issue with Erik Ten Hags "pull" certainly in bringing things up in this instance.
But pray tell, how does Frenkie saying he wants to join Ten Hag at United, but actually doesn't, benefit him at all.
If he wants his deferred wages none of this theory holds water. He would simply sit at Barcelona collecting his wages weekly, and the contract he is currently on would do that leg work for him.
If he wants it now, he would have to follow legal proceedings, but again negotiating to leave would not achieve your theoretical endgame.
Wanna bet?I got tears for days mate. Cos it's off.
I’m...lostSo... Are we feeling optimistic or no? I don't know what to feel. I can't imagine we would spend so much time and energy going after him only to be told "nah, not interested" by the player. Then again, it's united. Not sure what to think
We're such an idiotic club.Tweet

Can you not honestly work that one out for yourself? I see a lot of these types of posts and I just can’t grasp the lack of thought process. Why are United so desperate to pay €85m for a player, who Barca apparently need to get rid off by any means necessary and who may not actually want to come?
Embarrassing from the club all around. We're such an idiotic club.
Not really. 17 million is not something people just give up on. If Barca want to be financially irresponsible then let them. FDJ is good but he's not a sure thing in the prem. I say we give them a final offer and if it's rejected, move on. They'll be stuck with an unhappy player and debt. We can spend the next month plus working on other midfield targets.So... Because he’s leaving. The whole news reporting is just stupid. Paul Ince didn’t want to leave Manchester United or David Beckham but once a fee is agreed you are pretty much gone. So I don’t know why people are acting like Frenkie saying no, he has all the power. He doesn’t. However he does have power on what he is owed in wages. Which is probably where the future lays. Why are United so desperate to pay €85m for a player, who Barca apparently need to get rid off by any means necessary and who may not actually want to come?
You mean he's Dutch? Can you not honestly work that one out for yourself? I see a lot of these types of posts and I just can’t grasp the lack of thought process.
No you areWe're such an idiotic club.
Did he call a meeting?Tweet

Whether their talks/business were successful or not, they would have to return to Manchester anyway. They are execs and have a busy summer ahead.I wonder if Arnold and Murtough have returned because of the Eriksen medical being completed and the need for the contract to be signed?
