#FreeFrenkieFriday is coming.

To be fair I'd expect some developments either way today
Key developments today
- Player has no interest in leaving
- Clubs have broadly agreed a deal

See you again tomorrow when the same jokes and developments will be repeated

Pretty obvious now that him ‘refusing to leave’ is just the negotiation tactic for him to get the money that he’s owed. (If he is saying that at all)

It also strengthens Barcelona's hand in negotiations with us … This absolutely will get done though

If anything was happening this week it would have happened while Arnold and Murtough were in town.
Barca take off for their tour tomorrow, till they are back....

Question is whether they can register the new players now anyhow as the have more levers?
Not sure but i don't think they would be able too as they'd still breach the cap if de Jong stays?
At best, it would enable them to pay off the money owed to de Jong and get him out of the club if thats what they truly desire.

Tweet 1: aye, because he won’t even entertain a meeting regarding his salary and rightly so.

Tweet 2: aye, that’s him saying you pay me and I stay, or you make it worth my while to leave. In other words, pay what you owe.

Absolutely no new information here. Still at a stage of who blinks first between club & player.

The fact that news is coming out that Xavi has supposedly said "I like you as a player, BUT, the club needs to sell you for financial and economic reasons" isn't that him telling de Jong that he's not needed. Surely if Xavi wanted him and didn't want him to go, he'd be pressuring Laporta to find a solution to do so

I was just gonna ask, where are our daily morning negative tweets?
Walk away. He do no not want to come. He never did.
We have idiots for negotiators.
We are being taken for a ride.
We will be fighting in the bottom half this season.
Hope this helps a bit on your day :-)

The club decided a while back to sell, no question. Possible that Xavi had to decide between Dembele or de Jong.
As long as they pay him his back pay, he’ll leave. Happens all the time that players want to stay at clubs that don’t want them any longer, but they all leave. No-one wants to stay where they aren’t wanted.

The Frenkie de Jong transfer saga could probably end up being like the Nico Gaitain and Wesley Schneider transfer sagas. Constantly linked but no deal

If I was owed millions in wages, I'd be playing hardball and refusing to leave too.

I think with all the business Barca are doing they 100% need to sell and it will get done eventually.

Looks like that is the explanation, Barca want to sell without paying his deferred wages and FdJ says I dont want to leave until you pay me.

De Jong/Martinez/Eriksen all announced on the same day.
All are ex Ajax.
That would be mad wouldn’t it. Are we Ajex FC?
