Feel very uncomfortable with the current news , feels like a hard line being drawn by Barca .

It could be a hard line to play in order for him to accept a drastically lowered salary , basically forcing him to lower pay or literally be thrown out the club.

personally it’s disgusting from Barca point of view and showing little class , they gave him a stupid contract in the first place it’s their own fault.

If he comes I am sure he will
Give it his all but I think he’ll need significant rebuilding in terms of confidence etc.

Having said that…he could very well want the move and also want his due payment and in that case Barca should pay up and let him go without all the theatrics.

It’s obvious they want him out.

So much for your dream club Frenkie. What a piss poor way to treat a player who not once but twice lowered his salary in order to help the club.

You think any sane person will want to stay with an employer that has treated them that way. Do you think we'd chase FDJ the whole season without ETH having spoken to him on countless occasions. All of this FDJ wants to stay is either Barca leaking bullshit to the press or a negotiating tactic by FDJ to get as much of a payoff as possible from Barcelona.

This should be a nice cautionary tale to all the European players who dream of going to Barca.

It won't of course, but it should be.

Poor lad. Being told to leave his dream club just because the club is completely out of its depth. Must be priceless for him knowing he will win the champions league with our Hagmeister before his loved FCB will get near it :D

So they’re still trying to weasel their way out of paying him what he’s owed?

If it wasn’t us trying to bring him in, I’d be hoping he stays and fecks them, and all their levers, over.

Why the need to accept Barca's 75 million demand? We should just stick with 55 as they are desperate to get rid of Fdj.

Why are you the way that you are? I hate so much about the things you choose to be.

Hope it's the last time we do business with Barca tbh, they're an abhorrent club masquerading as a holier than thou institution

Don’t really share this sentiment to be honest. It’s a business transaction. I’m sure United see it that way.

Can't / won't pay him, can't register any new players but can pay 50 odd million for Raphinha. Makes no sense to me.

If he weren't available to Utd, I'd love to see him Bogarde Barca for every penny.

You people forget, it happened once with Messi, to Barca if they were able to move on from Messi departure because of finances then De Jong is a nobody episode.

Difference is De Jong already has lowered his wages to save the club, then they throw him out.

I can't see him taking a spot over Maguire or Varane and I don't think McTominay or Fred are at the level they should be.

I think its a case of needs must, Matic hasn't been replaced
Yeah convinced he will be tried there

You have to feel sorry for de Jong. He was presumably happy at Barca and now he's been manipulated out, and is having to fight for what he's owed.
Yeah, but he will have a great time at United.
And get paid.

I agree. Even if he's already a multimillionaire and signing for us is hardly a consolation prize, it must suck to have his apparently dream club forcing him out and perhaps even cheating him for wages.
He hasn’t done anything wrong, just Barca being cnuts.

Where the grass is greener.
The treatment of De Jong by Barca is absolutely grim  shows you how wilfully ignorant and short sighted players are if they're rushing to join that shit show of a club.

We were paying

65+20 = 85

We are now paying

75 +10 = 85

Same price just less in add ons as the structure was too complicated.

All prices are in euros.

It just shows at all levels — doesn’t matter if you’re a minimum wage worker or a millionaire footballer at one of the biggest clubs in the world — employers/companies are all cnut bags and you should never show them unwavering loyalty because they’ll palm you the first chance they get.
