He’s just posted an Instagram post of him sitting on a boat in the sun with Memphis. He is either saying he loves the Barca sun or they are talking about how wonderful Manchester is

Or they are just sitting on a boat

Just seen that there and he has just shared a video of him and memphis diving off the boat. Looks like it's way of saying I'm happy here and enjoying life.

I'll never cease to be surprised by how willing our fans are to be miserable.

We have an opportunity to sign a player who is absolutely perfect for the way we want our team to play. A game changer, someone we wouldn't even have considered as a possibility 6 months ago.

Because this hasn't gone smoothly we have 31,000 posts of mainly bitching and moaning from a group of people all too desperate to find something to be unhappy about, and to hate the club for.

Spot on, it’s ridiculous honestly people are so desperate for the likes of eth to fail, they are desperate to see rashford play badly so they can say told you so, it’s a clean slate for everyone & like you say fdj is perfect flr what the manager wants, some of us are positive at least the negative ones can do one !!

How can any other transfer be worse than this one?
- Took ages to agree a fee with Barcelona
- Player kept saying he doesn't want to leave
- We agree a fee with Barcelona but apparently he doesn't want to leave
- Barcelona is now basically bullying him into joining us and he's still not here.
If he rejects us this is hands down the worse saga and will be the most embarrassing one too.
It’ll be bad
But losing Pogba, signing him for 100 big ones then losing for free and a toxic number of years is the most ridiculous saga I’ve ever or will ever see

Remember Thiago in summer 2013 posting pics of Barcelona, saying something like “what a city!”, just before he headed to Bayern.

Well if there's 1 guy that's got our back it's memphis. He genuinely likes the club and often wore United shirts after he left.

Hopefully he's telling him it'll be good.

Bit of a kick in the teeth for Murtough & Arnold after all their efforts on Mon for him to be getting on that plane tomorrow, convinced if there was any truth in them telling him he's gotta leave than that wouldn't be happening. Ah well after a mini meltdown it's back to this saga when they return from U.S.

Some older Sagas took much longer like Tevez and Berbatov, Sancho took over a year to complete. Sneijder took around a decade and he still didn't sign.
No man..........NO, Sneijder will still come im sure.

We must be on the last leg of negotiations by now surely

We are paying add-ons money upfront to make the deal go through. Strange take
Add ons allow the buyer some breathing space in terms of paying the entire sum at one go + it's often tied to performance. Thus if United do well then they make more money and then we can give some of that to Barca. Instead we are being forced to pay that money now despite the fact that we are working on a budget, that there is little to competition for the player whatsoever and that Barca are desperate to sell. That's after at least 2 months of negotiations. If you ask me this is worse then the tragic deal we involved ourselves regarding maguire. The guy was wanted by City + Leicester were not at the brink of bankruptcy

Honestly Barca might really need to sell him, but leaving him out of the tour is a pretty aggressive and disrespectful move. He's still a top player after all. I fully expect him to travel and I don't think that it'll impact the deal one way or another.

But that depends on add-on. If add-on which gets activated after FDJ makes 25 appearance then paying that upfront to see the deal through isnt such a big deal. If we mess up the deal by not paying 10m extra which was already committed, then they would criticise for penny pinching.

It's still provide some breathing space. We are negotiating on Barca's terms despite the fact that they are desperate. If we walk away then they cannot register any new players while de jong will be treated like a pariah

Why is it? They went to sort a fee with Barca and that's what they did. I'm pretty sure when they went they realised they couldn't agree a deal with de Jong due to the outstanding wage issue.

They increased the fixed fee, probably in hopes it'll help towards resolving the issue but knew they obstacles still stood in the way. They probably achieved what they set out to do, agree a fee with Barca and are now waiting for Barca to sort their issues out.

So no, no kick in the teeth in my opinion. As he's still their player, they can call him on tour, absolutely nothing stopping them doing that. Whether they play him or not is a different matter

Why all the negativity?

De Jong has publicly been hung out to dry by his own club. Its clear as daylight that Frankie’s agents hasn’t cover his back when he signed his latest contract. He can chose to stay but that will put him and his family in a weird situation when his club wants him to leave. It can’t be nice to any of them to know that your boyfriend/son is in a public conflict with his own club.

Barcelona has bought several new players and are financially depending on him to go if they want to meet the La Liga’s FPR. They simply can’t register all players without someone leaving. Walk away from buying Raphinha and Co would be a PR nightmare that would heavily affect Barcelona’s reputation as a go to club.

I‘m no legal expert but from my knowledge Laporte is a lawyer and a politician. He knows how to use media and the local public opinion to his favor. Frenkie de Jong is just another foreign player for him. He’s not Spanish and he’s not from Catalonia. Barcelona has survived losing Maradona, Neymar, Old Ronaldo and Messi. De Jong is a nobody in the grand scheme of things when it comes to importance. If the local supporters has to chose there will only be one winner.

From a moral standpoint I‘m totally in De Jong’s corner but sometimes in life we have to accept reality and move on. Living in a city where you’re unwanted can’t be something to look forward to.

What.. why? If he's not part of their upcoming season's plans there's nothing wrong with that. They've brought in Kessie and will bring in Bernado Silva as his replacement. Don't get hoodwinked by the narrative that the decision to sell him has nothing to do with football.

Let me ask you this. Is Barcelona and Laporte moving like they have to do this ?

Smells like complete bullshit, So Lewa+Raphinha+Christansen+Kessie+Koundes wages don't add up to De Jongs wages ?
This isn’t just any normal football club though is it, this is a club that managed to get themselves in £1B worth of debt, who have nothing to show for it and still spending money like nothing has happened.. so there’s no predicting how they act or run their club.

I think there’s definitely some truth in it as multiple people have reported it, and we don’t know what clauses certain players have in their contracts etc etc.

All I know is that I wouldn’t trust a word that comes out of Laportes mouth.

What do you think is behind it?

Again you're hearing what the media, clubs and player want you to hear. You're not getting the full story as the clubs are.

No transfer is done via the media and its a good think they're not, because I bet crap like this happens a lot behind closed doors. Not to this extent but still.

You're hearing from the media de Jong doesn't want to come but it's clear that United aren't being told that or they would have ended stuff a while ago. Even ten Hag isn't stupid enough to blindly chase a player, regardless of past relationships

Might have worded that a little better as by implication you are saying ten Hag is pretty stupid.
