He is coming. It will take time but i dont see how he will accept salary reduction after seeing Barcelona spend 130m this summer. And if he stayed, they need to pay him higher salary and they cant register their new players
That’s why the economic levers are there to help. They are apparently getting around €550m with the two levers they have so far.

Jesus. Im just replying to your posts is all.

If you disagree we can move on, but please dont claim he has sources without expecting to be called out on the BS. That's all.
He‘t got a few things right lately, ironically none of them United related.

He called Sterling to City at the start of summer before anyone and also called Nunez to Liverpool before their interest was public.

Like him or not he’s got almost 1.5m followers with the likes of Romano regularly on his channel he obviously gets bits of info

I don't care what you think of Goldbridge pal

Never claimed he was any kind of source on this. Simply that he's got a couple fo things right this summer. Which he has irrespective of what you think or try and play it down.

Like I said, time to move on. This is a thread for Frenkie De Jong. If you'd like to discuss Mark Goldbridge go make a thread.

It was public information already. Nothing he said was inside.

Ive addressed the Romano point already in previous posts.

Ask yourself why he cant get any access to pre season training or press conference questions. Hes been shunned out for good reason.

Many on here seem to confuse “getting things right” with the shites thrown at the wall that happen to stick. That’s how these fake sources reel in the gullible.

I'm trying to put 2 and 2 together, I could be missing something but yes, to me it seems that he signed an extension that helped Barcelona and is now thrown out of the club before Barcelona has to repay his gesture.
That’s certainly what it looks like.

Why his agent failed to consider the possibility that he might move to another club at some stage seems extraordinarily negligent.

Pretty much. He says tons of such absolute trash but some people trawl through the garbage, find two things and go "THIS".

He had Donny and Iqbal on yesterday but he’s highly critical of the club so there’s zero chance any big hitters come on.

I’m not saying he’s breaking world exclusive transfer deals but with his channel, Talksport, Romano etc probably gets bits.

He has dumps like a truck? Does he have some chronic bowel condition? Is he going to fail his medical?

Talksport and Romano are there for his views. He has tons and that's not the debate.

anyway I digress. If anyone had anything credible on FdJ I am game to hear it

Not strictly true FDJ signed a contract for a rumoured €18M per season then during Covid Barcelona agreed with some of their players to take a deferred, not reduced salary, in other words Barcelona rumoured to agree to pay FDJ €6m in 20/21 season and €9m in season 21/22 therefore deferring €12m and €9m from thise two seasons which is €21m or £17m owed to the player, now their argument is if the player leaves, they are not legally bound to make these deferred payments because he is not fulfilling his contract, his argument is I agreed an original contract of €18m for three seasons snd you have not paid me€54M but €33M. This is a legal nightmare because no one truly knows apart from FDJ and Barcelona Legal department what is in the T and C’s of this Amended contract or if it was only a verbal agreement which I highly doubt.

Both parties are being very precise with the rhetoric used when quoting to the media. Personally I think we could put this one on hold to next season and use the £75m towards Antony and Tielemans plus some sales of another £20M. It’s not FDJ fault that Barcelona have mortgaged the clubs tv rights to get a cash injection to reinvest in the club and see his wages as untenable. They will say simply how can you expect to be paid more than Robert Lewandowski who is widely recognised as the best number 9 in world football.

Eventually they either agree to pay his back payments or he begrudgingly accepts a significant pay cut of 50% and agrees to 50% of what is owed in deferred payments to stay at the club. Which ever way you look at it, we must have know all this when we started to embark in June on trying to sign him.
I don’t get it. He’s already at the club and already has a contract. Why does he need to accept any reductions to stay?

From my understanding they owe him money. Like they made the players defer their payment into later seasons, that's why it increases every year. So in a sense they owe him that money, it's not like he renounced to those wages but more like he was promised he was going to be paid later. We can all guess the details but it's extremely dishonest from Barcelona to make the players take paycuts, under the promise of getting paid later, and then wanting to sell them while refusing to pay the deferred wages.
In a moral sense they owe it to him and that’s why he won’t leave without getting the deferred part paid up but it seems Barca don’t think they legally owe him the money if he leaves. As far as I can tell, the money they morally owe him only becomes legally due later in his contract if he stays. If that is the position Barca is sticking to then it seems logical that FDJ will say “fine, I’ll stay then”.

He might sign for us or he might not. Nobody actually knows. Not even him. This entire thread is a waste of time. And yet here I am...

If his agent agreed to that he’s a complete idiot. It’s as if he never considered the possibility of Frenkie changing clubs.
Frenkie doesn’t have to change clubs and this whole mess is Barca’s problem. They are trying their best to make it FDJ’s problem and it’s far from ideal for him. We don’t know the contract terms but, whatever the specifics, this situation was foreseeable and even though he was trying to help the club, his dream club, it looks like a mistake now. Yeah, we might as well blame the agent.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
This has to be the dumbest transfer saga we have ever been involved in and that is saying something, given the fact that once three Spanish lawyers tried to negotiate a transfer on deadline day for us, who didn't even work for us.

Convinced we get this done now.

We agree to front Barcelona the money for the wages they owe De Jong and the deal looks something like this:

€90m transfer.
€50m guaranteed over 3 seasons.
€40m if De Jong wins the Balon Dor, PL and CL in the same season, spread out over 5 years.

This way Barcelona 'win' the transfer PR wars and United get their man on good terms for them.

We already agreed a fee of €75m + €10m
