So now its Mendes fault like it was Raiola fault with Pogba?
It’s hardly Mendes’ “fault” that Ronaldo wants a new club.

He seems to have done a pretty poor job of finding him one though. Firstly, because so far he hasn’t managed to; secondly, because the whole process has shown him (Ronaldo) in a very poor light. That’s not really what’s expected off a top agent.

Ronaldo may think he’s blessed with eternal youth and have believed that there would be loads of clubs queuing up to sign him. I would have thought Mendes knew enough about football to have realised that it might not be that easy, and have tried to be a bit more discreet about it.

We're talking about a player near retirement, man. He's 37 y.o. footballer. He earned a billion but that's for his almost 20 yrs career. ~275m is about 25% earning in just 2 years work. The likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Guardiola or Pele couldn't refuse the temptation of spending their end career in those type of League.

Well, maybe it's just me then that think that way. When i said "courage", it's from a footballer perspective. Of course there are many profession that "courage" has much higher standard. Health workers for one.
The likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Guardiola or Pélé were earning anywhere near what Ronaldo earned. Your point or the idea that you are trying to convey makes little sense when we are talking about someone that has already earned a fortune, he is less likely to be tempted because he already got it.
You could loosely apply the term courage if you were talking about a much younger player that hasn't earned that much and may never earn it, you could even loosely apply it to an older player that his at end of his career and maybe earned a fifth of that amount but it doesn't apply to the likes of Messi or Ronaldo.

No these are opinions.

Juve imploded because they spent €500m (excluding Ronaldo) during his 3 years on absolute dross. The ageing squad, especially midfield, was replenished with no quality players. Even De Ligt was really average at his time there - he was not even in the Serie A team of the year once.
Allegri, whose cycle at Juve is finished, was not replaced by a competent enough coach. Ronaldo even had to play under Pirlo who used an old fashioned 4-4-2 style. Juve especially won Serie A in the second season all because of Ronald scoring crucial goals in the second half of the season. Ronaldo cannot carry the team anymore - this is absolutely true. But he performed poorly in only one knockout stage in his 3 years at Juve. Juve's players were ageing and/or very average. How come they've not had a Renaissance under Allegri last season? Not even a domestic cup? Not even top-3? This year they are between joint first and third-favorite to win Serie A depending on where you look - so its really not an improvement.

If United's implosion was all Ronaldo's fault then why did RR say that United need 10-11 new players? Why did he not say we need just 1-2 more players? It's not as if Rashford/Sancho/Bruno/etc were pressing monsters while Ronaldo let the team down.
Rashford and Bruno especially were sauntering about most of the games. Did Ronaldo ask them to do that?
What about Captain England's mistakes at the back? What about a perpetually unfit Varane (missed 33% of PL games)? What about McFred? What about a slow, uncreative Sancho? Did Ronaldo tell them to play that way?
They won’t have any answer to this. I’ve mentioned the same things in your post about 5 times already and no one has an explanation.

I can't see any good options for him.
None of the top clubs are in for him. RM, Barca, PSG, City, Liverpool, Juve. Rumors of Bayern and Chelsea, but they have denied interest.
Sad situation for one of the greats.

Ronnie makes 480k/week. I just don't see any competitive CL club bringing him in for 336k/week. Maybe 200k, but I'm not even sure about that. He's still a top player but at his age you can count on niggling injuries, despite his six pack.

You simply do not keep players who do not want to be at the club. I said this when he was at his peak the first time and wanted to leave. I say it again. United had very successful years after he left the first time, I understand there are no future guarantees of success this time if he leaves, likewise, there are no guarantees Ronaldo being here ensures success.

He was a great player, however, in the twilight of his career. We really need to get away from this obsession with Ronaldo and move on to our next chapter.

I find this situation bizarre, if he knew he wanted a champions league clubs only why not have an exit clause in his contract for if we failed to qualify? While the full extent of last season’s disastrous showing was unexpected, us finishing outside the top 4 was entirely possible. I mean the contract he signed with us had a wage reduction if we failed to qualify, so the idea couldn’t have been that shocking to him?

I think it’s something else than lack of champions league which is causing this. I’d guess he’s been told he won’t be a guaranteed starter and has flipped. The champions league narrative protects his name and makes it the team’s fault rather than admitting that he is no longer top dog.

The wage reduction is standard for United contracts. An exit clause isn't standard and I doubt United would agree.

Isn't it surprising that we went from Ronaldo has family issues to he is waiting for Mendes's instructions?

Inside right

*Private Dancer plays from inside the closed cadillac. Ronaldo sits, awaiting instructions:

Go to the street corner. Turn around. Slowly. Let them see everything. Then you walk back to the car and get in. Real nice like.

As long as he's gone by the end of the transfer window I'll be happy. Let the Circus move to another town.

I would say it is time we start fining him for not showing up. He and Mendes have been given enough time to find a buyer.

Where are all the ‘I feel sorry for him, he deserves better’ and ‘he’d easily score 40 for x top club’ people now? Fact is he doesn’t deserve any better than United’s level (which he contributed to) and funnily enough top clubs aren’t interested in this player that would ‘easily score 40 goals’ for them for some reason.

Glasgow resident these days.
What’s folks thoughts about the reception he’s gonna get when he reluctantly has to play for us this season? Currently, I think he will face some booing and verbal abuse, unless his PR team do some major back peddling.

I don't think they will allow that to happen. For all of the denials on his side if he cannot get a move to a top club before the season starts he probably will end up at Sporting where he would have a legitimate shot of a league title, CL football and will probably dominate in a weaker league than he has been used to. The money won't be there and he won't have a hope of actually winning the CL but from a PR standpoint he can sell the prodigal son returning home narrative and push the romanticism for all its worth. If his agent is any good he can probably get a documentary and a book deal out of it too.

He should be booed for being a twat. But he'd probably be applauded for reluctantly accepting to stay after no one wanted him. In the eyes of his gullible fans he can do no wrong

He's on 375k a week since we didn't qualify for the CL. 25% wage drop for all the squad.

I read somewhere his agent said Ronaldo would accept a lower salary (I have no idea if correct). Even accepting a lower salary he'll be on a similar salary if he were to leave United. United has a clause in all player's contracts of a 25% reduction if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Maguire hasn't been decent at all unless you are counting pre-season fixtures which DO NOT count. Maguire was atrocious last season.
But brilliant the season before. Everyone was poor last seaon, apart from maybe DDG.

You carry on with your agenda, though.

Wait so are there family issues or is he refusing to return? Can’t believe we’re going through all this with Ronaldo again.
