So he can come back and play for us in a years time if we're back in the UCL. It's all he cares about
If that's genuine Ronaldo and Mendes can both eat shit. Hilariously fecking entitled. Ugh, we get rid of Woodward and we get ten Hag. This was supposed to be a new dawn.

Why are we so adamant on keeping him ?

Mutually terminate his contract and let him feck off to whatever UCL club he wants to go to. Club pisses me off sometimes, we need to get with the times and not be Nostalgia FC.

Just speculating (so don't shoot me).

It's not unthinkable that Mendes wants United to - say - yield on the current contract terms to some extent.

For instance: we agree to terminate the contract but on favourable terms to Ronaldo: as in, he gets some kind of severance deal, which means that he can accept a pay cut at his new club without losing too much money.

Hypothetically: should we yield?

On the one hand, I would very much like to see United playing hard ball here: if you want out, fine. But we're not paying for it.

On the other hand, I would very much like to escape a scenario where we get stuck with Ronaldo.

(Yeah, yeah - a Ronaldo who doesn't want to be here, but frankly I just want him gone: the scenario in which he stays and becomes a grand success under ETH strikes me as a fantasy.)
The accountants would piss blood. If Ronaldo wants out so bad I'm sure he finance it himself.

feck Ronaldo. Get rid any way we can, hopefully with some Atleti players going the other direction to us. Or make Ronaldo suit up for every game and sit him on the bench, tell him to get warmed up with 15 minutes left... then not use him. He can feck off now.

I'm not sure that we are.

But if we are, it's about the brand.

I refuse to believe that ETH is desperate to keep him (for football reasons).

Granted, it could be that ETH is a far greater football genius than I think, and that he has a master plan that depends on Ronaldo - but...nah, I doubt it.

Do they have any players worth swapping for? I wouldn't take a single one.

I was talking about a hypothetical scenario (obviously).

Ronaldo wants to leave as he wants to win trophies and doesn’t think he’ll win them here.

Nobody is willing to pay him what we currently pay him.

You suggested we should give him a payoff so he can go and live his dream of playing for Atletico or some other club who can’t afford him.

My summary of your original post wasn’t wrong. It was a batshit crazy suggestion given

1.) we need him, and

2.) he’s being a diva.

Why the feck would we pay him off. Absolute worst case scenario we agree to terminate his contract like Juve just did with Ramsey and wave any potential transfer fee.

It's not worth the hassle surely, I'd just let him go if no-one wants to pay a small fee and he's adamant he can't miss the CL. I doubt the other players want him back and it would be even worse second time around. Couldn't give a feck about Atletico, why damage ourselves.

We took a punt and it didn't work for either of us so lets just terminate the contract. As a fan I was sure if we didn't qualify he'd want out.

This guy :lol::lol: the fecking nerve and audacity of them, if he wants to go then leave on a free with NO pay off although the problem they have is NO ONE wants him despite Mendes whoring Ronaldo out to anyone who’ll have him.

Why we would pay him to terminate his contract is beyond me, it’s quite fecking simple and that is if someone is willing to take him then we’ll listen but if no one comes in then he can’t go anywhere unless he’s planning on playing for a team he starts up himself as no one wants him.

I don't understand what is he negotiating exactly? Not a single club interested, zero offers so far. What is the ask here?

He should feck off and pay off his own contract if he really wants to play CL. He is rich enough to do that.

Or just rot in reserve.

At this point , are you really believing everything you read? There’s already been reports by trusted sources that have dismissed this clearly made up story yet you choose to have a meltdown.

As far as things go, I’m just in it just for entertainment factor right now(same with FDJ saga). I’m not believing anything I read until it’s all resolved.

This and a million times over. Let him suffer on the bench and practice with U-23 if he wants to keep fit for the WC

Ronaldo was always going to be warming bench under ETH. He will probably retire before he swallows that humiliation.

Phew, thankfully Ross has cleared all this shit up, I was just waiting for him to say stuff, now I can get on with my life.

Good ol’ Ross.

Mendes must be losing his edge if he cannot find his #1 client a new club.
Honestly. From a footballing side it makes sense why no tier 1 club wants him. But Mendes, this guy is the super agent. He doesn’t have dirty strings and favours he can pull to get Cristiano Ronaldo a club?

First game of the season, Ronaldo will score and then pat the badge on his chest, or maybe even kiss it. You see, he never wanted to leave in the first place, United has and always will be his true love. He's sorry for all those years (and titles and trophies and records broken) at Madrid and Juventus. He loves us. Honestly. cnut.

Probably to ask United to let him leave for free so that Mendes can go around whoring him out all over Europe one more time to see if there are any takers if he's a free agent.

Sure I read a tweet earlier today which said we had no intention of extending and loaning out. Rightly so. Let’s hope it stays that way.

That's ridiculous

He's had no pre-season, he won't play the first game of the season
