Could he have gotten a bigger club?
Who was in for him? I'm pretty sure we were his best option.

settling?! He had a decent wet week at Brentford after career stagnation for 3 years and now he's too good for United. FFS.
Too good? No. I just think he might have been hoping for some other clubs to come in for him. United hasn't been a good move for almost anyone in the last 10 years. We're not nearly as attractive to players as we once were. Is this a surprise to you?

They have that deep connection.

Bunch of adolescent tik tokkers run our social media.
Why are United so cringe at stuff like this? Our social media stuff is horrendous
Absolute tosh of the highest order, these posts not the footage on the video.

Looks quite the professional set up if you ask me. A few camera angles for the main video, a phone for the social stuff and from what I gather a photographer.

Honestly the standards that you guys set for the club is too damn high. You’d think we’d be making oscar winning documentaries if it were up to you guys with Christipher Nolan directing

Yeah I'm sure he was devastated Barca or Madrid didn't come in for him after his three good games for Brentford. He barely deserved the deal we gave him ffs. The amount of fanfare accorded to his performances for Brentford comes mostly from what happened him not from how good he was for them

Couldn't agree more.
There's no way to make these things not cringeworthy, and clearly they're done for marketing & advertisement purposes.

Came across very mature in his interview, kind of made the host look like a fool haha. He’s going to be absolute class for us.

I really like this signing, but I do wonder how we will incorporate him. If we play Bruno and him in midfield I think we need a proper, really strong DM, which we don't have. I don't feel McT or Fred are up to that. For that purposed I'd be targeting a DM. I think Frenkie can do that, but I don't know if that's his best role. And I don't think we'll get him. But if we do and we played Bruno and Eriksen with Frenkie sitting behind, I'm not sure that gets the most out of Frenkie. Maybe with Eriksen getting older he can sit back a bit and let Bruno be the sole AM. With Eriksen and Fred/De Jong behind him. Really excited to see what comes of this. I'd be signing a bona fide DM but I trust Ten Hag and feel really positive about him. Is there any concern about the pacemaker? I guess if the medical team have OK'd it all then it's not worth worrying about?

We were specifically referencing the manufactured reunion with Brandon Williams after their moment in the fixture at Carrow Road last season.

You realize I was laughing at the shot of Brandon Williams hugging Eriksen, right?

Club being embarrassing, yet again.

Milking this 30 year old "free transfer" as much as they can, to mask the fact that we've spent naff all so far. Obviously a decent player, yeah, but not exactly groundbreaking or a global superstar; like the club is trying to have you believe. If he didn't recover from Cardiac Arrest, nobody would care about this transfer at all. In fact, the majority of you lot would probably be fecking fuming.

Or we would appreciate that we have signed a quality midfield player for free.

Stop getting too worked up about social media. Of course they're milking it, they want the clicks.

Nope, just calling it as it is. Like I said, if he never had the unfortunate cardiac arrest, people would be fuming at this transfer. And rightly so. Our midfield is in dire need of help, and here we are, picking up freebies - instead of investing in quality that will tide us over more than a season or two. This type of transfer is why we're in the current state we're in. Constantly trying to patch gaping holes with quick fixes; instead of addressing the root cause.

For a couple of seasons, at best.

Why? Because I'm calling it as I see it and not being blindsided by the clubs obvious façade?

Our squad in in the worst state it's been in, in the past 25+ years, and we've done nothing to address that this transfer window - despite our worst ever Premier League finish.

I think we’ve made the biggest upgrade possible in appointing ten Hag. That’s bigger than any transfer. Let’s hope a couple of more players are on there way, and that’s a good start, imo.

I’ve already said that I’ve never really rated Eriksen but I have complete faith in ten Hag so I don’t think we should be too worried, mate. I get your POV but I’ve got hope we’ll be alright!

Nothing? Only sacked our manager and hired a new manager, sacked our entire scouting department, signed three players, let several players go and are actively trying to get more out, and are currently trying to bring a fourth player in.

What did you realistically expect to happen in one window?

We are attempting to sign 25 year old Frenkie De Jong as part of a midfield that contains Bruno Fernandes. The latter was also signed at 25 years of age. Up top we have Jadon Sancho who was signed at 21, academy graduate Marcus Rashford, whilst expressing an interest in Antony, 22. De Gea, signed at 20, Shaw as a teenager, same for Dalot. Even this summer we have signed 22 year old Malacia and 24 year old Martinez.

We should have a mix of youth and experience. Perhaps we feel that Eriksen can adapt to a slightly deeper role and give us five or six quality years.

Eriksen isn't a bad player. He'll do ok for us, I'm sure. But the club trying to pander and placate the fans by using Eriksen's popularity, (like it or not: due to his cardiac arrest), by "drumming up" the transfer to try to hide the fact we've not addressed our obvious midfield issues, (outside of a free transfer of a 30 year old). . . . is shameful.

I don't understand what's there to rage about. Not like we splashed £70m on him. He isn't a prime Scholes but we could do much worse than signing Eriksen on a free.

Uh, I dunno, maybe sign players that would add real quality? Like the teams around us?

We brought in a left back, when we had two.

We brought in a CB, when we have, like 10.

We brought in a 30 year old free transfer to replace Pogba, Mata, Matic and Lingard. Whilst our midfield was ALREADY a shambles

I genuinely cannot believe how utterly blindsided the lot of you are by the clubs feeble transfer window. I said the exact same shit when we brough Cavani in - and how did he work out for us?

The club is constantly patching issues up with free transfers, or players past their prime, and you lot lap it up.

And we could do a lot better. We aren't broke; yet we look for bargain basement players constantly, rather than fixing the glaring issues that we've had for years.

I don't know what you are on. Our problem has been massively overpaying for mediocre players rather than "looking for bargain basement players".

How many free transfers have we picked up, from players looking for one final pay day on stupidly ridiculous wages?

In recent years: Ibra, Cavani, Sanchez, Ronaldo, Eriksen.

Players past their prime, good for a couple of seasons, (at best), and used as a bandage to patch up glaring issues.

Overly sensitive pussies, so easily discombobulated. When men used to be men, the antithesis of a Bryan Robson male. Instead, we have a bunch who are as soft as they come. Whinge and constantly claiming to be embarrassed.

I bet their girlfriends beat the crap out of them. Soft, soft men.
