Just boot him out already!
Once again some of you are showing your true colours and needlessly being rude to @esmufc07. Trying to kick him out of the country simply for being a complete and total knob-end is NOT okay. It's bullying and I'd ask you to be nicer to that useless piece of shit in future please.

Chelseas summer:

PlayerFee
Raheem Sterling€56.20m
Kalidou Koulibaly€38.00m
Gabriel Slonina€9.09m
Marc Cucurella (Not yet complete)€59.70m
Carney Chukwuemeka€17.90m
Wesley Fofana (Rumoured interest)??
Frenkie De Jong (Interest)??
Benjamin Sesko (Interest)??
Total€182.69 / £154m

Chelsea have now spent £154m on players this summer now including todays deal for Carney Chukwuemeka.

How they can afford De Jong even with throwing in Alonso and Azpilicueta I have no idea. I doubbt Barca would accept a deal for less money too. How much can Chelsea actually realistically spend? they have replaced Rudiger at this point but they need long term strengthening at the back which is why maybe they're looking at Fofana now.

Issue is, Koulibaly is 31 hardly a long term fix. Are they somehow going to spend £200M or £250M?

They're apparently interested in Sesko who will cost upwards of €40m, Fofana you're talking around €70m minimum, De Jong is going to cost at least €70m so who are they bluffing on?
Was Chuk less than 18m euros? Everywhere I've seen said £20m.

They also signed Hutchinson from Arsenal. Another 18 year old CM.
That would be quite funny on their behalf to sign 2 young CM’s and then sign FDJ on top. Just a big middle finger straight away upon joining.

This rules out any deal to give azpi and alonso as part of FDJ deal. If Chelsea do want FDJ, looks like they’ll have to pay the full 80-85m.

Not sure if that’s good or bad?

perhaps looking to save money replacing him by extending and moving on to FDJ?

Hmm, yeah fair point. I thought it was good in the sense it gave chelsea more leverage with Barca. But yeah it could be bad as well as it means one less player chelsea need to buy.

Could be either really. Not sure how much Barca wanted him? If they really did then can’t see them being happy about that and I’m sure Laporta said that there could be more incomings but that depends on Chelsea? indicating Azpilicueta?

It looks like something is happening though

Jokes aside Chelsea are not paying upwards of £70m for a central midfielder while they have Jorginho Kovacic and Kante on the books, all on big money. And RLC, Gilmour and Gallagher behind them.

Not in a window when they're signing so much elsewhere. Central midfield is the one position they're solid with, along with right back.

Azpi I can understand but I was very surprised at Barca wanting Alonso. Im sure they’ve got better options in the club and on the market than him. Even if he was used as part of the deal, I can’t see him being valued more than 10m in any deal.

This has been mentioned a few times. Kante and Jorginho are gone next summer. Chelsea are probably planning ahead. One of those two may even be let go this summer if they get FDJ.

Wasn't it reported at the start of the window that ETHs number 1 target was Kante? Was this the plan all along

I’ve not seen any reports linking us with Kante under ETH. He doesn’t fit the type of profile ETH would want in that position.

Azpi the first player to see past the BS that is Barca?
I think it’s more likely that chelsea have insisted they need him to stay due to shortage of numbers. Chelsea were planning for having Kounde. It may be that they’ve lost hope of signing Fofana due to the price.

Azpi has been eager to go to Barca for a couple of years I believe.

They are still there now though..

and I’ve not heard anything linking any of their CMs away from the club?

I’m not saying they won’t be sniffing around as let’s be honest Boehly has been like a fly around shit this summer. Sticking his nose in any deal he can with Cucerella being a prime example.

Just doesn’t seem a priority for them when you consider the fee and overall package it would cost.

if Azil. was that eager to join Barca he could have said no to a contract renewal with Chelsea

It’s been reported CM wasn’t their priority as they needed other positions. But the reason they got interested was because FDJ is a unique profile which are hard to find and it would be a problem they would need to solve next summer.

If I was to guess, I would say neither Kante or Jorginho will be at Chelsea in 18 months. Jorginho has repeatedly been linked with a move to Juve, and could move even this summer, though I doubt it. I've said all along that I don't think Chelsea will sign FDJ, as many others have pointed out, we do have other priorities and he's expensive, but if the opportunity presents itself, I don't think Chelsea will pass up the chance to sign him.

They are both at the moment not signing new deals, Jorginho has interested from Juve

He still wouldn’t be able to leave as his contract hasn’t expired. It’s common to reward a player for staying by extending their contract and giving them more security especially when they are into their 30s.

The kings of freebies? That negotiation wouldn't end until 2035.
 but yes the point being the interest is more a forward looking one into solving a big problem they may have next summer

Definitely expected them to go big this summer, didn't they take out a credit facility for that reason specifically?
I agree though I don't see them signing both Forfana and De Jong

I think if they sell one of their main CMs then the FDJ deal could happen but Chelsea aren’t adding him and keeping the rest on the books for the next 12-18 months in my opinion.
