Surely we’ve got to get this done or move the feck on??

No pre season with us means he’d be on the backfoot anyway. I Was really hoping we have our transfer business wrapped up early this year to give ETH a chance to drill his philosophy into what will be our squad.

In fairness, if the accusation is Boehly only buys people he knows from FIFA then it is SUPER likely he knows De Jong. Great pickup. I’ve had him on my career mode Chelsea teams since Fifa20.

All kidding aside I could definitely see this move being a more positive replacement going forward to Jorgihno. But we seem to be in essentially the same place as United, except we won’t make an offer until the player himself gives the green light, which seems reasonable.

Barca need to understand quickly that all the pressure tactics in the world arent going to make this kid crack on the money issue. It oddly makes me want him as a player. Strong will.

This also allows us to say to Alonso and Azpi: “we have looked into ways of giving you what. There are things out of our control that need to make that happen” which is a positive for our relations with our players in case they stay.

I get the complaints about our scouting, but isn't it the same for many big clubs? Which unexpected and brilliantly scouted player did Chelsea or City sign the last years? Seems to be a bit of a trap for big clubs, maybe thinking only the better known players are good enough/sure enough bets to make it at the top
Does Chelsea get any credit for signing DeBruyne and Salah… before letting them both leave? The scouts who found them should be called up. Whoever found Bruno did well in our set up, but beyond him we should just scrap our entire scouting network and instead set up a few dedicated Caf users with FM account ms and then collate the results. Literally can’t do any worse than the professionals urging the signing of Bebe and we’ll save millions in the process.

We are a few months away from Barca telling La Liga that they are playing half their home games in Saudi Arabia.
:lol::lol: I bet they’ve explored the idea of playing a few matches there. There was a proposal from some American owners of having a 39th match in the states, or having a rotating fixture in the states of two premier clubs. The Saudis are the Faustian bargain we’ve all been waiting for.

Salah, no. He played and scored against us in the CL for Basel before we signed him. I think Liverpool were close to signing him too.

Matic, KDB and Courtois though, probably yes.

Midfield is a bit boring of the current crop of players out there.

Talking maybe two or three greats out there, I honestly struggle to list them. KDB, Thiago, Kroos, Modric maybe at the very top? Busquets obviously aged now.

Last generation: Keane, Scholes, Iniesta, Xavi, Pirlo, Vieira, Yaya Toure, Schweinsteiger, Sneijder, Zidane, Seedorf, Makelele, Ballack, Gerrard, Lampard

Really sapped for players now even though the EPL is the most dominant league in the world, the same quality isn't there which is strange really. Are there many on a team sheet you see now and think you're in for a tough game?

Damn lad you never know he may have got tips off that Dutch chap, oh ya know him, sat on the bench or at home for 4 yrs collecting 150 grand a week whilst only playing 9 games, did ya have his pics on your wall given all the mouthing back then from Chelsea fans about how you signed a player in Winston Bograde better than any of the UTD fullbacks here at the time.

Bogarde quote:

"This world is about money, so when you are offered those millions you take them. Few people will ever earn so many. I am one of the few fortunates who do. I may be one of the worst buys in the history of the Premiership but I don't care."

Refreshing honesty.

Shame La Liga season starts a week later, means that registration date is another 10 days away, ugh
Pretty sure this will be wrapped up either way before then. I don't think Barca will want it to drag out until the last moment for them to register players... Unless of course they activate another lever, then who the hell knows

No offence intended here, but by god you, well the newbies were bad here in my part of Dublin when the red one took over, and I am saying that as a person who had to bloody endured pools fans in the 80s, but by god those new 03 Chelsea fans were insufferable and annoying as hell, now truth be told it did piss off even some off the older Chelsea fans I knew, more so one I worked with, as 03 for the first time since 82 he couldn't get a Chelsea jersey for weeks on end, whereas normal it was sat there waiting for him.
