McFred as a midfield duo heading into 2022/23 season

I'd go as far as saying this is the worst midfield pairing in the entire league. If its not the worst then its bottom 3 for sure. That is how bad these two players are. It is worse than gross negligence for the club to happily start a new season with these two clowns not on their way out.

If the transfer window shuts and we don’t have two midfielders in at least then we are just admitting we aren’t here to compete anymore.

Really annoying posts like this. Total lack of knowledge putting McTominay into one sentence with Fred. One is a very poor championship player stealing a living here, second is one of our TOP3-5 player past 3 years.

But even the dumbest posters will see it once we finally shift McTominay to the bench and out of the squad by the end of the season that Fred is absolutely key player despite us being short in midfield for the second spot and him playing again out of position because we didn't land a more natural no6.
I hope you’re watching the match today.

Same s…different season Mctominay needs to come off asap let’s hope ETH understands 5 sub rule, we can’t afford 10 players and the team still looks like it going to concede 2/3 goals per game and now we I’ve had enough of this team and ownership we are in for 4-0 again

That's what the manager and the idiots working above him get for prioritising a ball playing CB over ball playing midfielders.

Actually I believe the only "zero flexibility" players are Bruno and AWB. Maybe ETH can work on Bruno but IMO this is what he is.
The rest is quite flexible, but the problem is we want to push it too hard. Fred is not a DM/single pivot although he can "do the job there" , Eriksen is not a CM in 2 man midfield although he can "do the job there", Rashford is not a natural winger although he can "do the job there", so on and so on. I do not think the way forward is to push players out of position because we need to squeeze all attacking players on the pitch. It is quite a popular idea on the Caf though.
You're kidding me right? Just those two with no flexibility? Did you not watch us last season? I'm struggling to actually think of any flexible players. We need to move on from 'can do a job there' to 'can do a job anywhere'

Ten Hag won't be here by the end of the season if he keeps starting these two clowns

The people that think Fred shouldn't be lumped with Mctominay are in dreamland. He might not be as bad but I've been adamant he's not good enough to be here either. Awful awful pairing.
Being paired with McTominay is the best thing that ever happened to him. Everyone rightfully focuses on McTominay's shitness and doesn't realize Fred also isn't good enough.

"only the right players"

Literally anyone is better than McFred.

I don't ever want to hear the "4 managers have all chosen McFred and I think they know more than you!" argument ever again. At this point any manager who persists with these two is a braindead idiot. I believe in Ten Hag and think he will quickly realise his mistake.

They are awful. So bad. Everything wrong with us starts with them. Absolutely everything.

We just can't go into the season like this. People aren't happy with the likes of Nevez?

I don't get it. Everybody who watch football know that those two are not good but ETH still starts with them. Unbelievable

He’s going to have to completely abandon how he wants to play or get new players before window shuts. It’s as simple as that, because this will only get repeated week in week out otherwise.

Can’t quite tell who’s worse.

Surely Garner can take Mctominay’s place in the team.

And Fred the Red can replace Fred as far as I’m concerned. He’s that useless.

We need to be clear now as a fanbase that we will not tolerate the selection of these two. If that means booing/heckling/chanting against them in the stadium its a small thing we can do.

Not a nice thing, not a "personal" thing but it's unacceptable. I don't care what the alternatives are, these two cannot be picked ever, for any reason.

That is me done watchin the rest of this game and future games with this set up and I include Fernandes with mcfred as he is just as at fault for the complete lack of control in possession

McTominay would not start for another EPL side. One of the worst players in the division.

Caceido is a pretty average player, but he genuinely looks to be three times the player McFred are

We should be snapping up any two competent mid table centre mids we can get our hands on to at least give us a fighting chance until we can upgrade further.

I see this game as a positive. Still three weeks of the transfer window, this is a better scenario then us performing really well early and then regressing after the window closes.

We need at least one midfielder
