When have we ever signed a 28 year old that absolutely nobody on here has ever heard of? I don’t know whether to be excited or very scared.

We have been crying out for a defensive midfielder and a new striker for months in fact years with the former and so far we have come up with Arnautovic, Rabiot and now Rodriguez....wtf is going on?
I have seen him a couple of times and for Argentina.......think of a poor version of Paulinha who FULHAM signed for a fee like this.
It says a lot when we have two strikers one of whch doesnt want to be here, the other has been poor bar his first three months and half a season soinc ehe came years ago... and not a single defensive midfielder, yet I think the players we are linked to dont actually improve us much at all and this is with McFred. ANd the players we have signed so far agruably dont raise our first eleven anywhere near enough short term anyway
Would seriously rather be giving minutes to some of our youngsters in similar positions and virtually all of them are either not ready or dont look good enough.
In a summer where dream world half the club would be sold and virtually a new first eleven bought but ever realistically 12+ players should have been sold and 6/7 bought, what we have done so far and appear to be doing in the transfer market.....people will be calling For Ten Hags head by January. I know little about him to judge how good he is or could become.....but he doesnt have a hope of cracking the top four with whats happening and if we are down in 7/8th plave, inveitably the fans anger will at some point turn to the manager.
Somebody in this thread gave a decent comprehensive list (yet still missing several) of players we have already missed out on, several have gone to other clubs far lower down the premiership pecking order than us. There are also quite a few we should have been after but no interest seemed to come from us or really oher clubs such as Caqueret that signed a new contract.
Yet still there are the likes of Gusto, Giouri, Sulemana, Doku, Tonali, Thuram (the one at Nice) off the top of my head as players that havent moved, are young, have not had serious links, have bags of talent, improve us in areas we need signings and offer huge long term potential.....yet here we are linked with jounrnmen.
I am starting to wonder if there is a spy high up in our scouting or recruitment team, as its almost like someone is trying to take us backwards if that is even possible, uter disgrace and embarrassment on and off the pitch this club at the moment, no wonder players are not wanting to com ehere. It isnt lack of cl football, look at what Spurs did last season in the market, look at what Arsenal have done this summer.....you dont need to follow our club as a footballer to see the football is poor, the dressing woom iws weak and the club is rudderless, more heads need to role and somebody needs the balls to be ruthless

We can't have it every way people. Im among the biggest critics of our current shit show but we don't get to moan about rabiot as being an obvious panic signing and also about this guy being unknown. Maybe he's among a list of back ups that were there in case de jong didn't happen, that would improve us and preserve budget for any top midfielders that come available in next year or so.
