I see where you're coming from, and it could of course happen, but they still haven't bid and even when they do, we're still there or thereabouts
for sure. Don’t get me wrong, i hope it happens, and until a week ago was 100%sure if would, but if Chelsea are serious, i don’t seeany reason why he’d join this current United side over them.

Chilwell is Chelsea's 21. Which means Frenkie isn't going there. Hope this helps x

If he ends up at Chelsea, Laurel and Hardy should both be sacked with immediate effect. Again ask, have they even talked to Frenkie?

The player has certainly made a decision on leaving Barca hasn't he. If it's true that we've agreed a fee with the agent, then we're certainly still in with a chance and it's now a straight shoot out.

Hopefully Erik will be ringing him non stop so all Bohley gets is "Hi this is Frenkie and Mikky's voicemail."

Open question to all -

Over the last decade when United have been in battle for a key player against a better team, they've just thrown the money at it.

Chelsea need a defender and a striker more and with De Jong too, they're closing in on £400m spent. Surely there's a limit to what they can spend on a midfielder. They can't just keep spending.

So... Do you think should just throw the money at it again and blow Chelsea out the water to avoid the backlash if they don't sign him - Or should they stay true to their limits and risk the likelihood he'll choose Chelsea if money is similar?

if it all comes down to what the player wants so be it, but it won’t look the best if he chooses Chelsea after we’ve waited patiently like a loyal dog all summer. I know what I think is most likely.

History suggests, and with how the club has been spoken about lately, we’ll do everything we can to get this over the line at this point, especially with so much at stake.

In this scenario, do they still have a landline? Absolute wrong ‘uns. Steer well clear.

If we've had assurances that he'd come, but he's now reneging on those promises, i'm not sure how the blame can be put at their door. They've done all they can in my opinion.

If he's made a decision, then i'd say that it's a private one that no one really knows about.

He's still maintaining he wants to stay, and more power too him in that situation. Make Barca honour his contract. I still believe he'll end up leaving and i truly believe that he'll end up here after all is said and done.

No, she just demands to be on his voicemail (she was saying her name too, in case that wasn't clear) to put out a warning to all the chicas

Have they talked to him? We don't know. He hasn't denied the stories of wanting to go to Chelsea more than come to us...

Love the optimism. I'm convinced now that he'll leave Barca and I think it's 50/50 on where he ends up

So what was the nonsense with only putting in a bid when they know the player wants to join?
Something doesn’t smell right with this

For Frenkie? Throw money at him. He would completely change our ability to control matches in the middle of the park and progress the ball up the field.

Hopefully we can convince him that he will be KEY to our team. We need to make him feel loved and wanted, especially after this treatment at Barca.

At Chelsea he will be just another midfielder in a list of very good options, but at United he will be the lynchpin.

I really do hope the club are doing everything possible to help convince him, and just as importantly his partner. Can they find her a house with a fecking beach in the back garden?

Chelsea have been doing this all window though. Raphinah and Kounde were accepted bids.

Was thinking about it also. If we had a better midfield or good enough alternative then I would be against throwing everything at him. Considering that we don't have either and the season started, we should pay up.

Has anybody noticed that FdJ’s hairstyle is similar to that of Gaz Neville’s back in the 90’s? Surely an omen of things to come.

This has dragged on so much I am barely excited about the prospect of him playing for us, I just want us to sign him so that Gerard Romero and Managing Barca look like mugs.

Something hasn't sat right with me throughout all of this.

Chelsea had nothing to lose by putting a bid in right away. All the reports, if you chose to believe them, said that he wanted to join them, so why wait? Surely thats showing hesitation on Chelseas end? If he TRULY wanted to go to Chelsea, as soon as the bid went in, and they paid his wages off, he'd be gone.
People say they don't want to get burned again... why would it matter? They've got the money to just go elsewhere again.
