I mean this article is obviously bull, but Glazers needed to invest the kind of money that Chelsea are investing in several areas of the team if they really wanted us to compete. It'll be half measures again in terms of squad building, and ten Hag will ultimately take the fall.

Once upon a time, for Arsenal, not competing for titles was a disaster. Then it became not qualifying for the Champions League. Now being in 'the race for top four' is acceptable for Arsenal.

For the Glazers Man Utd is a cash cow. Yes, if we are really successful they can take more money out. However, as long as they can take out what they consider to be an acceptable amount, they will not be bothered by trying to win the league.
Rob Dawson has been pretty reliable to be fair. There's probably some truth in this. I think its partially due to the fact the new champions league format kicks in the year after next. So we won't actually need to finish 4th to get champions league. It could get real ugly if the Glazers decide there's no real need to invest as a result.

This is definitely somewhat believable at least because ESPN have a big presence in the Dutch sports scene and so have clearly had decent sources around ten Hag from day one based on their accuracy in transfer rumours.
The ‘journalists’ just love to kick Man Utd when they’re down- as do fans of every other club in the country! I guess it still shows we’re relevant! Making shit up about us gets their most views so I can understand why they do it!
Reading the actual article, it's a very logical position to take. We've mostly said it on here in various forms that we need to gradually build our way back to the top - they're basically saying manage expectations for that exact reason
