I have to run a busy restaurant tonight with the thought of this shit team in my head
A busy restaurant should take your mind off the game if it's a non stop rush.

I've got the whole day free to dwell in hatred, self loathing, bitterness and dejection! 1st world problems.

RR said this team needed open heart surgery, and absolute joke of players at this club that somehow fans thought were going to put an effort in!

I feel sorry for ETH that he has to work with the most insipid, brainless and pathetic excuse of professional footballers.

I of course think the bulk of the blame is on the players, but I also think ten Hag is much like every other Dutch manager I’ve seen in that he thinks his ardent philosophy will so easily translate into a side who have never played coherently Cruijffian passing triangles ever. There’s a level of naivety on his part also.
I don’t disagree with this. But isn’t it also about time we back our managers with the players they want, properly, instead of always setting them up for failure? We aren’t going to win anything with these players. So I firmly believe it’s time to blow it up and fix it ground up. And everything you said should have been known to the board. Why hire him if you don’t want him to play his style of football and back him in doing so? It’s just stupid in and of itself.

If we really want to give ETH a chance then we stick with his style. Continue to lose games. But maybe some players will learn. And maybe they stay and find a role. And we replace and buy others. If we don’t, then we just rinse and repeat managers who will always fail.

I’m not saying we can’t criticise him. Team selection today was naive. But like I said, in the grand scheme of things, it’s a moot point.

I almost can't wait for Slabhead's interview after the game: "Yeah, obviously we're disappointed. We wanna do better, etc. etc.".
“We were really up for it before the game, and the first two minutes we were on the front foot, but then we lost our confidence and let our heads drop and it seemed like they wanted it a bit more…”

It is really weird. Some of our play I thought were pretty good, although final ball can and should be improve. But somehow we trail behind 4-0.

The noticeable thing from my untrained eyes are that we seems to lose to every physical challenge and our back four especially Shaw seems very slow. So I really dunno what is going on.

When was the last time we came back 4 behind to win the game?

I’ve Said it all along. Maguire - Martinez is not the pairing to start with. Maguire have been paired with exactly everyone and it turns to shit!

Martinez - Varane. Lets try that one.
And then buy a fecking MIDFIELD please.
I wish it was that simple.

It would be just as bad with Varane. The only players showing any heart are the new players and soon the rot will get to them and they won't have any heart left either.

Had to laugh at the third goal which happened because United thought it was a good idea to buy a 5'9" CB

I hope they go on to score several more. I hope at some point Ronaldo walks off the pitch and quits. I hope at some point ETH has a meltdown and gets into a physical confrontation with someone on the touchline.

To be fair, if they scored 4 goals in the first half, there's no reason why we can't.

I have complete belief in us to concede another 4 in that second half.

Are you proud of yourselves now, Glazers? This is what you built, you are the living version of Hugh Culverhouse.

We literally needed ten signings to even begin the rebuild from last season we've made 3 and one of them Martinez was the wrong one a undersized centre back?

We definitley deseve all this for being so fecking stupid and naive about our position.

Worse than the Liverpool thrashing tbh.

This team needed tearing apart this summer because most of these players haven't been good enough for years now.

i was thinking that at 2-0 when the game was already over. The players are gone.

The players are falling like they're entitles, they're not.

If only ETH had listened to me and put Donny in place of Bruno. All would have been well. Promise.

Ten Hag should walk if he has any sense. Can’t coach the uncoachables - Glazers don’t care either.

finished as a club as long as Glazers are around.

In all honesty this season could become a total disaster if nothing happens on the market the next few weeks. We’re in relegation form this moment and this team is NOT too good to be in a relegation battle this season. I thought things couldn’t get worse after last season but the struggle is real! Damn! The Southampton game on the 27th will be HUGE for the club and Ten Hag especially.

Surprised he didn't do some statement subs in the first half to be honest.

Short CBs are great in a dominating team. Once we start dominating, we will see the best of Martinez. Right now we are no where close to a fluid dominating team. Particularly with De Gea's ball playing skills, its too soon to see his merit.

ETH wasn’t responsible for De Gea being garbage for the first two goals, he didn’t fail to mark his man on the third goal like Martinez, and he didn’t fail to run back on defense like Shaw for the fourth goal. At the end of the day, it all goes back to us having zero ability to build out of the back

And people laughed when Toney was mentioned as a potential signing?? We're a team full of cowards. Bailly was our best defender during preseason and we'd still rather play Maguire? Absolutely spineless performance, they've barely had to do anything to batter us.

Maguire has to be dropped. If you want to play out from the back in a calm and composed manner, Maguire cannot be one of your CBs

Have you not been watching any pre-season games at all? We've played like that, and will continue to play like that under ten Hag.

Eriksen must do better. The ball was to his feet. He could have decided to play it back to De Gea. What you don't do is lose it in that position! Shit play and cost us a goal.
Have to agree. I at first wanted to blame DDG, but Ericksen was at fault here. He tried to play an inside pass to Maguire, because he didn't know the closing player was on his left. A simple touch to his outside would have beaten the press.

    We need a proper six.

We genuinely could go down, Shaw and Maguire are two of the worst players in the league. Dalot is awful too
Don't be silly. You're never going down. At some point EtH will correct the course, he's just learning his PL trade the hard way. Even with this lot, there's no way you won't be in the top 10 at worst.

This team is embarrassing.... from De Gea (who some wanted as captain) through to Ronaldo who cleary wants out. Martinez already proven an expensive waste when we have at least equally good CBs. Will they fight in 2nd half or will we be thrashed before next weeks daunting game.

    Ronaldo
    Sancho
    Martinez

are the only ones I'd keep
Sancho because he had a shit 1st season and we hope he gets better?
    Martinez because he is new..
    Ronaldo because??? memories?

    They are all shit..

Football hasnt changed that much.. The basics remain the same.
No team can succeed without a strong spine.. We need a spine.. a commanding GK.. commanding CBs, midfielders and 1 forward.. and need some leadership..

We arent getting anywhere till we fix our spine.

Right now, we need a GK that can inspire some confidence.. we need 2 midfielders who are competent and dont shit themselves every 20 minutes...
