I don't understand why we insist on buying players who have very little interest in joining us. I don't want FdJ here. He's going to be expensive, highly paid but with little motivation and will look for the exit at the first hardship. There has to be other midfielders in the world.

I agree. Some people truly do think that transfers are like football manager... just go in, make a bid, get accepted and sign the player. It's never quite that easy. These clubs that seem to wrap them up quickly have probably worked for months behind the scenes to get it done. just because you don't see it happening, doesn't mean it's not
People understand that its not like football manager. They are just mad that we havent done the behind the scenes work that other clubs do effortlessly.

I think those other clubs might be a bit put out by calling their work "effortless" I am sure they have the same difficulties, they just aren't under the same kind of microscope.

Pretty sure they don't have the difficulties of sorting out a £17m deferred wage issue either.

Given the resilience he’s shown this summer I find it hard to believe that the first hardship will see him off.

So do you have any justification for this belief that doesn’t contain the term “Di Maria”?

Then fire up that engine and start shoveling some coal. Because muppetry demands full steam ahead.

Choo Chooo!
No a proper Muppet train would be one in which the player sits on the train and the Muppets push from the back

You think I dont want the transfer to happen? I am confused
I've cast you as the villainous sidekick in this movie, Please don't take it personally. You're on the dark side, but you show the odd look here and there that proves there is good inside you. Who knows, when this ends on September 1st. You could be the hero.

Ten Hag sounds like he has to convince these players to actually come as our main problem.

From here to there
I would be shocked to my core if this deal was completed before we play Liverpool.

If this deal even happens it will be deadline day at the earliest.

You know that 100% for sure?

I don't get the hang up some people have about how much players cost and are paid. I don't give a stuff, pay whats needed to bring them here. Other teams do.

Where has all this optimism come from?
This thread is like a pendulum that swings back and forth with little to no stimulus. One day lots of optimism for no reason, the next day lots of pessimism for no reason, then back the other way the next day. It's remarkable considering the actual information on offer to us has not changed very much for a long time.

No i think he meant all this optimism has come out of goldbridge and alex crook’s arsehole.
Not even that. They’re piggy backing the Dutch report saying we would make a big move for De Jong next week and adding mysterious sources to their lies.
This is how fake ITKs operate

wtf ? Simple question….been offline since Brentford so haven’t been keeping tabs. No need for that
Van der Kraan has a stated United have agreements with both club and agents. It has been said the push to complete the deal will intensify this week.

Multiple reports have then said FDJ has told colleagues he’s upset at Barca and will likely go to United.

Chelsea are still yet to make a bid and it’s been suggested they have still had no encouragement and are close to scrapping their interest amidst their bids for Fofana and now Gordon.
