With the reason being what exactly? Based on FFP criteria, we are clearly able to spend not less than some other big teams.
Would be nice if Casemiro signing convinced FDJ to make the move too. I know it’s unlikely we do both but what an upgrade that would be.
It would be great but Casemiro looks like a backup option to FDJ. Dont think we will spend ~200 million on Casemiro/FDJ/Martinez and still needing another 100 million or more to buy attackers. Casemiro/FDJ/<Forward> would have been ideal summer.

If De Jong still would come we’d 100% buy him and noone else this window

Why not? Of course the shambles we are in require 250-300m net investment - alternative to that is relegation and oblivion.

Then, we need to stop being shy of selling shit. We have at least 11 players to dispose of (and that’s not counting Garner, Elanga and youngsters) - certainly we can raise at least 100m in sales if Rashford is also sold

Good thing they didn't spend the whole summer chasing a different cm

I like the move, but its very late to be bringing him in now when the season is already spiralling
A win against Liverpool and we will have more points than them.

Felix, Griezmann, Morata, Cunha, Carrasco. Only Correa and Lemar left before we've been linked with every single Atletico forward in the span of a few days. And it's not even fringe sources.

We are absolutely desperate now, almost glad Ajax rejected it , must surely be poor bang for the buck

Not 100% convinced about Gakpo. From what I have seen, he doesn't have the close control ability someone like Antony has when running with the ball. It's the same thing that gave me a bad feeling about Memphis when I watched him play for us.

Relegation ? Come on, it is just 2 games. If the current squad is relegation material, then Casemiro/FDJ wont be the ones to rescue from it.

250m net is way too high investment. If there are good players available it is worth a punt but with the players available spending money would not guarantee success. You will have players like VDB, Pogba whom no one will be ready to pay the money we bought for.

Ajax are batshit crazy
If we really bid 80 million and they rejected it , it possible they will agree for ~90 million. I dont think they are that stupid to turn down that fee.

On the other hand, we are pretty stupid in making those deals. No way we should be sign him for more than 60 mill.

Same. Saving us from our selves.

Complete Casemiro. Get Pulisic in on loan with buy option. Get a backup GK. Sign FDJ. That would be good for me.

It was reported that Ajax raised their price to 100m. They're not gonna accept 90 considering they did the same with Martinez.

Ajax just lost out on the swindling of a lifetime. Nobody is going to bid anywhere near that ever again for Antony. The club needs to put that money towards a good young central midfielder immediately.

Why are we only now pulling our finger out?! Glazers under pressure? Frenkie falling through?
