Can Anderson score? No.
Hope its a red herring. Laughing stock if we pay a 100million regardless of currency for Antony.
If it was Zimbabwean dollars that would actually be an incredible deal

You think Martinelli has shown more than Antony so far?
remember when we were celebrating a change in ideas and "walking away from obviously stupid fees and deals."
100m for this bloke and it is very likely that Ajax sat around and thought "what figure could we brief that just ends this so we can focus on pre-season". We rightly pulled back after they briefed that figure and now because panic/hysteria has set in for Arnold and Murtough, here we are. I'd laugh if I wasn't already crying. We are acting like complete clowns in this window.

What on earth?I sure hope so. And I even rate him a lot. I'd be willing to accept an €80M deal if we had sold Rashford to PSG. But we haven't sold anyone. And a €100M for Antony is borderline criminal regardless of circumstances. I feel like an investigation should be launched. Possible misappropriation of funds or something. It's so outlandish. It has to be fake.
We spent 2 years negotiating for Sancho to get the price down to a somewhat reasonable level and we've just chucked silly money straight back out there for most players we've bid for this summer. I've given up any hope of us becoming shrewd negotiators until there's a change of ownership, even then it might be too late to undo the damage. These transfer fees are inherently linked to having owners who don't care enough to put a proper recruitment team in place. We paid £80m for Harry Maguire. Honestly, at that point, all bets were off on United’s transfer fees. With that as the benchmark, how can you possibly justify any low or high fees for players? It’s all out the window.
That's an absolutely bizarre example. Ten years ago, in the 2011/12 season, Ronaldo scored 60 goals in 55 games for Real Madrid. He'd be near enough priceless - and €100m would be daylight fecking robbery. If Ronaldo was 10 years younger would you be bidding 100m? I dont think so.
Got nothing to do with the negotiation team, the selling club decide the price. Or maybe they could have tried to sort things out earlier and not 2 weeks before deadline day when the prices are sky high.Got nothing to do with the negotiation team, the selling club decide the price. If they don’t want to sell, they don’t want to sell.
It’s like people expect us to bid under the asking price and expect us to low ball them & have them bend over and let us walk all over them. It doesn’t work like that.
I’m sure there’s a middle ground to work to & that’s how negotiations work but 9/10 the selling club will get what they want through add ons etc etc
It’s so late in the window prices are gonna get a lil expensive but you can blame EtH pushing for FDJ for too long before focusing on other players for that.

Its a thing. Arsenal held an investigation for the money they spent on Pepe. If you think spending 150m+ on two eredivise players is fine then one can only laugh. What on earth?
Why would he be?

If you've got a solid recruitment team they will be able to identify a group of players who suit the needs of the team and work their way down the list. That's how it works at most clubs. If a team is being obstinate in their valuation of player A, move onto player B. Our player B seems to be Gakpo, a completely different profile of player who doesn't even play the same position. Everything is back to front and when that's the case, you get taken to the cleaners because you just end up paying whatever price the first club quotes you.Got nothing to do with the negotiation team, the selling club decide the price. Now people want an investigation on us spending money? Sometimes this football club simply can't win, people will always find a reason to whinge.
Yeah so again blame goes to Murtough and Arnold for blindly allowing ETH to do whatever he wants. Its their job to make sure that the window is planned properly. What did I say?
No we would be bidding 200+ with a host of other big clubs contending and in the end he would be at PSG for 250 million. Wtf is this even. Bizarre. If Ronaldo was 10 years younger would you be bidding 100m? I dont think so.
I honestly believe they’re looking to sell the club by the end of the season & all this investment in players is to try & prop up the price of the club. That being said though, playing staff will do square root of feck all when stadium rebuilt or renovations & training ground investment is what is going to cost the most for any new owner. (Besides the cost of the actual club of course)But it does seem like more money has been made available after the pressure put on the owners after the first two defeats. How the Casemiro deal got done quickly is a reflection of the pressure the owners are under imo, and they're are trying to maintain the price of their asset.
Richarlison I'd happily pay that fee for. Very talented.
Raphina.. I'm not sure. He was good for Leeds but it remains to be seen how good he is for a top team. For £50m I might take the gamble.
Antony is even more risky, plays in a league where the defending is genuinely horrible and doesn't even put up good figures there. Ajax want 80m euros for him and that's way too much, fair value for the risk I'd say is around £40m.
It's not necessarily comparing to what other players went for but considering the player and all the relevant bits of info regarding that player.
What is your formula then for a player that looks really good in the best team in a league that is ranked seven in Europe?Find it funny that posters who have barely watched him or have no idea about how to value a player are adamant about what a player is worth.
80 million including add ons would be fair. Not 100 million!
This saga just got a massive boost in fuel
