You know him much better than I do. However that isn't very reassuring to say the least. Hahahaha.

I think it goes to show just who is getting the best deal here.
Looking forward to your negative posts every week

Yeah and after a bad start we would need to go on a run. :nervous:

Even Newcastle will pick up alot of points mate, feel like the league is just getting harder each year!

Without ambitious owners we can be fecked in the future.

Im sure they will realise in 3 years time then when we are fighting relegation:wenger:
This is basically how the likes of Arsenal, Leeds, Newcastle all drifted away from the top when other teams just keep getting better and stronger. With all the teams in the premier league being amongst the richest in the world, it’s a lot easier to close the gap now.

The top 6 should really be concerned about Newcastle coming on the horizon. They already look well drilled without even having spent any of their abundance of money yet.

Really putting pressure on the board isn't he. Slagging United off and saying Ajax don't need the cash after losing 5-6 players.

Thing is the longer this drags on the harder it will be for them to replace him.
his replacement is just around the Corner. Ziyach.

Why do we honestly care about how much we pay? If it means we don't sign anyone else this window or the next three as a result then yeah I get it. But we've been crying out for serious investment in the squad and we may finally be getting it. If the guy costs £60million ideal, if we have to pay north of £80million then fair enough. If ETH sees him as the X factor in a position we've been crap in for years (same as DM) then I'm with him.

Having said all of this if the money being thrown about is a Barca style sell off of assets then I will have a very very different view.

Always thought Valencia was an average winger mate, maybe i am harsh?
You are. At the end he was pretty mediocre and also not overly impressive as RB, but that time around 2010/2011, when he served cross after cross on Rooney's head, he was absolutely electric. Don't think there were many better RWs around in that period

He and nani were good that year and we were looking like embarrassing Bayern until Rafael got the red.

Holy shizzles! He actually did in 2012

Guess my memory is not what it was!

To be fair we have had some great players over the years so you get alittle spoiled i guess? (not much under the glazers tho)
Pre leg break valencia was a beast, he could run for days, was insanely fast and his crossing was unbelievable.

I remember AC Milan against United Rooney scored a few but Valencia had a great game.

We replaced Ronaldo with Valencia giving Rooney assists, and Rooney really had an unbelievable season

We've had some great players since the Glazers took over. Even more if you count the ones that we were positive about signing, but didn't work out (Di Maria, Pogba to an extent etc)

That isn't really the main problem with their ownership.

True, Valencia lost a yard or two after that leg break. Great guy and a loyal player. :D

Guess maybe i was alittle harsh about him,i apologise!

We have had "Great talents" but not great players for us as a club i would say?

This is like being owned by the Saudis without being owned by Saudis.

I say let's go and buy everybody what's the worst can happen?

If we get in trouble = Levers?

And where are you getting this £200m from exactly?
We spent more than that in Ole's first summer I believe? Where the money comes from isn't the mystery.

Our spending hasn't been curbed by a lack of funds. If we've had a low spend window, it's because of either arrogance, in that we felt we were fine with what we had, incompetence or a lack of real sporting success as our vision. Really it's a mix of all 3.

We've managed to almost keep up with City, spending wise, who are financially doped by a state. Imagine if we hadn't lost over a billion quid to interest....

You are right, and I don't think Ajax would refuse that.

They will probably accept a bit less than that, and will replace him with Ziyech.
Which is great business for Ajax and I imagine really helps cement them financially. Whilst it's over paying from a United perspective, I do think it's a bit of a case of we are where we are. We can grumble about past failings but the fact of the matter is,, they've happened, we're here and yes, we're pretty desperate.

In two years time, if he's playing well and we're looking less of a joke, nobody will give a hoot that we paid more than his market value. I hope the boy can hit the ground running though because if not, the price will absolutely come and haunt him. Only has to look at Maguire for an example of how sour people can become towards you when you cost a lot.

Spent a lot of time in Holland as a kid and always had a soft spot for Ajax, so if anyone is going to absolutely rinse us, I'd rather it be them.

Valencia for a while during his physical best just tore past fullbacks with his pace and power. 09/10 when Rooney got 34 goals.
Valencia had 23 goals and 56 assists in 325 matches in Premier League. He was not the most clinical player but i agree that he was a good player of course.

The club gets in financial trouble and the glazers are forced to sell to Jim who clears the debts? Fill your fecking boots ETH!
