It's a shame this game (and the pre-game show) is not being broadcast on TV in the United States. It's a much smaller audience having it on the streaming service (PEACOCK).
The 19th placed team is playing the 15th placed one. Hardly worth NBC Sports air time.

Starting an emptyoldtrafford hashtag completely undermining the protest.
Aye, when the stadium turns out not to be completely empty for the game some folk will say that the ‘protest’ was a failure.

Like Rashford and Sancho, seems to earn his starting spot because he's paid a lot more than anything else.

It’s actually the hashtag emptyoldtraford (with one f) which is trending. The fact that they can’t even spell the name of the ground of the club they supposedly support probably tells you all you need to know about these people…

So let me get this right, it will be embarrassing (ugh that word again) if it doesnt get the game postponed?
I can’t help you to get it right but a march and a few chants won’t register with the Glazers. They are immune to protests that don’t affect their pockets. I expect we are on the same side but have it your own way.

for those who cannot get to Manchester this evening, anyone who has twitter should try make #glazersout trend on twitter from 6 to 7 pm then #boycottteamviewer and then #boycottaddidas......? and do that for the evening! would that not help?

Is Ratcliffe involved with the 1958, or is this just the 1958 spreading their cheeks for him?
A prominent member of the Class of '92 is involved in regular communication with Ratcliffe and is using their various contacts to create a massive push specifically for his upcoming bid. The 1958 are one of multiple vehicles currently being utilised to aid Ratcliffe.

Expect to see his face more and more over the coming weeks.

I wonder if MUTV will live stream the protests

And get some insight from Lou Macari on Casemiro who he’s never heard of.

Worked a treat last time didn't it...
Sort of did, yeah.

It was (maybe?) the only time during the Glazer reign that they addressed the fans and opened a dialogue. It was the thing that got them to pay attention when absolutely nothing else had worked.

It went away because the same level of pressure wasn't sustained after Super League went away, but still.

I don't want to see ugly scenes, so hopefully it can be done constructively, but surely just about every successful protest ever had to disrupt someone or something to succeed.

And what has come from this open dialogue with the fans? The square root of feck all.

Still no fan share scheme, still a shambles on and off the pitch, still taking dividends while the club and stadium fall apart around them.

It was a token gesture done to preemptively stop further protests; that has worked up until us thinking we have a viable alternative for ownership in Ratcliffe.

I've no doubt there'll be another token gesture made to placate the fans in the next week, along with loosening the purse strings a bit over the next 10 days as we scramble around Europe trying to sign players.

Right, because the pressure dropped off to a point they were once again able to ignore it - but on that occasion it forced them to pay attention.

Easy for me to say sat at home but keeping it peaceful and legal won’t get the job done.
Then why complain people are doing something tangible? This is not a standalone effort but one coming off the back of years of unhappiness and a whole year of genuine anger at the owners.

On top of that, we have a viable buyer we want who will probably be working behind the scenes to push this. All in all, I am usually realistic but even from that POV, there's a reason for hoping it's the beginning of the end.

But you said the protests worked last time.

Everything that has happened since then shows that statement to be false.

Even though it’s good that people are upset about the running of the club I really hope the match isn’t postponed tonight, couldn’t be arsed watching Coronation Street..

It's weird but I feel numb about today's game. I just don't care if we win. In fact, I hope we lose because these protests need to build and build. I fear that any improvement in on-field performance wiIl distract from these protests.

It feels wrong for the Glazers to continue owning this club. How have we allowed them to take out more than a billion! I understand that it's not my (the fans') money but somehow it still feels very personal. I don't think this feeling is going to go away till we get rid of the Glazers. I feel sad and angry.

Right.

Just because they didn't immediately oust the Glazers, doesn't mean the disruption caused to the club by those protests didn't achieve anything. Those protests were the only thing in nearly 2 decades that the Glazers were not able to ignore.

Sure, it died down and with it went the Glazer's facade of being willing to co-operate with fans, but if the protests are more sustained, there'll always be something they're not able to ignore.

Massive respect for anyone going down today.
