I think he needs to call Michael Owen in to help him write his brochure

Ronaldo is a player that is used to winning, had won everything. He plays with passion for the game.

United is not a club that is compatible with his ambitions, is not a club that is used to winning.

The player with most goals last season for United, and United supporters want Ronaldo to leave, saying the problem is him, just because the guy likes to win everything!!!
Hello Dajo! Interesting first post. Welcome to RedCafe, we are happy to have you here. Feel at home and have fun. However, it looks like Ronaldo might just find a club to take him away from Evil ten Hag before the window shuts and you might quickly lose interest in this forum. I'm sure you will find a CR7Cafe somewhere on these interwebs where you will fit in better. Best of luck.
Cheers.

10 years ago, maybe. Nowadays he cares about his personal stats more than anything.
If he could choose, you betcha he would want to play for Bayern Munich. Easiest league & team to pad his stat.

ZERO chance of this. The only possibility left for him is Portugal - hence Benfica, if they qualify
Benfica?

He's Sporting through and through. He's not going to Benfica.

Trying to game this.

He wants UCL football and wants a competitive side.

England? Out of the question - Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Tottenham won't happen.

Spain? Madrid and Barca won't happen. Atletico is a stretch, not impossible but very damaging to his Madrid legacy. Sevilla a step below.

France? PSG, no. Any other club in Ligue 1 would be a humiliating step down vs Messi.

Serie A? Juve, Milan and Inter not interested. Napoli is a real option but finances are an issue.

Bumdesliga? Bayern not interested unless he takes a massive paycut, I don't feel they want him as it is. He is too toxic would cause issues. Leverkusen and Frankfurt a step below. Dortmund? I doubt.

Realistically, I see only Napoli, Sporting and Dortmund being prospects.

Napoli, I believe is where he will, if he does, move to. A chance of Serie A + UCL KOs.

His behaviour hasn't helped at all.

Its a hard situation with him now that most team dont want him and whoever might want him cant have him because of the fees and wages.

I think
1. He and his camp want the club to forfeit the fees and let him leave for free so the team that want him can have him with his full wages otherwise he will have to subsidize that with lowering the wage.

2. He doesnt fit the system that we want to play and have him still around is going to have problems with all the dramas involves.

3. People can say he score goals last year but for him to score all the goals and take all the glories everytimes he scored, the play as a whole gone through him and that result with a lot of losses and disconnected performances from many of the players.

So, i think at the end, its best the club and him come together and reach a compromise to have some small fees for him and he reduce his wages a bit to help whoever that might want him.

Benfica?

He's Sporting through and through. He's not going to Benfica.
Is he? Like he was United through and through and then was on his way to City before Fergie stepped in? Like he was Madrid through and through but spent most of the summer trying to get to Atletico?

Sporting don't want him apparently. Benfica lost Nunez and might lose Ramos as well. More importantly, Mendes pretty much owns them. Come the final days of the window, he'll force them to take him

England? Out of the question - Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Tottenham won't happen.
Yes

Spain? Madrid and Barca won't happen. Atletico is a stretch, not impossible but very damaging to his Madrid legacy. Sevilla a step below.
Atletico is impossible and Sevilla can't afford it unless he plays for free

France? PSG, no. Any other club in Ligue 1 would be a humiliating step down vs Messi.
It's only PSG and OM, PSG obviously don't need him and OM already said they don't want him

Serie A? Juve, Milan and Inter not interested. Napoli is a real option but finances are an issue.
What for? Osihmen is staying, they don't need him and he's too expensive for them

Bumdesliga? Bayern not interested unless he takes a massive paycut, I don't feel they want him as it is. He is too toxic would cause issues. Leverkusen and Frankfurt a step below. Dortmund? I doubt.
BvB already called themselves out, Bayern don't need him, Leipzig's entire model makes it a non starter. Leverkusen is the only one left, and they have Schick, and he's too expensive for them

Ajax might be a possibility, otherwise, it's either Portugal or Turkey

I think he’ll end up at Atleti still. Rumour mill suggest they’re still to make a few signings, so let’s see.

First one off his seat, but many on here will convince you he doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the team if he’s not in it.

Its got to be hard for him. Always been a starter, always been a winner, the main man. Its not easy to accept you may not be who you once were. Doesn’t make him evil. Makes him human.

If he is to move on, so be it and I hope it works out for him. We need a reliable goal scorer in that case. If he stays, I still think he has a role to play in this team but he’s not going to start every game. If I were him, I’d stay until Jan, stay fresh for the WC and then see if I can get a move. That way for United as well, we’d know if we can rely on our younger forwards to hit the back of the net consistently or not.

He holds Sporting far closer to his heart than United or Madrid.

Far closer. Benfica would be treachery that even I don't think he is capable of.

Not to mention going to Portugal ends his career at the top level.

Napoli, in a top league, still keeps it alive to some extent.

It's why I honestly believe he should stay at United. £400-500K in wages for another 9 months of service and then he is free to go wherever he wants.

He knew what he wanted last night, he ran his socks off whenever we had the ball to make himself available to score, but couldn't give a shit when we were without a ball. I don't think he did one run when we were defending. You can see he wanted to score so hard to make himself bigger than the team.
He did make runs chasing after a couple players, one specially deep almost into our box (can't remember if the tackle he attempted there was successful or not). Everyone also dismisses set piece defensive contributions, but he had 2/3 clearances with his head in the 8 minutes he was on field, and provided much more defensively than other attacking players on the field that pressed a bit but didn't get a tackle in during the last 10 minutes. He's always clearing balls on corners and set pieces, that has been part of his defensive contribution, while I never see Rashford or other players doing any kind of that work. But that's not a dig into Rashford or other, players have different sets of abilities.

It's clear ETH thought he'd be a defensive asset even after Liverpool reduced our lead to one goal, and I'd have to say that was the right call by the coach to bring him on. The game was much less about pressing in Liverpool's own half in the last 10 minutes, and was filled with corners, lateral set pieces, and Ronaldo was consistently in our own box, having a few clearances.

He had around 6 minutes or so of effective game time, in which he put pressure on Liverpool during counter attacks, didn't run his ass off on the defensive phase (ran just a couple times), but also contributed in our own area in a way other attacking players didn't because hey, defending is not just pressing and hey, different players add different things on the defensive planning. He didn't have an incredible game by any means, but he did just fine. It's interesting everyone calls out that he should stay ONLY if to play a team role, but when he comes on in the 85th minute in a game United is winning, and is brought on to contribute on the defensive phase, and spends most of the time on the field contributing to said phase instead of the attacking phase, people will still find a way to pound him and look for the 3 times he didn't run instead of looking to the 3 important clearances he made, and still point out his individuality when all he did was being on the field helping the team secure the 3 points.

I think he’s going to go back to Lisbon. Lisbon weren’t selling Nunes, and then suddenly he went to Wolves. I think Mendes will have done that deal to get money in for Ronaldo in case Atletico can’t make an offer. Mendes/Ronaldo have to move to avoid losing face, and they’d be able to sell it as a homecoming and all that.

Ignore those guys. Some people like to make a soap opera about Ronaldo and how it is in the dressing room.

In reality the issue he doesn't really fit at the club anymore unless ETH has some plan for him and he is willing to accept (which I don't think he is). Best at this stage he moves on.

That's exactly the thing, no CL football and being dropped to the bench? His ego can't take this much humiliation.
haha stop making it sound like that's exclusively a Ronaldo problem you absolute hater. Messi would do the same. Jordan in basketball. Lebron. Yeah, it is hard to accept not being as great as you were when you were one of the greatest to ever do it. Its almost as if people now hate him for either having achieved what he did in the game or have no concept of how superstars are different to just any other player. Ronaldo and Messi, Pele and Maradona, they aren't like all of the players. Not sure how that's such a hard concept to wrap your head around.

We have Brobbey, who needs Ronaldo?! :wenger:

On a serious note, Ajax will be on the same stance as Bayern. Great player, but doesn't fit the philosophy. Nor our wage structure.

I seriously fail to see who' going to take him. If Mendes is indeed so highly involved with Benfica, that could actually be his destination.

Thank you, don't worry with me my friend.

I just gave my opinion about Ronaldo, and indeed I hope he really leave United, because you don't deserve a player like him, a player that gave you so much in the past, a player who was top man united scorer last season, better than the young ones. And still blaming Ronaldo for being a club that don't play to win games..

How can a guy who Won everything, breaks all the records could be happy in a club that doesn't win?? People don't see that?

Keane is such a fecking legend.

"Your on the bench"
"What do you want me to do?"
"....Get in the team"
That's brilliant! Thanks for that; I couldn't quite make out what was said in the background with the Sky Sports guy babbling away over the mic.

Their interaction had a nostalgic feeling of Keane and Ronaldo of 18yrs ago - the authoritative captain Keane demanding a respectful young Ronaldo works harder to get into the starting XI.

Fanboy alert!

Don't remember Jordan demanding everything to be centered around him 2nd time he came out of retiretment while playing for Washington. Also don't see Messi making gestures and facial expression everytime someone else is passed the ball instead of him.

That's not saying those players don't think high about themselves, but Cristiano is on another egoistic planet when it comes to self love and overestimating his own ability.

I think he'll be fine in games we expect to dominate, so that's the plan. I think he'll be ok with it as well (not starting every week).

First step is to control games well and that starts with the CMs.
